DD1 just lost her first tooth and I am so not prepared for the tooth fairy to visit. I expected to have another year or so to decide how I wanted to do this!
At least I have a dollar on hand.
How old is she?? Good luck with the sneaking in is she a sound sleeper?
She'll be 5 in March, and is sometimes a sound sleeper. FX tonight is one of those nights.
FFSC: I can't help but compare W to all the other babies and feel like he's behind! 😔
Same. I compare DD2 to what DD1 and DS were doing at this age. I compare DS to DD1. It's madness. I need to repeat this mantra: all babies (and kids) develop on their own timeline and it is all ok. If they need help along the way, we will get it.

Oh mama it's so hard! I was much more concerned with C (it's easier to let it go this time). He seemed to do everything late. One of my best friends had a baby 3 months after I did, and she did EVERYTHING first. I actually had him evaluated by EI for speech because I was convinced he was so far behind (he wasn't). They're your baby and it's impossible to not worry and stress because you want the best for them. If you are really concerned, call your pedi and talk to them about it. But I can say that I think W seems PERFECT. He actually reminds me a lot of C Who is the best, and has caught up (and excelled) at everything.
Oh hey motn ramble. Ignore me, haha. I'm tiiiiiired. Just hate that you're stressed!

I feel ya! R is so clearly behind in almost every category. I know babies develop at different rates, but I always thought that meant other people's babies and my baby would be obviously advanced and talented from Day 1.

+1 to what others have said. As a teacher, I see a huge range of abilities in kids the same age. Kids are in their own timelines. Some need extra support to get there, others just need time. He's progressing, just as he sees fit. Ask your pedi if it will make you feel better, but I think he's fine. Both my nephew and my bff's daughter were slow to pick up some major milestones. My sister pushed for EI and my friend did not. They are both fully functioning and exceeding expectations now (3 and 4).
DS ended up in our bed last night because he would only sleep touching us. It was cute when H brought him in though, DS sat up, leaned over so his head was on my rib cage and just closed his eyes.
I seriously hope he sleeps better tonight, I don't sleep as well when we bed share.
Catching up on laundry today, I'm so happy to have my own washing machine again. For things like towels I'd put out new ones but just put the used ones to the side so I've got a couple extra loads. I also learned I own more towels than I thought.
I decided to make peanut butter balls today. The recipe I used made 93 balls. Plus I still need to roll rumballs later. My hands are cramping from all the rolling. But, it'll be delicious and worth it when all the holiday baking is done. I'm planning to give each of my parents a tin filled with Christmas treats for their gifts. Because, what do you buy people who have everything?
I went to bed so early last night. This morning was pretty lazy but I've been getting things ready because DH has to take the girls to a birthday party this afternoon by himself, and it's a swimming party. I have to work this afternoon.
I just realized I didn't fill you guys in on yesterday's happenings. S finished the last dose of her antibiotic on Friday and as soon as I got home from work yesterday I knew her ear infections weren't gone. First I called the after hours nurse to see if they would just give us antibiotics over the phone to last through the weekend, but no dice. So I brought her to acute care. After a billion unnecessary questions he finally said I was right and gave another script for bactrim. So then I decided to drop S at home (the clinic is only a mile from our house) and then go get the meds. Well I arrived at Walgreens 3 minutes too late, after some anger and quick thinking I called the one that's open till midnight and they were able to pull it and fill it. I will be calling her pedi on Monday to see what they want to do re: tubes.
This kid does not want to sleep unless he's being held. He's screaming in his room, quiets the second he's picked up, will fall asleep on you and scream the second he's put down either awake or 'asleep'. He's fine on his back if boob is on the menu and he doesn't feel feverish, so I'm blaming leap 7 for the clingyness and it can go EAD. I love baby cuddles but I also love when baby goes exploring

DD did this a few nights ago. I think it's the leap. After an hour I made DH go in. She wasn't happy about it for a few minutes but she fell asleep and he was able to put her down.
We slept in until 8 this morning!!!!!!!! Lazy morning for us. DH was out plowing because we got a couple inches of snow overnight. The kids and I had pancakes for breakfast. Then I finished our foam tile floor (since they finally were delivered yesterday) and DS watched a super old Alvin & the Chipmunks movie I found on Amazon. The kids are now napping. Well, I hope DS falls asleep. H is going fishing for a bit and has hockey league tonight, so the kids and I will continue to be lazy the rest of the day.
Hi all!! It's coooooold here! We FINALLY went to visit my friend who had her baby on Thanksgiving. So cute and sweet and small... thank god for my IUD. In other news, L slept great last night (one wake up from 7-630!) but woke up with a tooth. So I think that's why, not because she actually is changing her sleep habits.... womp womp.

Add me to the carpal tunnel club. The ginger cookies I made required cutting ginger chews into tiny pieces. But it's such a great gift so it's worth it

Ginger cookies are my FAVORITE. Recipe??
Yes ma'am!! These are 100% the best cookie I've ever had/made.
I make candied ginger for my gingerbread every year because it's SO expensive. And then I save the delicious ginger sugar syrup that's left over and add it to tea. Or add seltzer for my own ginger ale. YUM. I can't wait to try these cookies! Thank you!
