Went to my work Christmas party last night. It was fun. Now it's the usual groceries and such today. Have to also make a run to my friends for more pumped milk.

DS had his first set of shots yesterday, a little fussy and slept a lot yesterday. He's currently been comfort nursing for 30 minutes, not sure ill get back to sleep.
Last gymnastics class for DD today. Need to go grocery shopping and do some cleaning My house is a disaster.
hikingmama222 poor little guy! DS2 goes Wednesday for his 2 month check up and shots. Not looking forward to that. +1 my house is a disaster. Mostly because I wasn't home much Thursday and Friday.
DS2 slept through the night again last night! 9p-4:45a. Soooo nice! I laid him back down about 5:30 and he slept till almost 8:30! Of course DS1 was up at 6:57, so I didn't sleep that extra little bit, but still.
I have laundry going now and have been straightening things up after not being at home much the last 2 days. This afternoon/evening will be busy for us. H is working the short shift today and will be home around noon. After that we'll take the kids to see Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the reindeer at daycare. They usually have some crafts set up and cookie decorating, so it'll be about an hour or so that we're out. H's work Christmas party is tonight starting at 6, so we have to levae here by 5. I'm hoping I can sneak in to get my nails done beforehand but I'm not holding my breath.

Good morning! I hope everyone stays warm.
Poor G had some serious gas overnight. He ate right before midnight, down at 12:30, up at 3, and then alternated between sleeping and fussing until 7. MH is working today and was up with us for a while. We're all tired today. N has his last swim class today, and I managed to get us here almost on time! I have to do laundry today and pick up the house a bit. I really want to get a Christmas tree soon but we need to clean and organize the living room first. I hate that it's the 10th and we don't have a tree yet.

Just fed C and am watching her fight the swaddle. Hopefully she gives in and goes back to sleep. We went to the zoo and saw the Christmas lights last night which was pretty fun. V didn't go to bed until 930 so is still sleeping. She called for me once at 630 and I didn't hear her again so that is a big win.
Plans today are grocery shopping, taking V to a birthday party and possibly dinner out. We have the kids registered for parents night out at our daycare but H isn't feeling well and I'd rather keep them home and on schedule if we aren't actually going to get to go out.
DS has been a bit congested, and I think that might be why he's been waking up every 2 hours at night the past two nights.
DH had to go into work this morning to talk to one of the big bosses about his career path. I'm dying for him to get home and tell me what they talked about. DH is upper management and is well liked, so he expected a good conversation.

DS has swim lessons this morning. DH says he's the best in his class and has the confidence to swim by himself (with a floatie on). I'm so proud of him. He can be so shy that I was worried he wouldn't get in the pool without a parent. Now he's a little fish.
Tonight DH and I are headed to my work holiday party. It's at a pub so casual dress. Looking forward to a night out with DH and socializing with adults.
Tomorrow we have DD's two year and family pictures. She doesn't even like us to take her picture with our phones. I'm expecting the worst. However, if we can get family pictures, I'll be satisfied.

I finally had the time to look up what all starting a business entails. I couldn't find the non-profit stuff. There is just so so much. There is no way I am up to that adventure. I'll make the wish list to give to The Ronald McDonald House so people can make donations. After that, I'm done. No more fundraisers or anything. Handling money is scary. I would rather deal in items.

I forgot to change the wake up time on DS1's clock, so he was up entirely too early and the darn iPad wifi kept cutting out, so no way to distract him for some extra sleep. DS2 only woke up once which was good; I just need to get better at sleeping.
This morning, we went on a Santa train. DS1 actually spoke with Santa, which surprised me since he's usually pretty scared of him in person. DS2 slept in the carrier for most of the ride. Now he's talking to the lights above his playmat.
We've had a quiet morning and now have family coming to visit this afternoon. I didn't make it out alone today, maybe tomorrow. DD2 slept 930-5 last night. I couldn't even believe it. I hope its not just a tease. I'm ready for Spring.

I got both boys to nap so I could get a nap. I feel like a new person! N told me that he would like to make a gingerbread house with me so I'll have to get one tomorrow. I also told him we could go shopping this week to pick out gifts for MH and G. Of course, N asked me if he could get a gift for himself too. We have to work on the giving part of the season.

I'm laying on our new sofa trying to decide what to make for dinner. The Holiday in the Park was not what we thought it would be and Santa left before we got there.
Morning all!! I can't believe the weekend randoms are still only a page long. Everyone must be having fun. 😄
We had a great time at the Christmas party last night. I finally got to meet H's work friend's wife (did you follow that?) They're expecting their first in February, so we talked babies and pregnancy all night. Maybe I made a mom friend? That would be cool. She's also a first grade teacher in our district so we talked some about that too, as we've been debating what to do about school when DS1 gets to that point. Anyway, it was a fun night and so nice to be out with just H for a change. We haven't been out, just the two of us, since our anniversary in June. The boys were good for their babysitter too (H's niece who goes to college about an hour north of us).
DS2 slept from 9ish until 5ish for the third night in a row, which has been so nice. The Prilosec really seems to be helping as well. We've been able to do lots of play on his play mat, and tummy time as well. We've also found that he's not a huge fan of being held. I keep half joking that it's because he was held constantly for the last 6ish weeks, he must be over it.
Why do toddlers take so long to poop? I've been sitting in the bathroom with her for at least 20 minutes, she won't let me leave.
At least yours will sit and wait. Mine refuses to sit and poops in her panties every day. It is driving me insane. No threats or rewards do anything.
How old is she? I'm such a lazy potty trainer. DD1 was trained at daycare for months but never wanted to go at home. I was too lazy to push it, and right before she turned 3 she just decided to start going at home too.

She turned two in September. Was going pretty well with both functions until new baby arrived and then the panty pooping started. She is pretty much proud of it at this point.

I know that's normal when a new sibling comes along but still frustrating. Hopefully the phase doesn't last long!
If it were me I would go back to diapers until it was over. But that's probably bad advice and like I said, lazy.

I threatened her with that yesterday. The only reason I'm on the fence about it is bc she is peeing so well in the potty and I feel like I'd have to re diaper her every time she goes on the potty instead of just pulling up panties. We may go to pull-ups though. I'm sick of washing poopy panties.

Hi all! We went to church this morning and are getting ready for quiet/nap time. When the girls get up we are going to go to Wal-mart to return a lot of things. I'm a little embarrassed by it.

Can you train her to ask for a diaper when she needs to poop and just have her wear a diaper for that?
DS1 has been pee trained since April, but will not poop in the potty. I too am lazy and not willing to push it, but over the summer I trained him to ask for a diaper when he needed to go because I was tired of cleaning his man sized poops out of his big boy pants. Except for a handful of skid mark accidents, it has worked well for us.

How did you train him to ask for a diaper? I could live with that.

Honestly, I don't remember exactly. I think I was exasperated one day and just said, "L you cannot poop in your big boy pants anymore. If you are afraid of the potty, that's ok, but you need to ask mom for a diaper." He was a little over 2.5 at the time and was obviously able to control his bowels, so it worked. It may have taken a couple times of reinforcing it, I'm sure. ETA: we had been trying since April when he was pee trained to have him poop on the potty, but literally every time he screamed bloody murder and would shake with fear. Hard pass to forcing my kid to sit when he's that afraid. He was beginning to hold it and have issues with constipation too, so I was finally over it.
Busy weekend over here! Lots of house cleaning yesterday, and today we went and got our tree. Both kiddos are down for naps now, so we are trying to get some more cleaning/organizing done. I am excited for tomorrow's snow!
