He used to be out in the field for his company and they handled vacation pay by giving all employees a check for 2 weeks (or more depending on length of service) during their anniversary month. This has been his reality for the last 14 years with his company.
In late 2015 he started working in the administrative office where they actually accrue PTO for time worked. He just can't wrap his brain around being able to take a paid vacation. Like, he keeps saying "when my vacation check comes in the mail..." and I keep having to remind him that he won't get a vacation check.
That is a strange policy. So if his anniversary was in Jan, he would get an extra check then, but then took a week trip in March, would he just not get paid for that week then?

I grabbed a chicken sandwich and frosty for prelunch. I've given in to eating way more than I think I should be at this point in pregnancy because I'm still nursing.
DD is sleeping in the car before swim lessons, so I'm eating and TCF.

Once upon a time ago my H worked for a company that did this. They provided a lump sump check for vacation pay at some point and then he could just take the time off whenever he wanted. He would not get a paycheck for whichever weeks he took off that year though.
I got to leave my house for a Christmas luncheon with coworkers (I work from home). It felt nice to do my hair and make up again.. and look presentable.
3 people asked me if I was pregnant again though. 2, I think just asked out of no where/curiosity.. I was sitting etc. the other was after we were up getting food, she said it was in my face.. a glow. What she really meant was 'look at the belly pudge girl!' I of course told them all yah, I wasn't gonna lie.

I just heard a co-worker ask someone who got married if she ever changed her name. This girl told her she did change it and my co-worker responds, "Good girl!" as if she was a dog that had just followed a command. Umm... what? Excuse me?

Yes, anytime he took time off it was unpaid.
It's a horrible policy and I'm glad he's in the office now. But old habits die hard.

Wtf
Right! FWIW I already didn't think highly of the person that said it as she is very open about not washing her hands at work because the soap dries them out. /vom

Yeah that is stupid. The only upside would be if you left the company and they had already paid it out for the full year.

Ok this seems oddly like my former workplace. Like crazy similar.
Regular good ol' dr. Pepper is a no go? I mean, it's named after a doctor - it has to be healthy, right? 😝
I had a coke yesterday. It was amazing. My La Croix just didn't measure up afterward.
I love dr. Pepper but I've been pretty bad with sugar the past few days and wanted to be good... I should have just had the damn dr. Pepper...
Does dr. pepper come in the smaller cans or bottles? That way you can indulge the craving while still limiting yourself. I know Coke products make them, but I'm not sure about pepsi/dr. pepper.
My lack of motivation for work anymore is INSANE. I'm glad I work at home cause I'd lose my mind in an office. And it doesn't help they're pushing OT big time this week. Im only giving what I can. My manager knows I'm pregnant so I'm hoping she takes that into consideration when she sees my hours.

So tonight is my work party. I'm still trying to avoid the boat ride before dinner since my coworkers are trying to figure out a "solution" so I can join. I cannot risk getting MS on a freaking boat!! I've also got to buy some grape juice so I can have "wine" with dinner without tipping them off. My motivation level is a -3 so I'm pissed that I even have to go through all the hoops.

I would probably go along with their plans and still secretly plan to skip. If they ask what happened to you on Monday, tell them LO got sick and you stayed home so the sitter didn't have to clean up puke.

dh is staying home with DD and the holiday party is tonight straight from work. I'm trying to say that I have to make up an hr of time and will just meet them at the restaurant. So lame!

Can you tell them something came up with your DD... husband leaving late from work? and you have to run for her right after you leave? Then meet them later?
Not only am I struggling to be productive today with work. But the minute I clock out, my sons therapist will be knocking at my door for his 2 hour session tonight 😩is it 8 yet? I feel meh today.

I work 30 mins from home and our nanny usually stays until 5. Dinner is at 5:45, so I don't think it would be quite feasible. I'm probably going to tip them off by being so stubborn but whatever. I'm already tired from all this bs! Maybe I should stop drinking wine when not pregnant skits not so damn obvious! ......nah!

I've been coveting one of those. Not willing to pay full price.
I bought the single used for $70 for DD. Seriously I had to jump on the dbl even though I was like 2 minutes pregnant because even on those same groups, they normal sell for $250-350 still! I think this mom had no idea!

I pulled the pregnant/nausea card last night. No regrets!! DD started crying in her sleep probably due to teething around midnight last night. I felt sick upon waking so DH went to rock her and ended up cosleeping in the guest room with her. I didn't even realize he don't come back until 5:30. I slept very well during that time!!

HI y'all, I'm going to try to be a little more active as work allows, especially since I had my scan today, and I'm cautiously optimistic after our loss this summer.
I mean. I have a daughter. I remember a few days of being tired when I was pregnant with her (literally like 2 or 3 days)....but...I literally want to just go home and lay on the couch. I do not want to do a damned thing. My kid's like "come on, let's dance, mommy" and I'm like "that's great, yell for daddy."
