I'm not sure it's regional, but maybe individual. sunfrogger88 mispronounces it and we are from the same "region". I have heard people use both all my life.

Yeah, I've heard people say it both ways too. So, I didn't know it was regional. Some people say "Carmul corn" but then they will say "caramel" another time. Anyway...what interesting topics we have lol...
I missed C's feeding tonight bc I was at gymnastics w DD. Now my boob is throbbing! I wanted to pump enough just to take the edge off, not make up for the feeding I missed. I got 2oz and my boob is still tender but not in pain like before. Popping some lecithin as a precaution.
I was at my work holiday party past DD's bedtime and I ached! I pulled out the damn pump again

Hmmm...I always thought it was soda everywhere in the states.
When I am in the states, and I ask for peacans (Pea-Cans)...people look at me confused because apparantly it is Pea-Cons. I also had a weird look when I ordered a tea in a restaurant...they were like "Hot tea or Iced tea?". To me, tea is always hot unless you specify iced.

Nope lots of "pop" states lol
And I am laughing because I am a Pea-Con person and I am giggling at the tea thing because you made me think about when I order tea what do I say and I always "I would like an iced tea" so I guess I do specify lol

And iced tea in the states is totally different than Canada!

Just to cover all bases: Care-ah-mel Pop but I've also called it "soft drink" Pea-cans Tea is always hot unless specified iced And as a Canadian raised in Quebec, I will also throw in another one which is a pet peeve of mine and DH's, Poutine is pronounced like "puts-in" NEVER "poo-teen". Why would a food so delicious be called a "POO-teen"? Nope.

This makes me laugh bc I completely agree, however, as a non-french speaker with little to no French exposure before my husband, I think "puts-in" is hard to get from poutine if you don't know the language. AND everything French is hard to say for a native English speaker, IME.
Example: my MIL is named Carole. And I cannot pronounce her name.

So Emma spiked a fever overnight Tuesday night and has been dealing with it since then. Our pedi ruled it a reaction to her chicken pox vaccine 3 weeks ago at her 12mo check up. Has this happened to anyone else and, when did it clear up for you guys? We saw the pedi yesterday who said if it's still here Monday she will want to see her again. Ears, eyes, throat all clear. We are working on two molars too on the right side in addition to a front tooth (that I thought popped through already).
I've been giving her Tylenol at the pedi recc of only when she's totally miserable so she hasn't had it since 3:40pm yesterday (she refused it last night at bed, a first). Her fever was gone when I put her to bed but it's back this morning, but much lower than it has been in the mornings (100.5 vs 102.8 the last couple mornings)

Here's my longer update: I had my appt and the baby was in there with a nice heartbeat!! Still measuring a tad behind (7w4d) so he moved my edd to 7/31. Scheduled my NT scan for mid Jan. He also said I could try for a VBAC so there is a lot of homework for me on that! Eek!

littleredfish I need to try this. I have like 2 real friends. It's weird because BF has like 800 all of which are genuinely close too. (That's exaggerated but you get the point.) I say soda or specify the type, car-uh-Mel, and pea-can. samelly where are you? Because when I say tea I mean sweet tea lol. I think Tom and I are the only people in Florida who are big hot tea drinkers though. Lol

onyx, it's hard! We lived in Ontario for 6 years and I had like 2 friends. A bunch of what I would consider acquaintances but I'm probably stingey on what I consider a friend. I've been to a couple of playgroups so far but my biggest barrier is how quiet I am. I'm not shy, I'm just more of a people watcher and listener. Get me on the right topic and I'll talk your ear off but I'm not big on small talk; "how about this weather?" and all that. Too introverted for this but I need an IRL mom friend to keep me sane! Especially with DH slotted for tour this summer. 6-9 months with 3 kids at home all day for 3 months then getting one to school and having 2 babies to entertain, I'll go mad.

onyx, I live in Western Canada. I am from Ontario though and I also lived on the East Coast for few years.
Tea is hot tea, Iced tea is sweet tea...except at coffee shops where it is usually unsweetened. Also, some American chains have unsweetened iced tea and they usually warn you when you order it because people are used to the sweetened stuff. I like the plain iced tea without the sugar though like the have in the States...but I guess in the South it is usually sweet?

Yes. At home I make a gallon of tea and put about a cup of sugar in it lol
