We have family pictures this morning. They were supposed to be outside but it's still freezing. The photographer 's other clients all rescheduled so she's coming to our house to do them! Yay for not having to leave the house with both kids, especially since DS still loses his shit most times in the car seat.
DD has a play date this afternoon with an old daycare friend who went to kindergarten this year so she hasn't seen her much. They miss each other.
DH and I are going to go to Toys r Us and finish our Christmas shopping for the kids while DD is gone.

Good morning!
It's snowing here. They're calling for 3-4 inches here. Tomorrow it's going to be 50 degrees. I love New England. 🙂
G must have been tuckered out after our night our last night, because he slept from 10:30 to 4 with one quick wake up when we put him in his crib. N had a blast at school and slept until 7. He keeps asking to decorate the tree, so that is on the agenda. N has a make up swim class this morning, and I am planning to go to Michaels since I never made it yesterday. Tonight we're going to the trolley museum to see Santa. We've gone during the day before but have never gone at night.
Morning all! We have our family outing tonight. Dinner at Cracker Barrel amd then going to a historic home all decorated for Christmas. I want to take the Christmas Card picture even though I might not send out a whole bunch this year. We only got 2 cards so I kind of don't see putting in all the time and money. We may just do them for close family and post it on Facebook for everyone else. I have to check Walgreens to see if they are putting their photo books on sale and find out how many Redbox codes I need to buy.
DD slept from 11-7:30 last night!🙌🏻 However, I was up for 3 hours with horrible gas/stomach pains. They've finally subsided, but I would have loved that sleep.
We didn't venture out at all yesterday, so I think we might try to do something today even if it is just going to visit Nana and Papa next door.
Super icy here right now, but will warm up later and be above 60 tomorrow. So confusing. Today i am taking DS1 to a birthday party, then DH and I are going to a work holiday party tonight. So excited for that.

DD has two nights in a row of awesome sleep. She slept 10 hours straight last night! DH let me sleep in a little as well. We don't have any plans for today, but I need to go grocery shopping and I might go get a pedicure later. I bought stuff to make Grinch rice krispie treats too!
DH took DD1 out in the snow for a little bit this am, while I snuggled a napping DD2. Ive been online trying to find some new boots and something to wear for christmas. We're going to be doing some last minute shopping soon. We also have food shopping and a Costco run at some point. Tomorrow is Christmas with FIL. We're hosting Christmas day, though my mother is doing a lot of the cooking, and I want to clean the house too. But not too much because it'll get messed up during the week. So much to do and not enough time in the day, plus kids. Oy.

Power went out for an hour this morning. I got us all packed up to go to a friend's while DS cried the entire time. Came back on as I was sticking him in the car seat. Thank goodness. Gonna stay packed just on case.
MIL arrives in 6 hours, DH in 12. Got to get the house more clean before they get here. Sad I lost an hour.

Roads and sidewalks are so icy here that I don't think that we'll be able to go to DS1's friend's birthday party. Sad for him, and sad for me because I can't take MIL's talking.

C's sleep is all messed up. She has a flat spot on the back of her head that I don't like so I'm trying to get her out of the rock n play and she is not liking the pack n play. Up every hour from 830 until 1130 when I gave in and put her in the rock n play. Then a two hour stretch and then a three hour stretch. The longer stretches on the later part of the night don't help that much when the first part has sucked so much.
I have my cranky panties on today. I'm tired, I feel fat and the damn holidays and all the good food are really hampering any effort I'm making to lose some fat, and my toddler is touching everything. Hopefully I can stop being so pissy by the time by mom and her husband come over for our xmas today.
It's been snowing for almost 24 hours. Then it's supposed to rain tonight. Usually we get groceries on Saturday morning but it's too yucky out to leave the house. I shovelled this morning but you can't tell.
Those beautiful tree of life breastfeeding pictures are making their rounds on Facebook and they are giving me all the feels. It makes me even more sad that I can't breastfeed and have beautiful pictures like that. It's not really the same with a bottle. And also can't take selfies while bottle feeding since it isn't hands free.
Had a great time at my company holday party yesterday. We always go out for drinks after, so a bunch of us went out and the place we went to had my favorite beer and my 2nd favorite beer on tap. I was psyched!
I'm feeling really lazy today. My girls were just out playing in the snow and DS was taking a nap, but it didn't last very long. He has been sleeping so much better the past few nights - only one wake-up per night. I think he's finally gotten used to the crib. I can't wait for him to drop the one feeding, but this is great compared to what he was doing. I'll take it!

Waiting for baggage at the airport, MIL is home with DS. Should have had her pick him up instead, she even offered. DH's flight was delayed an hour to boot so I am going to get almost zero sleep tonight. Ugh. Should have had a little more caffeine to get us home. I am exhausted and DH can't see/drive in the dark, let alone in the dark with uber reflective wet/icy roads. Glad he is home safe tho.
Hope they don't mind a small lack of groceries. We have basics but I wasn't about to take DS in all the cold and ice for an extended trip when I knew MIL would want to go tomorrow anyway.
DH is down and out with the stomach bug. So an extra day of solo parenting here. As much as I love christmas, I'm getting panicky about getting everything done and panicky about if I did enough for everyone. Some people just get gift cards every year because I see them once a year and really don't know what else to get them. My house is a disaster on the daily, and we're hosting. And I continue to feel guilty about DD2 being in a seat all the time, and DD1 not having much one on one attention/playing. I've been getting a break or two each week but it's been spent rushing around for Christmas stuff. I feel bad it's not been enough to not be burnt out by constant toddler and newborn needs.
Yes (I think). It was only part one of the finale right?! I LOVE Laurence's collection. If she doesn't win I will be disappointed. Erin is a looney tune lol but it is SO her. Roberi and Ric's collections don't do anything for me.
So 99% sure I have mastitis. Of course, my OB won't call antibiotics in and wants me to be checked out. They have no after hours appts available today, and the urgent care has a 160 minute wait. Ya, not happening. The other local urgent care isn't affiliated with my doctor, so I wonder if they will be able to do anything? I have an appt there at 2:30. Give me the drugs doc, I feel like absolute crap.

My H was out of town fri night until late this morning. His group worked all day and all night yesterday and then he had to drive home almost 3 hrs this morning with no sleep. Poor guy. My day wasn't very good yesterday either. The kids were wild and I took DD2 to urgent care and she has an ear infection. She's handling it pretty well though. Thank goodness my mom came yesterday to help so I didn't have to take all 4 to urgent care. I was so tired and wanted to go to bed early but didn't get the baby to stay passed out until 1130PM. At least she slept all night until 8AM. I really need to start wrapping presents tonight and this week. I may need some more wrapping paper.

adouces06 so sorry. I've never been able to get the doc to call in meds for me either. One time when I went into urgent care the doc asked where the baby was. Dude, I barely have the strength to hold him to nurse, I'm not lugging a him to the doc!
Hope you get the antibiotics soon and are on the mend!
Managed to get in at the urgent care. She thinks it is mastitis, but I am not presenting any redness so she thinks its early. Hopefully that will make recovery better. On keflex now.i need to start taking probiotics because the last thing I want it a yeast infection on top of it. Thanks for all the well wishes!

sanibel21 I feel the same way about Christmas and the rush to get presents done.
Thanks to H's school AG has tons more presents and some nicer stuff than she would have gotten with his check being short 2 weeks ago. The school gave him a bunch of nice presents. We even have a few to spare for our little cousins. I have 3 pages to finish in the photo books and am watching for them to go on sale. Redbox codes and popcorn are easy and quick for my bils family and our cousins. I told H we aren't giving our nephews in 6th and 8th grade $20 each this year. Same for our niece and nephews on the other coast. That's $100 we'll save right there. My aunt and uncles didn't get my brother and I anything that I can remember. I want to make ornaments for HL's first Christmas and give them out too. I need to print the pictures for them. Christmas cards need to get done too.
Sending healthy vibes to all those who need them! I was just thinking we've been very lucky this far, getting away with a random here-today-gone-tomorrow fever DS1 had in October and mild colds a couple weeks ago. Of course I probably jinxed myself just thinking that.
We've had a quiet weekend at home, which felt much needed. I wish I could catch up on sleep somehow though. It's really starting to catch up to me. Is it just me? I felt like I was doing pretty well, but this past week has been bad. It's such a struggle to get going in the morning. Every time someone asks me what I want for Christmas the answer is always, "8-10 hours of uninterrupted sleep."
DS1 pooped on the potty tonight. I'm...cautiously optimistic.
Both little are in bed and, after the goat rodeo that was getting him to poop, I can't decide if I want to sleep or have a(nother) beer.

My 2.5 year old had the most epic awful behavior day yesterday. He literally climbed in my bed and pissed in it (this was after dinner last night) which capped off a lovely day. Today we had a family thing and I just took my oldest, so a break from the ridiculous toddler and also a cranky baby.
Tomorrow starts day 1 of 3 of me by myself with all 3 kiddos and I am dreading it. We also go visit Santa tomorrow.
