I think I killed the old thread with my bad news, so let's start fresh. What's everybody up to this weekend?
Snow today then freaking cold tomorrow (high is -3). We'll probably grocery shop and run a few errands today since DH has snow tires, then not leave the house tomorrow.

Don't think that! I hate what your mom and your family are going through, but I'm glad you can come here and talk to us about it.
My MIL's birthday was yesterday so H's family is coming over for dinner tonight. We got about 7 inches of snow since 1am so H is out cleaning up (while I sit on the couch with a sleeping R watching Happy Feet). Our lab was so excited to see the snow this morning!
Tomorrow is looking like 50 and rain so the snow won't last. We need rain so I'll take it. Plus it's football day so I wouldn't be leaving the house anyway.
Today is chili and I love it. Got my bloodwork done today and spent a small fortune on formula. Right now I'm watching Despicable me with DD.
I love that movie! How have things been going with you and your treatment? Sorry if this is too invasive.
ETA: just read the other thread. Yay for your last treatment!
Nope, not too invasive, and thank you for checking on me.
Yes it will be my last treatment. I'm both happy and scared about that. Happy cuz duh it's my last one. Scared for 2 reasons, 1: the recovery after my last 2 treatments was awful, like, beyond awful, I've been so sick, so I'm scared about how awful this one will be. 2: I'm scared of whatever is next. Throughout chemo I knew what was next: bloodwork, see Dr, treatment, repeat in 3 weeks and get a Lupron shot every 4 weeks. Now that I'm at the end of this I'll have tests done again and some kind of surgery. But not knowing exactly how things will go scares me.
I see my Dr tomorrow, I hope to get a plan of action then, and hopefully that will put my nerves to rest.
It went fine, but I'm getting sick already (wasn't planning on getting sick till the 26th based on prior treatments. Guess my body has other plans). But, it's the last one. I'll still have to go in for Herceptin (it's an antibody and not actual chemo) every 3 weeks, but getting off of Perjeta will really be nice! (Perjeta is the one making me the sickest, but it seems to be doing its job)
Getting my first mamogram in January. Oh joy! I need to call to make my appt for an MRI too, hopefully for that same week (first week of jan). Then meet with my Dr, then call my surgeon. I'll most likely get surgery the third ish week of January. Hoping for a lumpectomy of one breast and not a mastectomy. I'll also be getting some lymph nodes removed.

You are so strong beckyrosen! That's good that you'll be off of the Meds that make you the sickest (is that a word?) and that you have a plan in place now. I hope you don't feel too awful over the holiday.

Ugh, Christmas Day just got really busy...
Typically we do Christmas Eve dinner with MH's family (immediate and extended) then Christmas morning breakfast with my immediate family followed by my extended family's late lunch/dinner.
MH now wants to fit in a visit to his parents' house on Christmas between my family's breakfast and dinner, even though we'll see them Christmas Eve "because they'd appreciate it". I felt bad saying no so I agreed.
We now have 12+ hours of driving and visiting. I was looking forward to the 4-5 hour break in between breakfast and dinner. I don't see the little guy napping too well that day either since he doesn't nap well anyway.
This is what our typical Christmas looks like but we decided now that we have 3 kids, Christmas Day will be spent at our house then we will travel the 26--1st to visit my parents (they're 6 hours away) and the rest of my extended family. It's just too much for us and little kids.
Good luck LadyNymeria We used to go to NJ Christmas Eve then RI Christmas Day. After we got married we started doing DHs family for thanksgiving and just stayed in NJ for Christmas. We see the in laws either the weekend before or after.

Wish us luck!
After all that, while we were on the way from his parents house to my aunt's house MH apologized for making us go to his parents house and said no more 3 stops on Christmas. Wish he had realized that it was going to be a pain in the ass before yesterday!
