Ugh. I'm just left with finishing up stocking stuffers. I get so burned out by Christmas at this point in the holiday season. I also have no closet space, since that is the only place to hide presents. Can't even get to my freaking underwear without causing an avalanche of Amazon boxes. I will be glad when the actual day is here and I get my space back.
My kids have actually been awesome- we went through their toys and got rid of a TON, which they chose to donate to a local children's shelter instead of selling at a yard sale. Made me very proud of them. I also took the last of the "baby" stuff to a local resale shop and got some cash for that. MH asked me for another kid last week and this was my way of reinforcing my emphatic NO on the subject. DONE, buddy. DONE.
littlelion I've been wanting to see The Good Dinosaur. Lo is still stuck on Finding Dory and all the holiday specials. Oh and we did our Xmas cards from Costco 2 years in a row now. I'm happy with how they turned out and you can't beat the price! ourcrazynavylife cardiology? Hope everything is ok!
It's super cold here today, so we're just hanging out at home. Lo is still snotty, but he's cheerful and his appetite seems to be coming back. I ended up redoing our salt dough ornaments. Once we painted the Santas on the original ornaments, you couldn't even tell there was a handprint there. I made sure to squish his hand into the dough really good this time. I should probably wrap things today too.
Hello! I am so glad we have prime! Christmas snuck up on me this year. We have the last of the gifts for the kids coming Wednesday. I still need to mail out my nieces presents, but it's OK if they come after the actual day. I also have to finish up grandparents gifts. For the g-mas we are doing oven mitts with hand prints on them they say helping hands and for the g-pas we are doing canvases with hand prints and letting the kids paint them.
I am 32 weeks today! The end is sight, the contractions are still with me but luckily they are not causing cervical changes. I really need to get organized for baby, I have done nothing. Makes you feel sorry for the 3rd kid.

Nah, just shows you are a pro. Or at least that's what I tell my 3rd and 4th when explaining why I have no baby keepsakes of theirs 🙈.

Damn pipes froze while we went to my parents' this weekend. FIL came over and turned our faucets on but it didn't stop them from freezing. Aaaaaand I sure did bust one (we think) trying to do laundry as soon as we got home. Aaaaand my cats killed a mouse while we were gone. In the living room. And LO touched it. So I'm basically ready to move out of my house like right now. Don't even care about packing. Just abandon ship. In other news, it's a short work week and I'm really glad. My gift wrapping enthusiasm has disappeared and I need to get busy. Blah. Happy Monday!

I feel so satisfied whenever lo's room isn't a train wreck. I picked up all the books & toys. Put away all the diapers. And finally cleaned out all the 18 month stuff from her closet so DH will stop dressing her in too small clothes.

I just had to do that too! He was cramming her into whatever he could find. Like come on, dude.

My H tried to put a jacket on lo the other day. It was sized 12 months. #facepalm
Hi everyone! I feel like I'm so behind on Christmas. Still need to shop for our room parents and get something small for my students. I think I'll do this for my room moms! and my classroom aid too- I was thinking of a small Starbucks, Panera bread and manicure gift card? Does that sound ok?
Is anyone dealing with a very strong willed "spirited" toddler such as mine that is having a terrible time with them right now? I blame his speech delays for a lot of it but holy hell, this child. All of a sudden he's hitting and slapping and screaming?! How are people handling this? He has no fucks to give about time outs, I've been trying that. He even pinched his speech therapist yesterday, I was absolutely mortified. Omg! Where did my sweet baby go? Pic of the devil in question.

I totally bombed salt dough. I scrapped it all together. I can never get it right! Glad yours turned out ok the second time!

sgio7485 Leo tried to stab my sister with his fork at lunch today. Other than that, it's a lot of no's and sometimes throwing or banging toys. What works for us is bribery...no watching tv or getting a favorite snack.
kcrus I love your idea of donating toys before xmas. That's awesome that your kids were on board! I'd like to do that after the holidays. I feel like we have SO much clutter and it stresses me out. nemomof2 prime has saved me more times than I can remember! ourcrazynavylife hope your cardio appt went well today. laceysbryan omg I hope your Tuesday was better than your Monday! sgio7485 sorry you and Leo are having such a rough time. We've had a lot of sass and bossiness lately (his new favorite is telling us to "go away." Where did he even learn that?) When he was in a hitting phase we checked out some kids books on not hitting and did automatic time out. Hang in there, hopefully this is a short rough patch. How is speech going?
Dh has lo's cold now, so I'm sure I'm next in line to get it. I found out he has this Friday through the new year off, so that was a pleasant surprise. I got most everything wrapped today, just need to finish up some odds and ends.
Can't tell you how much I needed to see something like this today. Thank you.
I needed to see this too. Dh and I had a conversation over the weekend about how I need to get better at taking time for me and not feeling guilty about it. I really struggle with that. 🙁
