I went to the grocery store today because I didn't want to wait until Monday. This was a bad idea. People were being patient but there were so many of them. Oh well, one chore off my list.
We are doing nothing the rest of the day. I should wrap DS gifts but he honestly has so many that I'll probably split them over the next three days. Only three of them are from me/DH. My mom sent a ton and all three of my siblings sent him stuff.
And you'll get used to the minivan. I went from a coupe to a compact SUV three years ago because we had two big dogs and were trying for kids. At this point I almost wish I had gone minivan except I love my Subaru and they don't make minivans. But it's gonna be a little cramped with two rear facing seats.
So we were supposed to go to a friends house for dinner tonight and we cancelled. Her DH is sick apparently. I'm immunocompromised because of my IVIG infusions and exhausted so...I didn't have the motivation.
On the IL pot situation: we have been told that BIL and FIL keep getting offered pot. BIL bought a fat joint and apparently MIL keeps asking if BIL really did buy pot and if he will share. DH is exasperated and keeps saying "what is going on down there!"
We went to brunch at a friend's house this morning, and it was delicious. She made a french toast casserole thing that I need the recipe for. Then we took the dogs for a walk and relaxed as we watched Elf. Excellent xmas eve, and it's brought up my spirits a bit.
In a few minutes we're skyping with a northern friend, who is also pregnant
mustloveerica, I hope you love your minivan! Everyone I know who has one swears by them.
We have done 2 out of 3 Christmas parties this weekend and need to get going to the last one but I just want a nap. Yes I realize it's 5pm, but I am exhausted. Plus, my family just got CAH and I just want to stay here, drink sparkling juice, and play.
Ooh now I want to make French Toast casserole but it probably has too many carbs for me. I bet my mom would make it for me after the baby comes...
I should make a list of all the treats I'm missing out on...
Let's compile a list. I'm so super strict with my Celiac this pregnancy and my metabolic disorder is the nail in the food coffin.
I would like French fries, a salad (too filling for not enough calories), an Italian sub. Oh man, yes, and Italian sub. A chai latte. Hmm...a pizza from this amazing GF restaurant in Boston - prosciutto and fig. Yum.
Oof, celiac is so tough. Two of my friends are severely gluten intolerant. At least for me I know the gestational diabetes is temporary and someday I can eat a cookie guilt-free again.
-French toast or French toast casserole -Mashed potatoes -Fudge -Holiday latte (they will probably be out of the syrups before I deliver) -French fries -Chocolate orange (I haven't seen these anywhere this year. I should look on Monday and stash it) -Apple crisp/ apple pie
The speech that I knew was coming made me cry of course, she mentioned my dad and I lost it. Then because I'm carrying the baby, I got to put baby Jesus in the manger so that was sweet.

DH and I are not exchanging gifts, we typically don't. We'd rather save money for house stuff or travel. And if either of us really need something we just buy it for ourselves.
Plus we just got married and are having a baby so people have been spoiling us all year!

I let DS open a small amount of gifts. He loved everything. He even insisted on trying on his new shirt and then his new jammies. He's gonna be pumped for more gifts tomorrow!
