My one year old isn't feeling well, at 1am she projectile vomited all over me. Ofcourse I then ended up throwing up to 😩 I'm tired and ready for bed again.
Christmas ended with a midnight trip to the pediatric ER for us. DD has Toxic Synovitis. A virus settled in her joints causing her to limp and run a very high fever. The NP and Doctor on call wanted her to go in immediately, so we did.
We got the fever down but she's still not herself. I'm working from home so I can try to keep an eye on her and the meds flowing.
Oh I have a question. We told our kiddos about the new baby yesterday. I know sooner or later my almost seven year old is going to start having lots of questions about things. Any tips for age appropriate responses? I'm not going to lie, but I don't need her having any graphic conversations with the kids at school.

ajetter good luck with a hopefully uneventful ride home. We just told our 3 yesterday. My almost seven year old asked right away how that happened! I panicked! Then I just told him that God decided it was time for another baby to be in my tummy. Then he said well that is exciting. That was that. He was content with a fast easy to understand answer. He did ask about how the baby comes out last time with ds2. That was a fun conversation. He then told my niece all about it! My sil was so mad at me!
Definitely a quiet day here, tired but my 10 month old has been sleeping like crap so I'm sure that also plays in. Not nauseated but walking around sucking in the bloat to avoid questions from family.
I'm staying at my dad's house visiting for the next couple of days. We told everyone yesterday and then put it on Facebook so I am officially out to the world. I don't go back to work for another week, so I'm enjoying the time off. Hope everyone's holiday went well!
Sounds like a few of you had a rough night! I hope your little ones get better quickly!!
I went to see my BFF for the first time today since she moved back to TN. She's 6 months pregnant. I just wanted to snuggle her precious belly. I can't wait to get to that point!
We haven't told people yet about baby #2 and of course of all years I got gifted a ton of alcohol for gifts!! I guess I'll save the fancy champagne for August??

Well I made it through Christmas without alerting my family so I consider that a big success. Today all the MS but thankfully DS is worn out from the last two days of craziness and is quietly playing with his new toys.

Random question. Are diaper bags needed? I saw a cute, basic black one today that could eventually be used for other purposes later. But I wasn't sure if a diaper bag is necessary.

You'll need a big enough bag to toss extra and outfits, diapers, wipes, changing pad etc into but it doesn't have to be one marketed as a diaper bag. I like that those ones usually come with a plasticized changing pad but you can get changing pads separately.
I love my diaper bag that looks like a big purse. I also have one that's more messenger bag style but it doesn't fit as much. Then I also have the super basic nestle diaper bag I got for free, that I sometimes send with H, and now that DS is older I'll often toss some wipes, diapers, and a spare outfit in one of my smaller regular purses.
Basically if you'll use it again and the price is right I'd get it as long as it's roomy with lots of pockets/compartments

There are plenty of ways to get around it, whatever bag works for you is fine. I love having a big diaper bag with lots of pockets. I have a Lily Jade bag. They're pricey, but I have used it for almost two years straight so I don't really feel guilty about it. You can buy their inserts separately to stick in any bag you want, and the insert is amazing. I love have the backpack style bag so my hands are free.

DS is 2.5 and I still use my diaper bag. It's practically empty now, but I toss my things in there and don't carry a purse. When he was under one though, it was packed with baby essentials, and I don't think I could have managed without it. But any bag that works for you is fine, doesn't have to be a "diaper" bag.

DD got croup so we had to go to the urgent care in my hometown, then soon after getting home with the meds, DH and I came down with a bug. I have a stomach bug and haven't been able to keep even water down for 12 hours now. I'm worried about dehydration and do not want to have to go back to urgent care for an IV. Oh and we fly home tomorrow. Nightmare

I'm so tired of building legos. I got some cool stuff for Christmas. My mom got me this cleansing oil from DHC and I'm obsessed with it. I also got a Himalayan salt lamp which is so pretty but DH thinks I'm crazy. He says it can only go in our bedroom because he doesn't want his friends to see it. Also, I finally have a full length mirror in my house. I don't know how I've gone so long without one. And now today I have to work. I have so many chart notes to finish before the end of the year, but I'll probably fuck around all day.
