We smelled gas at the ILs this morning so the gas company is here now checking for a leak. My MIL and FIL said they couldn't smell anything but my H and I were choking it was so strong. So glad we were here.
That is scary!
They found the leak - it was in the line going to the water heater. Glad they came out so quickly!
We're going! I texted H's friend and asked if there was room for a pnp and could I come early so I could get w fed. He said of course and sounded really excited that we were coming. Hopefully we'll get to hang out for awhile and W will sleep in the pnp.
packmomma I'm glad you're going. I've found that it's good to stick with the routine most of the time but to be able to flex things when there is good reason. There are times that DH and I know that messing with the schedule could potentially make some things more difficult with the kids but we decide that it's worth it to get the benefit of spending time with friends or doing something we really don't want to miss out on. It doesn't happen that often and usually the kids adapt pretty well. I don't think it's ever been disastrous.
Well the night was wasted on me. I didn't drink because there were (no exaggeration) at least 20 kids running around being loud as fuck and I was worried that I'd need to nurse him back down/leave. I did have a nice conversation with our friends mom though. Next time I'm buying a cheap monitor so I can go outside near the fire. Because everyone was so loud I was worried we wouldn't hear him crying so I was just just a bundle of nerves. H got to hang with his friend though so that's cool.
packmomma, sorry about all the kids being loud and not letting you relax. I vote for a cheap portable monitor and white noise machine to have on hand for the next occasion...we used both on our trip this week and I find I'm able to relax much more when I'm not thinking about checking in on A to see if the noise has woken her.
packmomma, I'm sorry the night wasn't particularly relaxing. Good for you for going though. Now you know you guys can do it the next time an occasion comes up that conflicts with bedtime. It's awesome that W fell asleep in the pack n play! Were you able to get him home without too much of a problem?
So I had to take a percocet again tonight after not needing it at all in the past 2 days because I started coughing and was dying of pain. I felt like my stitches were going to pop. Fuck everyone who gave me this cold.
It also meant I was out of commission at bedtime tonight so H had to bathe all 3 kids by himself. I have zero fucks to give.
aydee he went back down in the car easily because I sang him Etta James and I was able to put him to bed with a little rocking when we got home. H took the monitor last nigjt and he didn't wake up until 8!!!
