How was the holiday? Your kids love it? Mine daughter could of cared less about one damn toy lol the winning gift was a little fabric rocking chair, she climbed in and off that for hours lol
My son who's 3, couldn't open gifts fast enough lol as soon as one was opened he asked if he could open another.
It was a busy weekend both crashed hard tonight lol I have off tomorrow so it will be nice to have another day just to stay in and play

We had fun. MIL went overboard as usual. I went through the playroom to purge old things they don't play with and most of it was her gifts from last year lol. I'm even donating some of her new gifts because some of them are just rediculous I'm not bothering to take them out of the box.
DD1 was also just into the unwrapping and all of her sisters toys, obviously. DD2 had some toys she loved. Anything soft, and plush like her new house coat and a new blanket. She also loves the bubble machine from Santa. BIL got her this house that makes door and doorbell noises and and plays music. She's pretty fond of that.
Today was a clean up day because everybody is coming here tomorrow. I'm glad we changed the day to give us more time to recover. The kids were beat.

Our big hit was the Beatbot and her Leaptop. She loved it!
She was really into opening presents. By the end of the day though she was exhausted and actually STTN. She was down at 730 and I didn't hear a peep until 6.

I posted, but the internet seems to have eaten it.
We had a great day relaxing at home and then at our friends' house. E's favorites were the Mickey Mouse that sings the "hot dog" song and her toddler sled. We took her on a sled ride in the hall and on the grass since we don't have snow. She loved it tried to buckle herself back when I was getting her out. She had a blast opening gifts. She knows who Santa is and that he says "ho ho ho" although she says "ah ah ah".

I thought E would be into unwrapping presents but he would do one rip and was done lol. MIL got him a giant keyboard which he seems to like but it's super loud and annoying so off to MIL house it goes! He liked the small cars that came along with a ride along my cousin got him but when we put him on it, he just screamed. All in all I think he was pretty indifferent to xmas.
The grandparents sent a lot of stuff but, thankfully, they didn't go overboard with toys. The kids got lots of new cloths and books too. DS isn't old enough to care too much but my daughter loved opening presents. I got her one of those hatchimals...she asked me for one back in October so I was able to get her one at retail price before they sold out everywhere. She loves it...but it is annoying. Never buy your kid a robot anything lol.
She is now telling me what she wants for Easter and her birthday....sigh.
We also had fun making cookies and playing in the snow.

E had a great time. She loved unwrapping gifts, but pulling tissue out of the bags seemed to confuse her. She is obsessed with her play kitchen and all the things that go with it, especially the little coffee/tea/hot chocolate pods and coffee pot. She likes her Little People princess castle, too. I wish MIL would have gotten her pretty much any other Little People set, but...it is what it is. She cuddles her teddy and asks for her new books all the time.
We used her new bath toys for the first time tonight. The foam shapes were a big hit.

My DD is in heaven- she thinks any gift that C got is also free reign for her. Her faves were her Minnie Mouse microwave and Frozen tea set. C is just happy to be here. Lol! He doesn't seem to favor any one toy but rather wants to play w whatever DD has at the moment.
sunfrogger88, how does E like the latch puzzle. C doesn't care too much about it 😐

Yes! DD1 is over the moon with all "her" new toys.

Not going to lie, I thought this thread was going to be a pregnancy announcement or something.
We had a great Christmas! Both girls got super spoiled by everyone so lots of Jew stuff to hopefully keep us occupied through the winter. DD2 loves her little people castle and the Mickey Mouse stuffed animal.
A screamed for 3hrs on the way to GILs. Wouldn't go down when we got there. Got himself so worked up he threw up mucus. Managed to keep water down by 7am. I threw up in the middle of this- I have GERD and accidentally drank some OJ, all the bending over and cleaning up vomit got to me. Couldn't sleep in, couldn't nap, so I spent my day like a zombie. The next morning MH came down with the stomach flu, A refused to even put food in his mouth. I spent 2 days chasing cranky sick toddlers around a house that was the opposite of childproofed while my ILs made comments like, "sit, there's 6 adults here, it's ok" and anytime I took my eyes off them or let someone else watch them I found one of my kids about to stick their fingers in an outlet or at the top of the stairs. Christmas morning both kids refused to eat, and the ILs kept talking to them whenever they had food in their mouths, so they spit it out. And then MH walked in the room and was a complete ass. I broke down, his grandmother laughed at me and I flipped out.
In the middle somewhere, my kids had a blast with their cousin and Aunts and Uncles. So I'm trying to focus on that. But man am I glad it's over

Oh god, no, the shop is closed over here lol
Oh and I can't stop laughing at what I am guessing is a typo?
Hey thanks for letting me vent. It's almost comical how bad it was. I love my ILs, but MH and I agreed we'll stay in a hotel next time. Staying with his grandma was just too much- she's lovely but her OCD and old school weirdness just sent me over the edge

Ugh yes haha I have no idea why my phone insists on changing new. It almost just did it again too.

Uggg I'm glad to be home! DD ended up getting the flu Friday (now we know) and was out of sorts for xmas. Then got croup Sunday, we took her to urgent care Monday after which DH and I both came down with the flu. It was terrible. It's terrible being sick, but being at someone else's house is miserable.
I think we decided that we aren't staying with my brother anymore, or borrow my parents cars. I'm worried about offending my family and the cost, but his daughters are sick every time we come and the fact that they didn't warn me that they thought their 1 yo had what they thought was bronchitis sucked. So of course DD got sick, again. But this time it was scary. Their full size guest bed sucks even more when sharing it with a toddler. We borrowed my mom's car which reaked of smoke. Usually we borrow my dad's car, which now has heat again, but feels like the transmission is going to break. I feel like a bitch, but I think comfort is going to be worth the crazy cost to start renting a car and hotel for our visits. And I can't worry about a car breaking down with two babies. I'm probably still just pissed about being super sick for half of the trip, but it wasn't really enjoyable and made me sad.

ldubhawksfan I'm so sorry, that's so stressful. We decided a couple years ago that we would start staying in a hotel when we go to MA to visit extended family. It's made life so much easier when we travel. Hugs! I hope you and your DD are recovering!

If you can afford it, finding like a VRBO apartment or a hotel when you visit family would be nice. When we went to visit my in-laws, we were going to do this but they convinced us not to. Well, we had 10 people staying in my husband's grandmother's house at one point. It was super stressful. They gave us a nice room but DS was very young and it was really hard to get sleep with that many people in the house. If we had rented an apartment, it would have been way less stressful for me. We did rent our own car though which was good.

We do that often in other locations but my hometown has like none. We looked it up after having DD. Too small of a community.
I had my family rent a house for our wedding when they came out for it though. Fun!
