I know the other thread was a weekend thread, but it feels like a new year deserves its own conversation. Good morning ladies! How are we all feeling? Anyone nursing a nasty hangover? Anyone realizing juuuuust how different mom NYE is from pre-kid NYE?

Wine and board games here. Ended up in bed around 1130 but I drank tons of water so no hangover. I am tired though, because he was up at 11,2,5 then 630
Married 10/10/10! TTC Baby #1 since April 2014 BFP Oct 16 - EP terminated Nov 6 2014 Off the Bench January 2015! BFP #2 June 1 2015 - EDD Feb 12 2016! Baby Boy born 15th February 2016!
Our NYE was actually about the same as it has been for the last few years. We're lame, lol.
We've definitely reached the stage of wanting to do/eat everything the same as mom and dad. If I chunk off some banana for him but he catches me taking a bite of the remainder (still in peel), he won't eat his until I let him bite off like I did. He wants full everything, not just chunks. He yells when I don't give him my coffee. If I'm sitting on the couch, he wants to play on the couch. Etc etc. Okay kid, I get it, I'm so cool you want to be just like me. But let me eat my damn breakfast! Lol.
tkford216 with DS it was like as soon as he hit his 1st bday he was like that with food. And actually he started to suddenly not like or eat some of the foods he loved. I don't know if he got sick of them or if he thought they were too baby for him but he didn't touch spaghetti (or anything small and noodle like) and some of his favorite purées too. I have a picture of him holding a whole enchilada because it's the only way he'd take it.
Morning! H left at about 5am and DD was up at 6:20 so she's already in her first nap. We are going to go visit and play at my moms this afternoon to get out of the house. I guess we're expecting another blizzard to start tonight and going until Tuesday morning. Several inches of snow expected again. I have a meeting Tuesday morning so I need to stop by my office today and get the phone number of the parent I'm meeting, just in case we end up with a snow day so I can call her from home to cancel/reschedule. I hope it doesn't turn out bad enough to need to stay home Tuesday, I hate rescheduling meetings.

Exactly this. It's been a challenge getting him to eat lately because he seems bored or "too toddler" for his usual stuff and only wants to eat if I give things to him in a new, more adult or fun way. Stinker.
tkford216 I've been unable to eat or drink anything for a while now. Or use the remotes. Or my laptop. Oh did I mention I work full time on my laptop and we had no daycare? A good time was had by all!
Happy 2017 ladies!! We went to bed at 11:30 and then I was rudely woken up by fireworks a few houses down. My neighborhood is about as quiet as it gets, so I was shocked. We are doing absolutely nothing today and it feels wonderful.
apunicorn It forces me to eat healthier, knowing he's going to want some of what I have. So, silver lining, I guess? When does day care start back up again?
My H just got royally screwed at work. They've been pushing him and coaching him for a particular position down the road. He's been making his career choices based on that assumption. And now it appears they might be going a different direction, but have not said anything to my H about it. He now is stuck working in a different office, a lateral move, instead of going up like he had thought would be happening. Ugh, politics.

H told my ILs we would come over today so I'm stuck here. He also said we're staying for dinner. DD2 refuses to nap here so that makes for a super fun time. I'm grumpy about it. I brought my planner and have been working on goals for the new year though. So far I've made spreads for putting $250 into savings every month and to exercise 100 times during the year. I think those are attainable.
Anybody else's baby hate the changing stations in public bathrooms? As soon as I set him down he freaks, shaking like he's scared and crying. Idk if it feels unstable or what, but it happens every single time.

Yes, both girls hate (or hated) it. I think they feel like they are going to fall.

I think I said I was going to do this a couple days ago, but I finally threw away all the treats and leftovers from Christmas. And I'm not impressed with the amount of large dishes it has left me with. 👎🏻
One kid in bed, one to go. We're watching Paw Patrol on my bed and then he'll be off. He was annoyingly hyper tonight but it entertained DD while I cleaned out the fridge and such. It's always the stuff I find annoying or that I think is too rough that she finds the funniest. Because of course.

My kid hates diaper changes in general lately. The only way I can get him to lay still is to have a bottle ready for him to hold and drink from. But even then it doesn't always work.

Ew I don't use them. Lol 😱
Where do you do diaper changes when out and about? This kid is too big to do in the back seat now. If there is a single stall family restroom, I use that and just do it on the floor (I bring a pad with me), but otherwise I'm kind of stuck.
Yay for sleeping in your bed! That's the best after traveling!
He pooped today, after an hour of struggling with him. I keep wanting to leave it and make him deal with it and work itself out, eventually it's gotta just come out right? But then I see him holding back and I literally can't keep myself from letting it go. So yeah, it was quite the battle today.

Honestly I guess we don't get out much. Lol. The only time we're gone long enough to need a diaper change (unless we are at someone's house) is if we are out of town and I usually just do it in the car.

Same, if I have my car then I just do it there. But of course if I don't have my car and decide to go to a cafe 0.5 miles away the baby is guaranteed to poop.
