Upcoming appointments this week? Wednesday morning.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new this week
Rants/Raves/Questions: I really wish this lingering cough that C gave me would go away, I wake up coughing and it takes forever to fall back asleep.
Bump picture: none this week. Though I really should start taking them. With DS1 I took them every week starting the day I found out I was pregnant. I haven't taken a single one yet this time.
Upcoming appointments this week? None until 1/27 when we have our AS scan!
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing much, things have been calm *knocks on all the wood*
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am super irratated with my doctor. They don't do NT scans routinely because they do "the same type of blood tests at 16 weeks". So I go in at my 16 week appointment and nope, they do a carrier screen which shows us nothing (we have a donor embryo). I specifically asked about this at 12 weeks and was assured it was fine so I was thinking it would be like the Harmony screen or Mat21. Nope. The NP we saw that day was like "well we could do an amino if you really want"......um no I don't want invasive testing, I wanted a freaking NT scan. We will have to wait until the AS scan for the first look at anything.
Bump picture: None yet, bump is still hiding.
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year?
-read a personal development book each month -read a fun book each month -find a church we like and get involved (we have been church hopping since we moved) -Do the Bible in a Year devotion plan -Only eat out once a month] -pay off student loans] -Sustain and grow LLR so once student loans are paid off I can quit my job (I currently make the same amount of money at both) and we can still have the house of our dreams] -biweekly date nights with H -continue working out at least twice a week -after baby comes-lose any weight I may gain as I am sure it is coming -maintain a healthy pregnancy and gain minimally (so far I am at -7 pounds due to giving up all caffeine, soda, unintentionally meat, and not having a huge appetite.

cateyes, I'd be so frustrated with the testing issues too! I feel like your doctor really doesn't get IF or DE at all. Can you switch? (Have we already discussed this? lol)

They don't get it at all. It is a major downfall of smaller town life. They just keep telling me to "relax, everything is normal and enjoy".
I could switch but it would mean going to the next "larger" city which is over an hour away and I am not sure I want to worry about that drive while in labor. Plus, we are trying to do the Bradley method of child birth and want to labor at home as long as possible so an hour car ride could be difficult to manage.
cateyes I would be frustrated with testing too. I wouldn't worry about an hour car ride though with a first baby if you think you'd be getting better care.
Our hospital is at least 40 min away, more with traffic, just because it's in another part of our city. We had a relatively quick labor with our first and still labored at home for hours, waited until contractions were 2 minutes apart for an hour, dropped our dogs off at a friend's house and drove 40 min to the hospital and still got there in enough time to get all checked in and have the baby. Our second baby had to be born at a hospital even further away because of his heart defects, and that was a very quick labor (less than four hours from first noticeable contraction to baby's arrival) and the distance still wasn't an issue.
Our hypnobirthing instructor also suggested that if anyone was really worried about making it to the hospital, you could always drive there whenever and find a relaxing park to hang around and labor in (or the car), and then head into the hospital itself later on. Anyway, sorry this is so long - just wanted to say it may be more of a concern for any subsequent babies, in terms of them coming quicker, but I wouldn't worry too much about an hour drive for a first baby.
cateyes, my hospital is roughly 1:15 from our house. I decided I wanted to keep my OB since she knew about my complications with C. I'll be going in for a RCS this time, so I don't have to worry about labor if at home. (We moved back to our home town after C was born, putting the hospital farther away. But it was still a 40-60 minute drive from our old house- depending on traffic. And is the only location my OB will deliver at.) I think DH was hoping I'd switch OBs and hospitals to the one only 25 minutes away but I didn't like the thought of it since I had complications. If I didn't have the complications I would have probably been willing to switch. But I was afraid I wouldn't get the exact care I would need this time if I made that switch.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Feeling about the same for the most part.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just annoyed with my congestion that never goes away. I always have this problem in my pregnancies.
Bump picture: None yet- but there's definitely a bump and I need to start taking pics!
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year?
-Meal plan every week and stick to it -Pay off one of the cars -Lose this baby weight after baby is born -Make it to the gym Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays/Sundays
Upcoming appointments this week? Not until Jan 27, anatomy scan and appointment
Any new symptoms or changes? My nausea is finally getting better! I haven't taken Zofran and haven't thrown up in a few days! Also, my boobs are already leaking 😳
Rants/raves/questions: I'm just ecstatic that I'm feeling better and can eat!
Bump picture: I didn't take regular pictures last time around and probably won't this time either.
GTKY: I want to do a better job at keeping the house organized. By the end of the week, I feel like we have clutter everywhere!
Last time I don't think they started leaking until 30+ weeks! But I breastfed DD for a little over a year so we just stopped in June. I'm assuming that's why this time around?!

How far along? 18 weeks!
How big is baby? Sweet potato
Team? Don't know yet, but we'll find out
Upcoming appointments? I have one tomorrow, not sure if they'll do they anatomy scan or if they'll wait until next time for that
New symptoms or changes? I think I'm finally past the worst of the morning sickness!! I'm off the B6/Unisom combo and haven't taken any zofran in maybe a week, so I'm really excited about that! I still don't have my appetite back, but I'll take what I can get. I've also gained back what I lost from the stomach bug nightmare.
R/R/Q? My main rant is that traveling for the holidays really screwed up DS's sleep, which means neither of us are getting enough sleep at night and that's making my migraines a whole lot worse. So that's really no fun.
Bump picture: I need to get around to taking one. My bump seems to have magically appeared over the holidays. Or maybe I just ate a lot more, who knows?
GTKY: to make some more IRL mommy friends in my area. We're still relatively new here, but I need to just get out there and meet people.
Upcoming appointments this week? I had an elective ultrasound last week and I didnt see anything, but they were able to capture a picture with boy parts, so I'll trust them, unless my A/s later this month says otherwise. This is the first time my intuition was wrong!
Any new symptoms or changes? So tired. Nausea is back but because of stomach bug.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I feel some movement
Bump picture: barely showing still.
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? Eat healthier.
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling the difference in my center of gravity now
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am feeling fortunate that I am feeling so good right now. I know the major discomfort ia coming so I am enjoying it while I can!
Bump picture: Haven't taken any
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? I didn't make any, but I would like to exercise more regularly
Upcoming appointments this week? 16-week appointment. Nothing exciting, but first one meeting another midwife in my group. They want you to try to meet everyone since whoever's on call when you deliver is who you get.
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling pretty great! Boobs are getting more sore again. Hopefully they're doing something productive in there. Still fighting constipation and gas. Also still randomly gagging.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just trying to hide the pregnancy another 3-4 weeks. No bump, so far so good. I have to skip my first work happy hour on Friday so to not get caught fake drinking.
Bump picture: No bump yet.
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? Almost always the same things, but I have some specific to pregnancy/parenting: - Have a healthy pregnancy - Work as a team with H in parenting - Be fun, loving parents
cateyes - That would have made me insanely ticked off. I'm sorry you didn't get what you expected.
violetrose - I'm hoping how dry it is here during winter will keep the pregnancy congestion at bay for a few more months. Does not sound fun!
bagels - Congrats on team blue! I'm also feeling different things in there, wondering if it's movement or not. It's hard to describe, but it's different from gas.
Upcoming appointments this week? Nothing for the next few weeks, a/s on Jan 24 and Dr appt two days after that.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea is completely gone and I'm hungry most of the time. I have wonderful thick hair but can't enjoy it because I know half of it will fall out after giving birth.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Bump picture: I put one in the hdbd thread.
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? Nothing really, but I'd like to get some closets cleaned out before baby arrives.
How big is baby? avocado, and i read 3.5 ounces online. but per my ultrasound yesterday, she's 6 ounces.
Team? pink!
Upcoming appointments this week? had one yesterday. i see a MFM, so i get a pretty good ultrasound every time! he said everything looks great, totally eased my mind about recent spotting/cramping, and some weird rib pain i've been having. also thrilled to hear i've only gained 2 lbs since my last appt, since i have been eating chick fil a nearly every work day for lunch. oops.
Any new symptoms or changes? cramping, light spotting, CRAZY sharp rib pain if my toddler jabs me - dr said something about relaxin and nerve endings and pretty common. who knew?! also insomnia sucks.
Rants/Raves/Questions? am i crazy for wanting to take DD to disneyland at 32 weeks pregnant? it shouldn't be too hot in april, and we'd have to go back to the hotel to nap every day anyway. RT flights are only $200 and it's kind of our last chance to take DD while she can still get into the parks for free (before age 3).
Bump picture: none...#lazy
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? i don't do resolutions, but i am on a rampage cleaning out/organizing my house. it's a lot of work, but it feels SO GOOD to make some progress!
agm04 I don't think you're crazy for wanting to go to Disneyland at 32 weeks. I will fly through then for work. Plus that time of year after spring break but before school is out shouldn't be insane (though I feel like it's super crowded even on supposedly light days). I think if you stay close and take plenty of breaks you'd be good. If you do have any option to do it a few weeks earlier you might be more comfortable though. We opted to do the Disney resort in Hawaii pre baby to get a bit more relaxation
redrock - I was trying to explain how my uterus feels firmer to my H and he can't understand,. Nice that you've been through it all and can get what your W is experiencing!

How far along are you? 17 weeks
How big is baby? pomegranate/turnip
Team? Pink
Upcoming appointments this week? Regular OB appt on Monday
Any new symptoms or changes? Bump is definitely noticeable to DH and me and my nice friends who nod and smile when I show my bump. Everyone at work is like "um, what bump?" Boobs are big but feeling good overall!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope, just anxiously awaiting anatomy scan on 1/17
Bump picture: I posted on HDBD yesterday
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? I don't really make resolutions but I want to get back into going to the gym now that I have energy back. I've gone twice this week so that's better than it has been.
Upcoming appointments this week? 16 week appointment with OB and elective gender sono was yesterday. Anatomy scan is scheduled for three weeks!
Any new symptoms or changes? I've had a cold the past week. All the sneezing and coughing...so much peeing my pants. I can't even!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have got to figure out a name for this kid. H says he won't talk names with me until I can calm down and think rationally. Ha! That'll never happen!
Bump picture: I'll try to take one for next week!
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? Edit - forgot to answer this - I'll say keep my sanity the second half of the year when I stay home with the kiddos.
Upcoming appointments this week? Not until February 1
Any new symptoms or changes? No more catheter! So far I can pee, so I hope this keeps up. Thanks so much to all of you who offered support and commiseration. It was a tough 3 weeks.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I need to go maternity clothes shopping this weekend. I started at 18 weeks last time, and I can just barely button my pants now, so I know it's coming.
Bump picture: in HDBD
GTKY: What were your New Years resolutions for this year? Exercise most days of the week, clean the house more often
