Heading to storytime today. My Mom and Gran are coming over and going with us, so that should be fun Working on laundry and cleaning today too, super fun. Looking into camping as a vacation this year, mostly because cheap, but we like hiking and such too... If you camp with kids, give me your tips!
@janetheconquerer, 4:30AM?! I'm impressed. I'm impressed by the 5:15's too, skinandbones and @mrs.panpan. I need some of that motivation. I'm trying to switch to morning workouts and it's haaaaarrrrrd.
redandblue, so sorry to hear about DS1. I hope the counselor is helpful for you.

Mine starts in the toddler room next week. Even though he has been in the older infant room the youngest kid in there turned 1 in November and he has been sleeping on a cot since shortly after he turned 1. It was just the way it worked out. Im not worry about the room transition but it will be the first day back in 2 weeks since they were closed last week and we're currently out of town. And they are closed this Thursday and Friday for staff development. I'm definitely ready to get back to a routine.
First day back at work since before Christmas. I've been here for an hour and no one else is here yet. H and I are alternating days off to stay home with A this week - she's doing better, I think the breathing treatments definitely help.
Working from home today. If C sees me, she'll barnacle herself to me so I've been hiding in the office. Now I'm starving but need to wait for my MIL to put her down for a nap. I need to hide snacks in here.
I'm at the mechanic getting my car inspected. There is a lady on the phone calling to complain that a ring she purchased 7 months ago lost a diamond. 7 months ago!
As in she lost a diamond 7 months ago? Or she just purchased the ring 7 months ago and just recently lost the diamond?
But in fairness, at first I thought ring tone not ring on your finger...
I think purchased the ring 7 months and recently noticed the diamond missing.
He's better but has another ear infection. He's losing 1 of his tubes. He was already on thin ice during his last follow up because he had lots of drainage. I think we are looking at another set of tubes plus adenoids removed. I just don't know if we are going to have 3 rounds of antibiotics before surgery like last time or if we can fast track this.
Thanks ladies. So update on DS1. After I bawled myself to sleep, he ended up showing up at home at 12:30, knocking on the door and sheepishly apologizing and saying he will pay for a new door. It was a difficult and very uncomfortable scene, TBH I didn't know what to do. I let him back in and told him we were meeting today to discuss things and clearly lay out expectations. He got up when asked this morning and I reviewed the written house rules and posted them on the fridge. (basics like curfew times, when his phone bill needs to be paid, attending all classes, attending counseling and zero tolerance for violence/aggression and we will review in one month). I went out with DS2 to the childrens museum and return to his added points of "Do not speak unless spoken to", "no emotion", "zero tolerance for any form of outside thought" and changed the title from House Rules to Rules to Conform. Sigh. I am not dealing with a rational person at the moment. Teenagers are hard. At least he is here.
Tl;dr DS1 came home last night, we discussed expectations. Taking it one day at a time.

redandblue I'm so sorry that it's turned out that way. wish I could give you a hug!!
I've been out of commission, I guess L's throwing up wasn't just a one-off. She got lethargic yesterday so I took her in and she's got bronchiolitis. So now she's on a puffer and antibiotics. The family we visited over Christmas has a 6 month old and she told me last night he was being airlifted to the city from up north for the exact same thing. I hope he's ok.
M appears to have had a good first day in the toddler room. He was happy when I got there. He only napped for and hour and 15 minutes, but the afternoon teacher didn't think he'd had too much of an issue on the cot. I didn't get to talk to the morning teacher today, so hopefully I will tomorrow.
I'm slightly annoyed that no one went over the things that change with him going to the toddler room. Drop off is slightly different, he can have a few items he couldn't in the infant room, and he has a bin so I don't leave his diaper bag. I would have been my over prepared self had they mentioned this to me. Oh well.
