I was gonna post this the other day. We have officially started planning! We want to get a Franklin's BBQ (it's like the best brisket on the planet) catering order and you have to do it exactly 6 weeks out. Which is this month! So nuts!!!
Mickey theme. We are taking LO to disneyland. We made reservations for character dining. We are doing a family photo shoot too. I'm trying to convince H to wear matching Disney shirts, not sure if he'll agree. I found a cute "I'm one" onesie on Etsy that I'll order. I really don't want to plan a party because it will only be adults and the youngest child is 5yrs old. I only have two friends with LOs the same age as Max. Plus, I'm planning my Grammy's birthday this month. And my sister's 40th for March. H is like "I thought we wanted to save money in 2017", so undecided if we'll do a party.

We aren't having a party, we're going camping instead. Already made the reservations if that counts, lol! My sister and her family are going with us, like always. I'll probably bring mini cupcakes or cookies or something and make everyone sing.

Is this the famous Franklin's BBQ?
Yes it is. It's amazing! We did a small catering order last year while we were here and had friends in bc you don't have to wait in line (although it's hard to get the order, it used to be this lottery thing but now it's a first come rolling window online...)

I am doing a party... but very small. Just family and AnnaClaire and her DH. I probably won't do a theme... just a color scheme. I found some onesies on Pinterest that I need to order. DH and I are going on vacation in 2 weeks, so I'll probably take the ipad and plan during my chill time.

Definitely having a party. I love planning and already have a theme and cake and smash cake planned. I've been looking up outfits too. I'm going with a rainbow theme since she is our rainbow baby.

Probably will do a party for family. DD1 had a Winnie the Pooh 1st birthday party, we might just recycle that theme. We are not party people, planning and creativity are not our strong suit.

I threw big 1st birthday parties for my boys. DS1 had a very hungry caterpillar party, and DS2 had a cat in the hat party. But we were also in areas where we had a lot of space and friends at the times of their first birthdays. With our HI move, I'm not sure we'll have many friends by K's birthday and who knows when we'll get a house. I feel bad... Poor 3rd child caught in the middle of a military move outside of the continental US...

We did not do one for DS and won't be doing one for V. Maybe a fun or fancy dinner? Yes I know, we're boring. But literally doing the absolute least over here.

I was just thinking about this as everyone keeps asking me what I'm doing for his birthday. Now I have all these grand plans in my head so we'll see if it actually materializes, but wanted to do a first trip around the sun theme with an outer space cake, space and sun-themed cookies, a big 2-D cardboard rocket for photo ops, etc.

We'll be doing a party for family and friends that are basically family. That said, I have a bigger family, so it will lovely be 30-40 people, possibly near 50 depending on who can make it. So far we have a potential date. Theme-wise, probably Mickey and friends. Dude loves Mickey.
We are doing a party for family and a few friends. DH and I both have large families so it will end up being bigger than I want. Thinking about a twinkle twinkle little star theme.
I had the hall secured last June. Lol. It's cheap and there's not many places large enough especially inside in Feb.
I have a Pinterest board going for theme ideas. I really need to narrow it down and get working on decorations, menu, etc so I'm not overwhelmed closer to the date.

I thought about booking a trip to Disney World for DS's first b-day, but we have a couple other trips planned and we may be building a new house around that time so we decided to do it next year for his 2nd birthday. I really wanted to do it though! I'd rather plan a vacation than a birthday party!
I think we'll do a little party and invite all the neighbors and few friends we've met since moving here. I'm thinking either Mickey or Farm Animals because those seem to be his favorites, but I'll wait to see what he's into as it gets closer.

A trip to Disney world would be so nice. I think 2yrs old is probably a better age. He might enjoy it more.

I just looked at the calendar and DS's Birthday is on a Sunday. Would you have the party on that Sunday or the day before to have it on a Saturday?
I like Sunday parties because the party ends sooner. People leave because work/school. I don't know about your family but mine tend to stick around if it's on a Saturday.
