This stupid crappy weather! My cake smash photo shoot is going to be rescheduled because it's so nasty out. And I don't know if I have another time we can do it. And I ordered a cake for today. So sad.
Oh no. I'm sorry. Tomorrow might be better weather.

She has to work tomorrow. We rescheduled for Monday afternoon. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Meanwhile arbe is like "haha, see you suckers in this thread in 3 years!" :-P
Hahaha, so glad I saw this. I never use tapa & not much time at work.... so we are not having a "birthday" party. It's a rainbow & unicorn "one year older" party. Mom is making a cake, here's her trial run
DanaScullyX, I love the pictures. She looks like she had a blast!
In the last pic is that her choosing a career path? That's such a different and neat idea. Where did you come up with it?
It's a tradition in many Asian cultures. She's wearing her traditional Korean Hanbok and which object she chooses is indeed supposed to signify her future path.

Well?? Which one did she choose?
She was really tired, so she ignored it for a whole, then cried, and finally picked the pencil. So she'll be a scholar or author.

At first I thought it was a take on choosing the dalai lama.
We had a Shinto blessing done a month after K was born and will do another blessing when she comes to her first important life event at age 3. I don't believe they we do anything like this though.

Her reaction to picking a career is almost comically accurate to real life. "I don't want to grow up and be an adult. ok, fine. I'll just do this then."

I panicked when I realized I only had 2.5 weeks left so I randomly chose the theme The Very Hungry Caterpillar and ordered her an outfit and highchair banner from Etsy. #secondchildprobz

We went to a party last weekened that was Eric Carle themed. She got all the stuff from oriental trading pretty inexpensively. She did subs and cupcakes and grape "worms" on a stick. It was super cute.

We did this theme for DS1's first birthday. It was awesome! I have an album in my photos on FB from way back if you want to check it out. I made cupcakes in the shape of the caterpillar 😊
No gift bags. They're so annoying to me and a lot of work to get together. We have SO many kids coming and all a wide range of ages. It will get really expensive and I don't want to just get cheesy junk. I bought a lot of candy that matches our theme so at least we have that.
