We started out the morning with a 2 hour delay for icy roads, which meant everyone got to sleep in! It was nice not having to rush around first thing and everyone got to take their time since C didn't have to catch the bus until 10.
H and I caught the last part of story time at the library (also started at 10). Now I'm trying to convince him that naps are awesome and failing miserably. He's currently running around pantless pretending to be a dinosaur. I have to work tonight and a nap would be so great, but at least I got to sleep in until 8:30?
I got C the School time play set from M&D, and both kids are having so much fun with it. If you're looking for a gift for a 5+ kid this would be a great one.
It's been a bit crazy at work. There's an escaped prisoner on the loose and we share a building with the US Marshals so the press is laying in wait up front.
Work itself is slow though and I'm bored.
C was ok getting out of the house this morning. Not as great as yesterday but better. I've been poking holes in his pacifier in the hopes he will stop enjoying it. So far it's not working. I'm using an insulin needle though so maybe I need to try a larger gauge. I'm holding onto hope that he will like it less and it will be easier to take away. I need to speak to dh but I think we need to set a date and end it. Sigh
I cut the tops off when I weaned C. Go big or go home, right? Stay strong, you can do it!
Now if I would take my own advice to get the kids into their own bed and out of mine...

wedding, cut the tops off, but act like you don't know what happened. Just be like, "Wait, how old are you? Are you 3 because at 3 the pacis break and stop working. Oh no! BUT, now we can take the paci off and you can just have your snuggly friend who was holding your paci this whole time."

wedding M has chewed holes in all his pacis, but that doesn't stop him. Don't think that will be an option for us. We have to go cold turkey. I'll probably bring him to turn them in for a toy so we at least have something to remind him where they went.
Lately he is saying all kinds of horrible things. "I'll kill you, I'll hit you, I'll run you over." Where the hell is this coming from? He has to be hearing it from other children at school, but where on Earth are they hearing it?
Kindergartners are a terrible influence. 5 year-olds are absolute jerks.
Hope the girls love karate, @surelycantbesrs. My sister and I started doing Aikido when we were around the ages Cass and Maddie are now. We loved it and I'm very grateful to have had self-defense classes when I was young.

This. Or rage against the machine 😉.
He did tell Pete "Take the power back" with his first in the air a couple weeks ago...

Col came home yesterday telling this long, involved story about his friend A running into the street and getting hit by a car. It ended with her running up the steps of their friend D's house where she ran up to her room, closed her curtains, turned off the lights, and put her (D) to bed. A also got airlifted somewhere in the middle ("like Hannes Riekelt" << a skier whose name I'm botching, but who got in a bad accident last winter and got airlifted off the mountain) and got better. He brought it up again this morning and kept focusing on A being hit by a car, it creeped me out!
DH checked on her this morning and said she's just fine.

I asked T what he did at daycare today and he seriously replied "tried to kill a witch."
Last night was nuts around here. I was taking bets on "which kid am I taking to the ER?" T was screaming his belly hurt, DD was having an asthma attack, and DS1 was hysterically crying that his ankle hurt, all at the same time. My neighbor that I barely know is a pediatric nurse in the hospital and I almost knocked on her door. I made a mental note to have them over soon. Thankfully, we got them all to bed and they all stayed asleep except DS1 who came crashing through the door of our room at 1am still crying about the ankle. We gave him Advil and he fell asleep and woke up just fine.
On the plus side, I have stuck to my diet and exercise all week so far. I was shot by a nerf gun several times while working out but I got through it.
FML O has a fever. He just finished his antibiotics on Sunday for his EI but has a cough that has lingered. I'm gonna bring him with me to Z's 1yr appnt tomorrow so he can get checked out.
Do I need to cancel my trip?! WWN13D? (Z is sick too and on antibiotics for an EI)
Don't cancel your trip. Wait to see what the pedi says. It may just be viral, perhaps his EI is still around.
snoopmommymom I agree with klongoria11 ...wait and see what the pedi says, but unless it were something life-threatening or super serious, I wouldn't cancel. He'll likely bounce back in a day or two. Just make sure your MIL has copies of your or your H's insurance card, #s and address of doctor, and anything else she might need in case of an emergency.

What she said!
What they said! You know if you cancel, the very next day they'll be feeling 100% and running wild once again

I'm just coming through now to catch up from yesterday. I agree snoopmommymom, don't cancel the trip! lahdeedah88, I didn't have any special workout clothes when I was pg w B and I worked out until about 8.5mo. I would just fold the waistband on my yoga pants/capris, extra low.
