mrswillie Wow, I'm super impressed. I can't even imagine a trip to the store alone right now. So do you bring the car seat and stroller? And then request a crib at the hotel? I was also considering wearing her on the flight in the Ergo, but then what do you do with the car seat?
I know people have different feels on it, but we usually check the car seat. I know on Southwest if it's not a full flight, they'll let you bring the car seat on for free even if LO is a lap child. I wear baby in the Ergo, but they do make you take baby out for take off and landing. I was thinking of not bringing the stroller this time since we'll just be at my parents house and not really going out and about. But we'll definitely need it for the airport so we'll have to bring it. My mom has an extra PNP at her I'd gotten when DS1 was a baby for free from someone. But otherwise, I'd either check with the hotel to make sure they have a crib. Or, you could get 2 beds and you and the baby sleep in one and your DH in the other.
We've done this quite a few times because a) we love to travel and the beach and b) all our family is minimum 8 hour drive away.

ETA: I'm sure it'll snow heavily while we're up there because we usually go in January and every single time without fail they get like a blizzard. This year we were like great... can't go... baby. But now we're going since my dad can't travel.

Fun! I hope you get a snow-free visit. But since each year it snows that's not likely.
I keep telling MH that I want to be a family that continues to travel. He basically shuts me down at every convo. He's not mentally invested in flying with twins. I wish he could get that it's about the destination. Of course the flight will suck.

DD2 had her 3 week appt yesterday. She's FINALLY above birth weight! The pedi discovered a "click" in her right hip that we have to have an ultrasound at the end of the month for. She said that sometimes babies that are breech for a time end up with an underdeveloped hip joint but that it could also be a ligament that is too big right now but will be the right size as she grows- they won't know without the ultrasound. Mom was an L&D nurse and NICU nurse for 30+ years and says 99% of the time it's the ligament thing so I'm not too worried- and the fact that nobody has noticed it before now (the pedi didn't notice it the last time she saw her which was last week) makes me think it isn't a joint issue.
As for our weekend, it's "supposed" to snow 3-5 inches tonight. I'll believe it when I see it. We live in the south in an area that doesn't get a whole lot of snow, and usually, the more they predict the less we get. DD1 really wants to build a snowman. If we get enough for her to do that, we'll probably just hang out tomorrow. If not, we'll probably take a drive to the mountains (30 mins away) and go on a "snow hunt". Other than that, we're just hanging out taking it easy.
Uggh, sitting in the ER right now. I started having weird chest pains and my leg swelling got insane. My left leg is the width of my thigh down to my ankle. They are checking me for blood clots. Sonographer said unofficially he didn't see anything but we'll wait to see what the official one is. Thank goodness my mom is here and we're still supplementing so she can feed the baby.
