I'm looking around at preschools in our area and feeling overwhelmed. What do/did you look for in a preschool? What questions did you ask? How (if at all) did/will you prepare your S13er for preschool?
I know most 3.5 year olds are already in prek, but I've been home with G and we haven't sent her yet. She will be going in to a prek for 4 yo this fall.
We are doing preschool at 4 also. I will be following this for help!
Currently I am leaning towards our local Ys preschool program. It's close by, she already does classes with a few of the kids and I've heard some people rave about it. I need to look into the fine details still

DD is in preschool right now. We put her in the 3 year old program to help out with her anxiety and socialize her a bit better. She loves it and has totally come out of her shell!
Location was the biggest factor for us, as I didn't want to have to drive across the city. After that, I asked around and got reccomendations from current preschool parents. I don't know if it's the same there (I'm in Canada) but here most preschools require volunteer days from parents. I chose one that didn't require that, because I'm solo parenting 90% of the time and wouldn't be able to bring my 18 month old. It also provided snacks and had a learn through play approach, which I liked.
As far as preparing her, we read a few books and told her about how much fun she'd have and all of the things she'd be doing. We were able to meet her teacher and see the classroom at an orientation day. Not going to lie, the first week was TOUGH. She cried and did not want to stay, but now she loves going to school and talks about it constantly.
