I forgot my lunch. This makes me extremely cranky. I am now a pregnant lady with no snacks. Also my yogurt which was a delicious flavor for today is going to go bad and my dogs will probably get the rest of my lunch.

So tomorrow morning I'm going to go for my glucose tolerance test. My lab instructions say to eat a light breakfast but avoid anything high in sugar or carbs (fruit, juice, toast, cereal, etc). I'll die if I don't eat breakfast. So what should I eat to not screw up my results. Eggs?

Since I'm struggling with my typical black coffee at the moment, I opted to stop by dunkin donuts this morning for a latte since for whatever reason thick frothy coffee doesn't bother me. Well it's fucking disgusting. It does not taste anything like coffee or a latte. It's basically hot water with a splash of milk flavor? I'm having the most serious pregnancy rage about it. I should have taken a sip before I left and made them remake it.
We're in the negatives this morning but it is supposed to warm up later in the week. I've got two days this week at home/work then driving 4.5 hours with my boss for work for the rest of the week, then a long weekend away. Should be a bit hectic but fun.

Eggs, yogurt. At what time is your test? If it's more than 3-4 hours after you eat, a piece of toast with the eggs is usually okay, but you want 3-4 hours between heavy carbs and the test.

It's a walk-in lab so I'll probably go right before work. Which would only be an hour after I normally have breakfast. I'll probably just eat some eggs and skip my usual toast and OJ. Do NOT want to have to take this test again haha.
It's single digits here too...and the fire we've had going for weeks is out. I'm trying to decide if I should restart it, which requires digging the woodpile out of the snow...or just add more layers. I also need to run out to my office at some point, which sounds terrible. Later in the week will be near 50...I'd much rather not leave the house until then.

mustloveerica, Sorry for the crappy start to your day! Like some of the others have suggested, I'd stick to something lighter like yogurt or eggs. You just don't want anything heavy in carbs or sugar. Hope your day gets better!

This is how I feel about all of Dunkins coffee drinks. Everything tastes watered down to me or the coffee comes with all milk/cream and just a splash of actual coffee.
It's the only place to get coffee between my house and my job though. It's such a first world tragedy.

I'd do the same and then take some bread to work with me to toast after the appointment!

Ah. See, I'm used to just doing it at my standard app that the concept of doing the GTT in a lab is foreign to me. I'm just given the drink for home and told to take it 45-50 minutes before my app and keep an accurate time at which I finished it (it's five minutes to drink it but i found its better to chug if you can because gross).
Make sure you have a form of protein on hand for after. The sugar crash is no joke from that stuff.
I still can't believe the crazy crap my MIL said last night. Like, seriously? All she's doing is making H and I more and more irritated with her. She's like my toddler and throwing a temper tantrum since she can't get her way

She is definitely acting like a spoiled brat. She'll have to learn, it just will be painful for you until she does. Man, she would drive me insane!

So excited for the 50s. I want ALL the melting!
However, I don't mind how the dogs speed up the peeing/pooping process.
Omg I felt so bad this am...my one dog is a jerk and just pees/poops right by the deck when there's snow. But the other one went way out back...but then his little feet were so frozen that he was having a hard time getting back. MH went out and picked him up and carried (all 70lbs of) him back. I totally swooned over MH's heroics

I drive MILES out of my way in order to get Dunkin Donuts coffee. I don't like their lattes but I LOVE their regular coffee.
It warmed up to double digits here today, finally!! My friend makes messy bun hats and I ordered one last week. My mom surprised me and brought it over this morning so I could wear it. I'm irrationally excited about this, but it's so cute and made my day!!

I'm going to eat eggs tomorrow morning. What time are you taking the test? We can keep each other company lol.
It's supposed to be almost 60 by Wednesday here. I'm going to try to convince H to paint Ollie's room this week since it will be warm enough to open a window and get some ventilation. We can buy furniture as soon as the room is painted!

Probably like 7:30am. I need to download a kindle book or something so I'm not bored to death.

cnf2013 I survived on cappuccinos during first tri. I was finally able to stomach black coffee again a couple weeks ago around 18 weeks. It's been glorious every since. I'm sorry DD screwed up your latte. That's not cool.

Ugh, that sucks. Once I ordered a latte at DD and she handed me something resembling black coffee. When I pointed out that there's no milk in the coffee, she said I never asked for milk. In my latte. My bad.
I'm so excited about going to yoga in an hour. I didn't go all last week since I was sick. My back is so sore from lifting on Saturday.
I'm starting yoga this week, too! (I think.) There's a place right by my work that is starting a 6-week series this week. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because I have a hard time committing to all 6 weeks in a row, but I really need to start doing some exercise.
BabyStandish & akraus2015 - I'm starting a prenatal yoga series this week. I've done yoga classes before at the same studio, so looking forward to more focus on "safe" poses and ones which are supposed to help with pregnancy pains!
