Self-contained classroom vs community educator?

Me again!
So DS is about to turn 3 and has qualified to move from our state's EI program to the local school system for special education. They gave me two options:
1. Start at K. Elementary. It's about 30 minutes from our house or more with traffic. Not convenient at all, though they would provide transportation. He would go to school there from 9-1 and then go to his inclusion daycare where he currently goes for the rest of the day. He would receive speech through the school and possibly OT after an eval. determines he needs it. He currently receives private speech and OT but because of where this school is and where his current therapists are and the fact that I have to work, he would not be able to continue receiving those and we would have to rely on what the school provides.
2. Wait until August when my home school, L. Elementary, has room in their special needs program. In the meantime, he would get a community educator (I don't know that this is the correct term, but someone would come work with him, similar to EI) that comes to his daycare once a week. He would be able to continue his private speech and OT since they are convenient to daycare and we are able to logistically make it work.
It seems like the second option is easier, but would I be missing out on getting him more intensive education for the next 8 months? Though his current daycare is a SN inclusion program, it's not great.
I'm going to observe the SN room in both of the schools before I make a decision. He'll will also start receiving ABA privately regardless of school.
