Mr c slept through the night last night! 7.5 hrs. Weee. I should have put him back down right away after he at at 6 though because he had quite a meltdown. Live and learn I guess.
Today is a long day with H gone. H just left 45 minutes early and will run after work so be home an hour or so later than normal. He did offer to skip the run but it's good for him. Hopefully the kiddos are good today
Eta 45 minutes not 4. Ha! 4 minutes may seem like eternity sometimes but it does not actually make it an extra long day ;P
hangry re yesterday and car seats. We had DD as a lap baby as long as possible, but there were a few times we were able to get her a seat because the plane was empty enough and we used her seat. She is just turning two so it is definitely safer but really, it's going to keep her better restrained. She is more likely to be happy in her car seat/ OK with staying in it vs just the lap belt which she will want to get out of and walk around.
Day 2 without my nanny. She went to the doctor and doesn't have strep so they think it's just a cold. Honestly if she had strep she could come around us again once on antibiotics but the cold worries me more so I asked her to stay home again.
DS's 2-year appointment is at 8:50 so I will have to wake him up in like 45 minutes. He has gymnastics right after that. It should be a decent morning, just busy and I'm praying he actually naps today (he hasn't the past 2 days).
Oh and I slept for almost 8 straight hours last night! I went to bed around 10:45. According to DH, D was fussing on and off for about half an hour starting at 11 so he went in a few times to cuddle her and give her the pacifier. But then she didn't wake up again until 6:45!
We had our standard night. Which included 3 hours before she was fully out, did not include anything longer than a 4-hour stretch and was inconsistent after that. I'm looking for a better standard. Le sigh
aggiebug I've only taken 1 flight with DS since he turned 2 and it was only an hour an and a half. He was antsy and wanting to walk around during that! So I could definitely appreciate him being locked in!
Morning! We had a decent night. Lillian went to sleep pretty easily. We've started trying to move her back toward 8:30 bedtime from 9ish. It's nice having both of us in bed by 9. Lilah on the other hand had a hard time going to sleep. I'm guessing it was because DH was watching the game and has taken to leaving his lamp on. Once I asked him to turn it off and turned on the fan she went to sleep ok. But, she caught Lillian's cold and spent half the night sniffling and coughing. Boo. I'm pretty tired from waking up to her coughing. She has her 2 month appointment tomorrow. I think with a cold they'll have me come back for shots when she's better? We'll see.
My playgroup was cancelled due to everyone being sick. So day 2 of no activity with Lillian. I need to go get a couple of things from the Walgreens today. Otherwise, I think I'll walk up to the park and let Lillian play once it warms up. I think it's supposed to get to the 70s today. We only did half our shopping last night so we'll finish groceries this afternoon with DH.
Morning! H is working today so it's just me and the kids. No plans for today besides just hang out in pjs all day and play.
H just told me he got mandated for another 12 hours after his shift today; that makes two, 36hr shifts in a row with only 12 off in between. I guess I'll see him next month? He does have off on Saturday, so at least we can celebrate our anniversary together with a nice dinner. I shouldn't complain because it's all overtime and it's really helping us pay down some debt, I just wish we could see him a little more.
starbuck27 Oh man... Hugs and wine for you. Somehow H stayed home yesterday (after only 2.5 days back at work) because Adeline was being rough the night before/early morning. So grateful for that but I know I can't get used to it. I hope the kids are major sleepers today after library story time.
tjanca22 I'm sorry your DH has another long shift and won't be home
ClassyMrsA and dashook Everyone around here is fighting colds (not in our house thankfully) but in our area. Is it April yet??
So AV ended up staying asleep last night from 6:15p to 4am !!!! The universe is kind.
The morning got off to a hairy start once H left for work at 8:00am as both babies had waken at like 4/4:30 and werent back to sleep yet. So both were overtired and screaming so they won't put themselves to sleep at that point, yet I can only rock one at a time. LSS, Alec ended up crying himself to sleep (I hate that). Both are sleeping now so just enjoying the five minutes of quiet.
My neighbor gifted me some old school SSC she used with her girls and I tried Alec in it yesterday and he seemed to do fine. So I might try my hand at a trip out of he house later, maybe Marshalls. Target is 15min drive so I'd end up needing to do a feeding on the road and not ready for that.
Morning! We've been hit with the cold virus here too. DS1 was sick all weekend and now H is sick. I'm really hoping DS2 avoids it. It is hard for the toddler to understand why he can't hug and kiss his brother.
My girlfriends are supposed to come over tomorrow night to meet DS2 and I'm debating canceling. I need some adult time.

kleigh Glad to hear AV slept so well. I also hate when I'm doing something with Lillian and can't get to the baby fast enough before she cries herself to sleep. Most of the time she takes priority, but there are some things I have to do that cannot be done holding her. Like changing Lillian or making food for us. Re colds: Yeah, I'm ready for the cold/flu season to be over. Allergy season, too. It was so easy to keep Lillian away from sick people when she was a baby. With a 2 year old, I just can't keep Lilah away from it all.

Oh yeah. Keeping the toddler away from the baby is pretty challenging. And of course they're contagious before you know they're sick so how do you deal with that? I remember my friend who had her 2nd a little after Lillian was born telling me about one getting sick and then the other all through the cold/flu season. I know it's normal for them to get a cold multiple times a year, but when it's one after another and with a tiny baby, it's not good. I hope your ds2 avoids this cold!

Morning ladies. I had a productive day yesterday. I took C to my mom's and when he went down for his nap, my mom told me to go out and do whatever I need. So I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and Marshalls/Home Goods and spent $200 on clothes for me and things for the hallway bathroom that I'm getting ready to redo. I decided to do a whale theme so it's cute for a kids bathroom but not overly kiddy for guests. I thought about attempting Target with C today since they have a bunch of whale stuff, but we just got a couple inches of snow and I don't feel like going out there.
Dinner with friends last night was fun too. It's been a while since we've seen them since he was working OOT for a while. We're going to try to go out more often again. We used to do weekly dinners back in the day but those tapered off eventually.
Right now I'm trying to get C down for a nap so I can make some breakfast and clean up a bit. He seemed like he was out but had one really sad cry and have me the biggest pouty face. This kid sure has his sad face down!

Sleep last night was a joke. I thought maybe I'd get lucky and we'd have a decent night since he was so sleepy from his shots, but nope. No exaggeration, the minute we went upstairs to do bedtime he was wide awake. I couldn't keep awake longer than 30 minutes the entire day until it was bedtime. He also would immediately scream anytime I tried to lay him down in the bassinet. He slept on me all night but was still up every 30 minutes or so.

danib wow, chiropractors are so insightful! Can he help with his back and neck? What a pain to keep track of your milk.
goldenlove3 I'm a little jealous of your social scene, I feel like you get out and about a lot. Our friends are about an hour away, so it's quite the production to see people. I'm hoping that when we move we find a good community that has young families that we can be bff's with..Wishful thinking.

N is a doll, but my DS is driving me bonkers. I get so angry at him when it's time to go to school and he refuses to get his coat on, so N is in her carseat for an extra 10 -15 minutes while we battle it out.
We went to Costco after dropoff and then had lunch at Panera. Now must decide what task will get done before pickup...
danib that is a pain about your stash. Hopefully you'll at least see some improvement in H with the diet change? jubilantsquirrel, that sounds truly awful. I hope he makes it up to you today and especially tonight.
DS is actually napping!! It's a new year miracle. Little lady is so tired but won't let me put her down without fussing. Currently she's sleeping on my lap with a boobie pacifier and I'm ruing not bringing my salad into the living room with me. I need to figure out how I'm going to finish that and do my workout before the toddler wakes up.

tallblonde That would be hard to be so far away. I feel very lucky to have everyone close by, including my parents and ILs who are almost always available to babysit.

danib Hope those adjustments help Henry out. I'm really curious about adjustments for babies but MH isn't on board with it. I need to read into it more and maybe bring the data to him. I think I need to get an adjustment too. I feel so off since having him.

I sit on the same bench as your husband. There is no credible evidence it is if benefit and a baby's bones and cartalagenous growth centers are so at risk for damage it's not worth the risks. Especially knowing the type of training they do and don't receive.
He'a been better the last week or two. But we now progressed to a sleep regression where he gets out of his bed 100 times and laughs while we try to put him to bed for 2 hours. So there's what you can hope for
goldenlove3 I should also add that the specific chiropractor that we saw specializes in children/babies craniosacral therapy
The yoga instructor from my prenatal yoga class gave us referrals for a chiropractor that she uses with her kids. I meant to look them up. I would definitely not go to just anyone if we decided to do it. I was mostly curious about it.

You should look up baby massage. There are some easy techniques you can do at home safely.
tallblonde Have you seen this? Makes me think of you and J and the coat battle We haven't had a problem with outerwear yet, but we wear it so infrequently that I think its still a novelty. I'm sure that won't stay the case next winter in VA!
kleigh Way to sleep, AV! Sounds like some of these babies are starting to turn the sleep corner.
