It's Ryan's first half day at daycare. I'm beyond stressed about him napping. Which should be happening around now. I'm distracting myself by shopping for his party..... Debating running errands with my freedom. But worried she will call and say come get your demon child...

Morning! Napping was my biggest stressor with both kids going to daycare. Granted mine were much younger than yours when they started, but they both did totally fine! R won't be the first new napper, they'll know exactly what to do!
Instead of giving him blueberries as we go, I let him pick his own out of the basket (Eta, this morning). His face.. omg. Way better than Christmas presents.

What the hell, man. Last week, X napped and slept like a dream all weekend and then took 20 minute naps all week when I was home alone with him. This weekend, he was back to his great naps and decent night sleep. Yesterday, H worked from home, and he took good naps.
He's back to work today and we're back to 15 minute naps. I'm beginning to think X is just trying to make a liar of me.
Naptime is the worst time! C will consistently take 2 1+ hour naps at home with my husband during the week, and with me on the weekend ... on daycare week(every other) she will not nap all day and is up from 7 am to 630 pm... which means by the time we get home(5) she is miserable.

Who's putting him down for the nap? Is there a little extra noise when H is home?
Home with sick C again, L is at daycare. I hope she skips this one... I have zero energy. So much to do but we have been literally watching movies all morning... also, this flu has killed my milk supply and I'm sad. Ugh. I'm in a funk.
Hope it goes well! How's cutting the suck/sleep dependency going for you(him)? Enjoy your extra free time!
I really started to do it last night. So I'm giving him bottles instead of the breast and limiting to 2 ounces for his first 2 wake ups. Then I let him nurse at his last one. He fussed the first bottle because he wanted breast but took it and the second was no problem. I'll do 2 ounces for 3 nights then reduce to 1.5 or 1. My aim is to be able to just reduce the hunger first off so that maybe he won't wake up because he won't be as hungry or that his wake ups will be further between. Then if he does, simple cuddle or pacifier retrieval and put him back down asap. I didn't start this weekend as planned because nieces were here and the next night we were beyond exhausted. I pumped 5 oz this morning and hopefully will manage another 5 through the day to maintain the night bottles and daycare needs.

It's always me for naps. H was in the office all day yesterday, so it was still different than normal weekends. We stick to the same general schedule regardless of the day of the week. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just a weird coincidence but it's odd!

No naps at daycare but he ate lunch really well. So far no meltdowns, giving him another 10 minutes tops before nursing and nap. Hopefully he takes a really good nap this afternoon

Work is trying to kill me today. It seems everyone is back from the snow day in a full on beginning of semester panic about everything with a side of failed reading comprehension. I'm losing my ability to repeat myself 80 billion times in a polite tone.
I drove in a blizzard this morning for a little bit. We left our house and it was lightly snowing and windy, by the time we made it to preschool the visibility was so bad. The drive there takes 15 minutes. S and I ran over to target, which is pretty close to preschool, and by the time we left it was pretty much done. Little bit on snow and wind. Crazy.
I need to go grocery shopping but we've had freezing rain all day and I'm sure the roads are slick. I was hoping it would at least stop raining so we wouldn't be running to the doors, but it's only getting worse this afternoon. I wish teleportation was a thing lol

Ick! I just went into the bathroom at my office and somebody had clearly been sick in 3 of the 5 stalls. Norovirus is going around. I already had it on Christmas Day, hopefully I don't catch another round of it.

Ugh, looks like I'll be solo parenting tonight. One of the sprinkler systems went down at DH's work so he's been tapped to stay all night on fire watch. I shouldn't complain too much since he's the one who has to wake up and check the building every two hours throughout the night, but L apparently hasn't napped today so I already know it's going to be a super fun night for me, too.

rivers and roads, I swear that DS is 100x worse when DH goes out of town. Which is weird bc he only sees him max 15 min during the week. It's just like he knows "daddy is here, I better behave".
leahks77, I hope you all feel better soon. That sounds rough.
My kid naps for hours at daycare, without any bottles, just placed in crib and she sleeps. At home she needs snuggles, bottles, white noise, dark room....and she usually sleeps for less than an hour. They use MAGIC at daycare.

This whole 1 year old thing is hitting me hard. I have serious nostalgia about how this time last year I was getting ready to meet N, and replaying his labor/birth in my head. Plus, I saw someone out today carrying her itty bitty. My ovaries are throbbing.

What's MAGIC?
Um nm. Duh. I figured it out. I thought it was an acronym for some sleep system like EASY.
I like being a woman, but sometimes I really wonder what it would be like to be so naturally inconsiderate and self-centered; it must be so freeing to not have to worry about everyone and everything else around me. And to get away with it because, penises.

Same. Sometimes H will be on his tablet while I'm off doing chores. One or both of the kids will be crying for one reason or another. And he just tunes it out. I don't have that ability to tune our children's crying out.
It was another busy day here. I had to get groceries and gas. Then take a much needed nap. We went to bed late last night. I've been trying to catch up on episodes of "The 100" since season 4 begins soon. I stopped watching after the first episode of season 2, but recently decided to give it another try. I'm hooked. But it has a lot of blood and killing, so I refuse to watch it around the kids, resulting in me staying up way too late .
