We definitely wed more ideas, I feel like I give her the same thing everyday. She will only feed herself, will not let anyone feed her and she can't really do the spoon, so pretty much only finger foods.
I have been making these "muffins" which she really likes (and I do too) 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed 1/2 cup of nut butter 1/4 cup of maple syrup 1/4 t. Baking soda 1/4 t. Baking powder Little salt and vanilla extract
Food processor until smooth and then bake at 350 for awhile, until a toothpick comes out clean. Mini muffins take like 25 minutes or so.

Anything in pouch form. I'm still waiting for to consume real food in a large enough quantity. At this point, I can't see how she can get enough nutrition if we switch to WCM at a year.
Bananas, mandarin oranges, soft veggies, meat in small pieces, meatballs, scrambled eggs, puffs, yogurt melts, plain Noosa mixed with fruit or PB2, Cheerios, pouches, random crumbs he finds on the floor....

I aim to do protein + veggie + starch, with fruit as a bonus. I'm a total nerd with this stuff and go based on what nutrients I think she needs at each meal I'm getting her closer and closer to eating the same thing as DS for meals.
Breakfast: Eggs/yogurt Oatmeal with almond butter mixed in Any new food I want to try (mostly fruits)
Lunch (we just started so not much of this yet): Beans/cheese/yogurt Spinach/peas/bell pepper/etc veggie Squash/rice/noodles
Dinner: Whatever we eat. Once she hit the major allergens (minus shellfish) I let her go all out on solids. Last night we had shepherd's pie, the night before Thai food. She greatly enjoys tearing food with her front teeth so she rarely stuffs something in her mouth that she can't swallow.

She eats whatever we eat. She is a big fan of any type of meat, loves chicken and ham. We make Asian style noodle dishes a lot and she loves noodles of any type.
How much of these solids are your kid eating? A couple bites or a solid portion?
For breakfast this morning C and 2.5 year old brother split two scrambled eggs, a pear and a piece of toast. I gave her probably 1/4 of what I made. She ate half and half ended up in her chair.

So not a ton. When do they start eating enough to sustain them?

It's a weird and scary transition but around age 1 when formula is cut out and you switch to WCM (or whatever alternative) and offering food first before formula/milk it just sort of happens! You still have a lot of time, just keep doing what you are doing for now :-) Remember that 1 year olds only need about 900 calories, too. This article was helpful as far as showing some ideas of what a toddler's meals look like: www.parents.com/advice/toddlers-preschoolers/toddler-feeding-and-nutrition/how-much-should-my-one-year-old-be-eating/

The amount of food in that article is like 10x what kiddo eats now. I'll just koko and we'll see what happens.

A lot can change overnight, it's nothing to worry about right now! She is still getting half to two thirds of her calories from formula now anyway. If I remember correctly K ate more when she was 4-5 months than both of my kids did at double that age! She is doing great and you are, too. We are still doing only one meal of solids which is what we did with DD1 at this age as well and we transitioned her just fine. Their meals now look nothing like their meals 2 months from now!
LO eats a decent amount at at least one of her meals a day usually 2 though. Like for example she ate maybe a third of a chicken breast, 1/4 cup of noodles with pesto, 1/4 cup broccoli and 3 chunks of pineapple for lunch... that seems like a decent size meal to me. She ate almost nothing for breakfast, just threw it on the floor and then nursed instead. She still nurses a lot though. I'm not planning on weaning at 1 though...
I feel like this level was overnight, she ate almost nothing until like 8 or 8.5 months and then all the sudden it was like all the food, I've heard other Mama's say that happens again closer to or just after 1.
Can you keep doing formula longer if she needs it? Or mix it with WCM? SheilaTheTank

E probably eats about that, but I don't follow anything as a guideline personally. You should see what the Canadian Food Guide has that my 4 year old should eat in a day, it's insane and she is a really good eater and no way eats that much.

I think we eat that much some days but not everyday. She does not eat that much fruit, like her daddy she is more into savory things. We definitely eat more protein than that and everyday, she would eat pretty much unlimited eggs and chicken. She eats 1-1.5 scrambled eggs pretty much everyday depending on wether I'm making them just for her or for the family and giving them to her (which means she eats more bc I just keep giving them).
We need to start having dinner with her but I have been putting it off bc I really enjoy our baby free evenings (I hope that doesn't sound too awful). I eat breakfast and lunch with her although not always the same stuff.

My 10 month old eats more than my 2.5 year old. Sometimes I cut her off when she would keep going because I'm afraid she'll blow. Last night for dinner she ate a quarter of a quesadilla, a half of a huge Asian pear, and then a veggie baby food pouch. And she still wanted more. I stopped her. I usually split an instant oatmeal packet between the kids for breakfast, giving her about 1/3 of it, and then some fruit and applesauce toast (1/2 slice) and she always finishes it and demands more.

jewel441 I don't like being tied down with lunch and so we only just started today because she was sneaking it from my plate. Since you aren't planning to wean at a year, I wouldn't worry the least bit about what she is getting from food other than mineral content (iron and vitamin D depending on where you live). We didn't start DS on solids until he was 10 months and didn't do 3 meals a day until he was closer to 14 months IIRC (not interested).
K is still eating just mush! She has a super strong gag reflex and starts gagging on anything chunky. I will start getting worried if this is still an issue past 1 year. SheilaTheTank - does your LO suck directly from the pouch, or do you feed it to her on a spoon?

I'm not worried from a nutritional standpoint just a being creative a variety standpoint. I feel like I can do better than chicken/egg, veggies and noodles/toast... I'm just not sure what to make.
We had dinner with her tonight and it was pasta with slow cooker (Italian) gravy. She loved it. so so messy though.

I squeeze it into her mouth. If I'm bringing out a spoon, I might as well do jarred purees.

I don't mind doing a slow transition to cows milk. I take back everything I said yesterday though. K devoured more food then I've ever seen her eat last night for dinner. I mean a ton. Weird. lol

They know. Every time I start to talk seriously about night weaning she has an amazing night sleep. Lol
