Weight: 20 lbs Height: Don't remember the number, but I'm pretty sure it was 70%. Head circumference: 17.5" Shots? She got three, and was only pissed for a couple min. So win. Any concerns? Nope. Her reaction to eggs seems to have been a fluke, and we've had no other issues.
kelle017 2% for height and 98 for head?! Is that right? She certainly doesn't look that disproportionate!
That's what I thought! 27inches doesn't seem THAT short?
Right! I measured R's height on the pantry door on her birthday and got 26.5 inches. I think that is 2 more inches since her 9 month appointment, and her height has been in the 20-40% the last few months. We will get her official measurements at her 12 month appointment on Friday.
Yep! I believe its the MMRV and Meningococcal conjugate C that were in his arm, and the Pneumococcal conjugate was put in his leg, along with the flu shot.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing (or at leasr practice specific)?
DS still hasn't had any shots in his arm and he's 3.5.
Maybe it is Canadian/regional then! Because all DD's 18 month vaccines last year were in her arms. I could've sworn all her 12 month ones were in her legs, so maybe the procedures changed in the last year and a half.
Any concerns? Still need to take her to the ophthalmologist for the lazy eye, and also we now have her on a diet because apparently her height and weight don't match as well as the doctor would like. Boo.

Please expand upon this. They want you to restrict her food or feed her different things? She's too heavy for her height?

Yeah, apparently she's too heavy for her height. We as a family eat SUPER healthy and I send really healthy lunch to daycare but the daycare gives really unhealthy snacks all day long. I've talked to the daycare lady that there will be no more cheese puffs or mac&cheese. At home we are now cutting back on cheese and carbs and trying to give more veggies. It suuuuucks having a 1-year old on a diet
apunicorn that seems crazy to me to put a 1 year old on a diet. I can understand restricting the bad shit day care gives her, but it seems like you guys are already having her eat healthy and appropriately for her age already at home. She's always been big. Some babies just are. Eta, and she doesn't look disproportionately big, at all.

That seems... extreme? I obviously know very little about toddler nutrition but that seems crazy to me, especially given the healthy meals she eats.
FWIW, I've been asking "at what point are we concerned?" At every pedi appt since he was like 6 months (and ~26lbs). The response is always some form of "oh, not for a long while. Let him walk for like 6 months and we'll see what's going on. Some babies are just big!"
Can you get a 2nd opinion on that? That makes me uneasy.
Yeah I'm not so sure about this diagnosis either, I guess if at the 15mo appt we are once again told she's too fat then I'll get a second opinion. This doctor thinks that since V's been walking for a few months now she should be slimmer 🙄
Talks of bmi and the like didn't become a thing until age 3 here. At one that seems super crazy!
The funny thing is I calculated her BMI and its in the healthy range! She's just super tall too. But apparently they want her keeping to the curve she's been on her whole life and this time she was a little higher. I hate hate HATE having to keep her on a diet.

Meh. You do you and what feels right for you, mama. You're great and V is thriving. I'd take it as a suggestion, but I wouldn't leave one opinion as a rule of life at this point. If she says something at 15m, tell her to suck it.*
*not a doctor's advice *maybe don't say that, but look elsewhere.
apunicorn I'd take the ped's advice with a grain of salt. A diet for a 1 year old seems excessive. Plus doctors are not always up to date on current dietetic practices.
If you're really concerned, maybe see a dietitian?

That's a good idea swim. I'm thinking I might need to change pediatricians in general, too.

Ryan was measured, 22 pounds and 30.5 inches. So 52nd and 77th percentile. Head I don't remember but it was 50th. He didn't get his vaccinations because he has a full blown ear infection but he was fine and running around the office in his diaper and socks laughing so she thought it mustn't be too painful!
