We went to see the pediatrician on Monday. M has had an extra skin fold/roll on one leg since 2 months which can be a sign of hip dysplasia. It's his only sign so we are just watching it. On Tuesday our pedi had another kid with the same thing and the parents opted for an x-ray. The x-ray confirmed hip dysplasia. Now the pedi is giving us the option to x-ray. M doesn't crawl traditionally, only really army crawls. He lifts his left leg weird when he tries. Now I'm worried.
Would you risk the radiation to rule out hip dysplasia, keeping in mind M has had a ton of radiation exposure already?

Is there any other way to diagnose? What's the danger of leaving it untreated?
minae01 The only way to diagnose is through x-ray.
@pennygirl2013 She just mentioned that the longer it waits the harder it is to treat. She really didn't push one way or the other, just wanted to give us the option.
Thank you for the advice! We are going to do the x-ray since it is considerably less radiation than the other tests he has had/needs. It feel like it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario, but I really need to know.
I can't imagine him needing surgery or a cast/brace so hopefully it turns out to be nothing. Good vibes are appreciated!
I think that you are making the right decision. I would have the xray done as well, especially since you're noticing some other symptoms. I would be concerned about the exposure, also, but knowing what's going on with his hip seems to be more important.
