DoesItComeInPink DD does the exact same thing. She either hands it to me or throws it over the side of her tray. Either way it comes out as soon as she sees her food heading that way.
I'm worried about weaning her from it because it's basically her best friend and favorite toy lol. It's gonna be hard so t's and p's please.
I still need to wean my almost 3-year-old from hers. She only gets it when she sleeps. We are getting her a big girl bed so we are taking it when we get her in it. Katy still has hers and probably won't give it up for awhile. It doesn't really bother me. Now that she's one. I'll try to keep it to naptime and bedtime.
M gave his up on his own at about 5 months but he never really used it all that much before then anyway. I think I pushed it on him more than he wanted it. He got attached to a teething toy after that but I lost it somewhere along the line and he never seemed to notice. MOTY over here.
We "try" to stick to sleep only, but she has been really cranky lately so I give in more than I use to. I let her keep it while I'm getting everybody ready in the morning and then put it back in her crib. At daycare I tell them sleep only, but whenever I pick her up she always has one. Overnight she double fists them, she always is holding one and switches them back and forth to see which one she is currently digging...even though they are the same. She has been a bear in the car, so she gets it a lot in the car now too. Big sucks her fingers, and always has. She isn't close to giving that up, so I'm not pushing the paci yet because I don't want her to pick up finger/thumb sucking.

Both my littles get theirs for sleep only. DS (2.5) has no exceptions. He has to be in his crib and laying down for us to give it to him. The baby we will give under special circumstances like being sick, or in the car if we want her to sleep. We've really dropped it off a lot though and I forget to bring it when we leave the house now. Oops. She also has an extra in her crib that she cuddles lovingly so that will be two things to deal with. I'm not worried about paci use for the baby but we will be getting DS off of his this summer come hell or high water! He's going to have an eventful few months: transition out of crib, lose paci, potty training. Not all at once, but still!
E never wanted one, still doesn't. It made her first few months pretty hard because she used me as a paci, but now I'm thankful to not have to wean her off of one.

Yep, this! There were many times I wished he'd take it but he never did.

Cam gets a paci when he is going to be sleeping and also in car if he is fussy. He doesn't cry for it or get upset when I take it away. I plan to drop it before he turns 2 but don't feel a big need to push him on it. Pediatrician is big on getting rid of them at 1yr but I'm just ignoring her.

We only really used it in the car and for naps. Around 4-5 months old, he didn't want it anymore, I guess because he knew we wanted him to nap and he didn't want to.
