If I were still working, it'd be a holiday for me. No holiday for DH. And I totally forgot no school for DS1 until last night. I almost cried because DS1 and 2 were a handful ALL.DAY.LONG yesterday. Baby wanted to be held and eat all day. All I wanted was 5 minutes to myself and to get the birth announcements done. Finally got them ordered at 9:30 last night.
DS1 and 2 totally need some outdoor time. It's only going to be a high of 42 here. Is that warm enough to bundle baby up and take them to run around at the park up the street? Although I could imagine them fighting me and running away when it's time to leave. Maybe I'll just throw them in the car and go drive by fire stations for them. Haha!

mrswillie I think it's "warm" enough to take them for a walk. But yeah, I'd worry about running off. I'd like to take Leo to an indoor play place this week. They def need to run energy off!
requiressnacks, their hair is so amazing. Meanwhile, Cora has followed the unfortunate pattern that her brother and sister started and has lost all of the hair on top of her head. I thought it was from cradle cap with them, but she doesn't have cradle cap. Dr. Google says it's from no longer getting my hormones that she was getting when she was still on the inside.
School was cancelled today because of icy roads. I haven't been out to check, but they must be bad because they made a big deal that this year they wouldn't be closing schools for weather at all. Instead they'd only be doing a 2 hour delay. They actually cancelled school for the whole day though. They weren't already off for MLK day -- instead they randomly have next Monday off. Their school does this every year. They never get MLK day off, but get a random Monday off later in the month. It's going to be a long day though; DD1 lost all use of electronics and all crafting and art supplies yesterday for 2 weeks or until she completes some required tasks to earn it back. She's pretty stubborn and there's a 50/50 chance she'll wait it out for the 2 weeks.

The big girls spent the night with the ILs last night so Hazel and I are still snuggling in bed. I should probably get up sometime, but it's warm and comfy in here.
littlelion, are you in the Chicago area or am I thinking of someone else? If so, if you aren't too far from Elk Grove, my kids freaking loved Jumps and Jiggles at the Pavilion when they were toddlers.

Yes I am, thanks! That place looks like a lot of fun. I'll have to make a day out of it just me and Leo.

Be prepared to ride the carousel a million times. Unless things have changed, it's free and unlimited with the fairly cheap admission!

we are getting smiles! I'm so glad too because my grandmother just passed away this morning. We'll be going down to Phoenix for the funeral. I called Jane's Dr. To see what advice she can give for an 8-10 hour drive. We'll stop in Flagstaff at my mom's when we go. Hopefully it won't be a big deal.
Lucy all my babies were bald. DS3 actually has the most hair on the back of his head out of all of them. He had a little bit on top. Now it's gone. Good thing it hasn't been a frigid 6 weeks! Eek!

Thanks for the Sunday pep talk, ladies. This stuff is hard, and it seems like our baby doesn't follow "normal" patterns so it's been difficult to figure out how to keep her happy.
Today we're testing out feeding, play, tiny feeding, nap... which seems to be helping (I hope!). We're on nap #2 for today and screaming has been minimal 😉
We're just hanging out today, will probably go out later, not sure where we'll go.
Oh and I finally bought a bouncer that baby likes!!! OMG having a place to set her down that doesn't make her scream has felt life changing. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet... but I'm praying she keeps liking it enough to allow me to do things (like brush teeth, pee, eat, you know.... the basics) once dh goes back to work.
mrswillie, @kc295905, every time it's happened all of H's relatives start talking about how much the babies look like H's dad. They can't pinpoint why...

DH got off work this morning and is currently sleeping. When he gets up I'm telling him I need a break. i think I'll go get a pedicure and he can just deal with that.
Awwww catherineoctober so sorry for your loss. I found long drives to be easier the younger they were because they'd sleep a good amount of the way with stopping for usual feeding times and changing diapers. So it took a bit longer than normal. Good luck!
