It was nasty so we stayed home Saturday. Didn't do much. Yesterday was church and gaming. All in all normal boring weekend
Today it's wet and cold and foggy out so we have no plans. There's not a lot going on here. DH has to work becuase for some reason the district manager thinks everyone needs to work on MLK day. They will be no busier than any other Monday.
DS had his second soccer class on Saturday morning. He was pretty much insubordinate again but he loves it. After a failed nap attempt, we went to the mall, ate at Cheesecake Factory and let DS burn off some energy in the indoor play area. On Sunday, we hung in but it was warm enough out for DH to take DS out on his bike for a little bit. We also switched the car seats to FF and did a test run and DS seems to love his new arrangement!
Neither DH or I have off for MLK so back to work as usual today...
Saturday we went grocery shopping. Then came home, had lunch, Clara napped, we just sat. Then when she got up we took down the Christmas tree and things (yes I know but this month has been rough). We organized Clara's toys to make room for her new ones. I still have out all her old toys because we don't have storage but it looks so much better in the living room / play room! Then MH got us some mozzarella sticks and potato skins for dinner! We put Clara to bed and watched the Patriots! On Sunday we went to the Rain Forest at the zoo because it is inside and it was nice to get out. Then we went to Chipotle for lunch. Clara napped. We did laundry and hung out. MH cooked some things for us to have for dinner this week while he is away! We also planned a data night next Saturday to go over all of his interviews and try to rank all the places! I can't believe he is finally in his last year! We are also hoping I get my review sometime this week and get promoted. If I don't then that might mean Cleveland isn't number one anymore. That's about it! Oh and I don't have MLK day off so I am at work
meggypoo1, if it makes you feel better, we still haven't taken down our Xmas tree! We were going to this weekend but never got around to it so we'll do it this week.

I honestly need a break from my weekend! Friday I spent packing everything for me and the kids. Saturday we left at around 830 to head out of town for traveling basketball. We shopped at a few stores, grabbed lunch and then went to a friends house close to where V plays Bball on Sunday. We hung out and played gamees with our friend. Then it was up and on the road at 7 for Bball tournament. The younger girls did pretty good. I obviously pack a lot of snacks so they pretty much want to just eat and run around all day. We left by 245 and made it home in time to watch 3 quarters of the game GO PACK GO!!!
I'm now realizing how expensive going out is going to be with a family of 5. Lunch we ate at Timberlodge and it was $94 with a tip. V gets a steak which is fine because she eats it all. But the kids each wanted something different so we ordered 2 kids meals. And then each of them picked at everything. And the serving sizes were the same as for adults. So we got lots of leftovers, but it was expensive. And then Lunch the next day was $65 because I ordered something light, shared a kids meal, and I told everyone only water. I'm used to eating at buffets that charge the kids .75 per year, lol

I took down all of the outside decorations except the reindeer and the ducks. Yes, ducks...who knew those were Christmas decorations?!? Ds loves them. They are coming down today I hope! (H is off work). I worked sat morning. The park was crazy this weekend. It was 70 degrees so it makes sense. Ds is so into routine and remembers everything. So much so that he told me where the ducks would be at the park (so we could go feed them). One of the places was correct, the other wasn't...but how does he remember this stuff! Dreading this weekend a little because h is going out of town.
We did some cleaning/organizing over the weekend, but I still don't feel like we did enough. We've been in our new house almost 2 months now, and it's so stressful having so many things on the to-do list and not enough time/energy to do it all.
Saturday we had no swim lessons so we just hung out. DD woke up early and then didn't nap so by the time bedtime rolled around I was done. Sunday DD was up at 6 but managed to get her back to sleep by 6:30 and she slept till 9:30. We both needed it. Then made muffins and got out for a run. After her nap we did sledding in the backyard and it was pretty fun. Today I'm off work but daycare is opened so I'm home cleaning and trying to organize stuff
My child who normally LOVES bath time, BEGS to take a bath every night, has now boycotted baths because I bought a new bath mat. It's blue. He cries and screams "The bath is WHITE! I want the WHITE one!" I'm just completely speechless. Sorry kid. The white one was gross, and it's already in the garbage. I don't know what else to tell him.
The week ahead- just hung out at the mall. J would constantly go through my Yankee Candle bag to take a hit (smell them) and then run off and play. I hope to get the Simply Fit Board this week, YES I'M BUYING IT! I may cave and but J a Polar Express train cause I can't handle the constant asking for it. I knew I should have gotten him one for Xmas. I'm sure we'll do Disney on Saturday.
DS also refused to nap on Saturday. He chatted and played for 2 hours while sitting in bed but no nap
This is what DS did on Saturday. I'm hoping it was because he slept late on Saturday and not the start of a new trend. He did nap on Sunday.
DD hasn't really napped since Thursday. She fell asleep for about 20 mins in the car on the way home from church yesterday. Might be the lack of a pacifier, but she's been ok at night.
DS is teething like a beast so we're all miserable.
H is home and we're doing nothing because if you want to do something with 2 kids the morning has to be entirely dedicated to getting everyone ready and out, not lazy easing into the day.
oh and DS may have had some kind of reaction to the bananas we gave him this weekend. I thought he was teething because all day saturday he kept putting his hand in his mouth and telling me it hurt, but he switched between saying tongue and tooth hurt. He told me it 'burns, is on fire'. Tylenol didn't help but Advil (anti-inflammatory) did. Then sunday morning he was just fine, gave him a banana for midmorning snack and within minutes he was complaining his mouth was on fire again, gave advil and he was fine after that.
We're so confused, he's never had a reaction to bananas before.
We didn't do much this weekend, just cleaning and playing outside since it was 75 degrees. Yesterday, DH and I went to his co-worker's baby shower.
I'm off today for the holiday and the power went out about 2 hours ago. Of course, I had just started the washing machine. The guy from the electric company initially told me it shouldn't be long, but we came back from a walk and he said it could take all day to get it back on. I may have to pack up my freezer stash and take it to my mom's.
We went to DH's work Christmas party on Saturday. They got us a hotel room and my parents took the kids. It was great. On Sunday we traveled home and then watched the Packers win!
Tomorrow we are getting new countertops installed, but that's pretty much our only plan for the week.
H worked on Sat so it was the boys and I. We went to Costco and the dog park. DS1 loves Costco and always asks to go. I will not be taking both kids to the dog park alone ever again. DS1 kept running away and I couldn't keep up since I was wearing DS2.
In the evening I went to have a couple drinks to celebrate my friend's birthday. I finally got to meet her friends from work and we all got along really well. One even lives 5 min from me and has a baby boy 1 month younger than DS2. I hope that we can work on a friendship but I am so awkward about these things.
ETA Sunday we had a lazy day around the house. Not much going on this week except work. DS2 is teething and pissed off about it.
