We will be house hunting soon as well. I'm kind of freaking out about it because house prices have gone through the roof here the last few years. Houses that were $250,000 five years ago are now $500,000. I know I can't keep thinking about the past and "what ifs" and need to accept the current situation, but damn it's hard.
We always intended the place we live now to be short term, and thought we would make a more permanent decision in a few years. Well it's now a few years later and we are almost priced out of the areas we want to live. We can't wait to get out of the house we are in now, so staying isn't an option either. I'm just hoping it all magically comes together for us.
If all goes as planned (which means if the government gives me the money they owe me) we'll be house hunting soon. For our first house. I'm both excited and terrified. Like NellieOleson the areas we want to live are probably out of our price range. Ideally, we would stay in this same area so that S doesn't have to change schools, but realistically, we'll have to move either to the opposite end of the city, or back over where my parents used to live. Unless I have a car by then, and we could potentially afford something in one of the little towns just outside the city. It's a lot to think about. I know what my must haves are, and what I can live without, so that narrows it down some.
I really don't think I could do the Kong Mari thing. I'm way too sentimental, which I why last year when I went through my clothes I still had stuff from high school. One thing I would like to do is a complete overhaul of my clothes. I want to get rid of like 90% of them and but new stuff. The problem is I have no idea how to dress myself in the summer. Well, that, and I can't afford a whole new wardrobe.

He's never going to gain any weight if he never eats. I kind of want to just give up on dinner for a week. He still drinks bottles, so it's ok right? Probably not.
Every night, without fail, he cries. You could put a bowl of frosting in front of him and it would still be some great insult to him.
He does eat well for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, but dinner is always a lost cause.

Can you try dinner earlier? I realize that may not work with work but maybe he is just tired?? Can you do his big "dinner" meal at lunch and do dinner more like a snack? I don't know but I know L won't eat if tired.
14joa31 diet bet is going ok. I have 2lbs to go too. But this is my bloaty crappy week so no progress the past couple days. I am struggling with hunger level. I am tracking my food so I know I am technically eating enough but I am often way hungry.
Hi everyone. I'm not doing so hot tonight. I feel nauseous and dizzy. I just want to go to sleep for days but I have to catch up on a few things on my to do list. DH will be home on Saturday and I can't wait.
silverspoon, I agree with maybe making dinner a smaller meal and offering it earlier. DS eats dinner around 4 or 4:30 and bedtime is at 7. He doesn't do super great at meals in general but he is getting better every week. scorpioscuba, so glad the organization is working for you. You did an amazing job. Lollipop, your mama sounds awesome! Sorry the movie didn't work out. dizzycooks, the pics you took today looked like you did a beautiful job entertaining them. I can imagine it was very draining. Supermom! NellieOleson, I can sort of empathize with YH because I'm very impulsive and take control of a situation right away. I can definitely see why it's not always the best route. kcrkcs, great job at getting healthier. Stay safe pinktartan9, get well soon! 14joa31, well I certainly hope our house in LA sells because it's been on the market for 1.5 years now :/
icequeen I didn't realize you still had the la house! How stressful! 14joa31 and silverspoon I think dh and I agreed to sell in the fall. We won't rent, but idk where I'll go if there's not overlap.. NellieOleson you can handle no stove for a week. It's freaking annoying, but it can be done. You have a microwave right? My dh came home complaining he feels sick tonight and then went to bed promptly at 845. I did too BC why not? Now he's feverish and the baby is up and so am I. Ugh.
kcrkcs you are kicking my butt at the step challenge. I don't know how to get more steps in and you're just rocking it! Great work with the healthy changes

I do believe you killed me over the weekend. Good job! If I wasn't running all over hell and back walking horses in and out I wouldn't get nearly as many. Plus in the winter to keep warm I pace around while I teach.
dizzycookskcrkcs you're both kicking my butt! I might actually be able to sort of keep up today though. Wednesday is usually my highest step day in a week.
My sister should be here in about an hour to drive us to the doctors office, M is still asleep, and I'm still in bed. I need to get us up and going but my bed is so warm.

I'm sad I'm missing out on the Fitbit challenges. Mine is dead and won't charge. It's my 2nd or 3rd one and not sure if I want to spend the money to get another.
Good luck on all the house hunting ladies! And FX that LA house sells soon, how frustrating icequeen. When H is done with school and we have a better idea if we are staying here and what kind of job he'll get I want to get a new house with at least a bigger yard. Ours is so small. I will probably never be able to sell my current house for what it is worth so I'll just keep it as a rental property.

I'm sending H a house a day from Realtor.com or one of the other 3 sites I check regularly. We aren't in the position to buy at the moment, but just keeping him motivated. My new Kon Mari kick should at least make showing the house and moving easier.
We are planning on completing one of the obstacles in the way of selling our house this weekend. My parents are keeping J and we are going to take advantage of this freakishly warm weather.
M had a good check up. She's right where she should be as far as her growth curves go. Her head circumference jumped back up to her original percentile though, which is weird. The doctor wants to see her, S, and me in May for check ups. H should really have a check too, but he doesn't have a family doctor lol.

14joa31 - I am just so nervous that these huge price increases are another bubble and we will end up with a house that we will never be able to sell without taking a huge loss. Everything points to prices continuing to climb, but ugh. It's stressful.
silverspoon - it sounds like he eats great the rest of the day, so I'm sure he'd be fine not eating dinner for a while. I agree with everyone else - he's probably just tired and worn out. Have you tried holding him in your lap and letting him munch on toast or a pouch? Maybe being held and having more of a snack than a meal would help for now.
It will get better.
icequeen - You know, I never really thought of it like that before. I think the problem is that he is impulsive and just wants to tackle a problem immediately, and I am more the type to think through all the options, worry about different consequences, and decide after deliberating a bit. Our problem solving styles clash and we both annoy each other. I think he's crazy, he thinks I'm a naysayer. Maybe if I keep in mind it's just a difference in styles, not a personal attack it will help us get along a little better in those situations.
dizzycooks - the new stove is supposed to be delivered on Friday, so it's microwave cooking over here until then. Wheeee! We set up a propane camping stove out on a covered patio as well.
After my H called from Lowe's with his terrible idea, he had a better idea and went to Home Depot. They had the same range for the same price and were able to deliver much, much sooner.
NellieOleson - it could very well be a new housing bubble. I saw an article in the Washington Post that says home prices are climbing to bubble-level prices once more
Since I'm in the DC/Baltimore suburbs, however, home prices here never went back down. We are sort of isolated from the roller coaster of pricing. Fingers crossed that we all land our dream home - and that those homes will only ever appreciate in value!!
I bought the fit bit charge - it's still sitting in the box. Technology scares me! I'll open up the box at some point ... scorpioscuba - it really sucks that your fit bits keep pooping out on you

So they caught 6 kids on camera using my cards at 4 stores. How fucking hard is it to go pick them up and charge them?? Oh and I checked my accounts today (my new daily habit...) and several transactions cleared so I had next to nothing to spend on groceries until I move things around and they get stuff reversed. So annoying! Fuck you little boys, fuck. you.
I'm bushed. I had to take the long way to/from school because it's so warm here right now that the sidewalks are clear, but the field is still covered in snow. My mom should be here in about an hour. H's new phone should be here by Friday. I can't wait. I hate not being able to talk to him when he's gone all day.
dizzycooks, I would be on the authorities' asses nonstop. Unacceptable. NellieOleson, totally get it. I am just so impatient and want to solve the problem right away.
So sick. Hopefully this is just a 24 hr bug but holy shit last night was horrible. I'm going to bed now because I'm starting to feel queasy again. Maybe I'll sleep through it :/
