obi, I have one piece of advice for a csection: buy underwear that is higher up so it won't ride on the scar (mesh panties are amazing for that) and have comfy pants with a soft band like yoga pants or leggings. I wish I had known that before I was in recovery.
Sitting on the train. Doors are broken and they can't get them closed. So they made us all get off and wait for the next one to come along. At least the fare will be refunded but now I won't get home in time to say goodnight to J. ☹️
Awww You and DH both. His train is broken too.
Stupid public transit.
The night only got better from there (sarcasm font). Stay tuned...

So this is what I sent my team when I got home....
For this evening's entertainment, imagine if you will, a cherished colleague arriving home after a tiresome journey. Weary, in one hand she carries a laptop bag, in the other, dinner for her husband. Before her stands a new mountain to climb.... the icy driveway, so slick she couldn't park her car and left it in the middle of the street.
After a few tentative steps she appears to have found her footing, only to be sorely mistaken. In one graceless move, she falls to the ground, her knee colliding painfully with the icy pavement, the dinner escaping from the bag and littering the drive. In defeat, she collects herself with a sigh, pulls out her phone and calls the aforementioned husband to help her up and into the house.
Upon seeing her, the husband bursts into poorly controlled fits of laughter, extends the handle of a shovel and attempts to assist her into the house. She manages to slowly make her way into the garage only to realize that they do not have any salt and it's garbage night. This treacherous adventure must be completed again.
Needless to say, the husband is out buying salt and will be solely responsible for dispatching the garbage containers to the curb.

Oh, also obi, stay on top of your pain management schedule (including stool softeners). Take the meds they provide even if you feel like you're ok. I had a fairly smooth recovery and I know that helped with it. Maintaining my comfort was integral to feeling like a human after such a tough couple of days.
obi, I had a "breast friend" pillow and I remember that being more comfortable for nursing. I can't remember why, but I liked it better than the boppy for those early days.
It's icy here and all the schools are closed. I made it to work safe and sound. I'm going to call around at some point and schedule quotes for central air. MH and I are finally going to break down and get it. It will help sell the house too in a couple of years.
We did this a few years ago. It's expensive but worth it. We also scheduled it during our vacation so a lot of the work was done while we we gone.
