steph that's a lot. Even though daycare brings its own set of emotions it'll be nice to have a break to focus on work. Hopefully you can relax a little this weekend.
I just had a scary situation that really freaked me out (but everything is ok now).
Our dog is super sweet but has a lot of anxiety (she actually takes prozac). On occasion when she gets very anxious she does nip, and has a few times drawn blood on me and the vet. However she has always been great with the babies. Since they minute they came home she has loved them. She is protective of them and will even go check on them when they cry.
This week G discovered the dog, and constantly reaches out to touch her. It had been fine because the dog can back away if G accidentally hits her in the face. But this morning G grabbed the dog's face and wouldn't let go. The dog started screeching and I thought she was going to bite G (she didn't). I jumped in and pulled them apart. The dog was growling and nipped me a few times (her warning nip, not to hurt me). Looking back I actually think she responded fairly appropriately, but it was pretty scary in the moment.
Anyway, that was longer than it probably needed to be, it just really freaked me out and I needed to tell someone.

I got up with kiddo at 6am and managed to get him to go back to sleep at 6:45. I had to pump and then crawled back in bed at 7:30 only for him to wake at 8am for the day. H got up at 9 am and he let me sleep until noon. I feel like a new person. Then I learned that while I was sleeping, he cleaned up the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, fed the kiddo some solids, played with him, and showered. He played Mr. Mom this morning and it was pretty cute. I think I'll keep him.

bocaburger thats definitely scary in the moment. Our pup was given up to a shelter because her previous owners claimed she bit their baby. When we adopted her (while knowing this) we were a few years out from kids but were in love with her. She has bitten H and I a few times, but has never broken the skin. So we watch her like a hawk around DS, but she's so good with him. Now that he's started throwing things and flailing his arms, he's hit her a few times. She has reacted and gone to bite him, but thankfully she catches herself and you can tell she feels remorseful. She will lower her head and lick his hand instead. Heart stopping moments for sure.
Awww poor doggies! We have a rescue dog with anxiety as well. H was stupid one day while he was playing with the baby and the dog was nearby and H put the baby in the dog's face and he growled, but did not nip thankfully. DD has started noticing the dog and smiling at him. She has accidentally kicked him a few times while the dog lays next to one of us and he has seemed okay with it. I think as long as he can back away when he wants, he's fine. Once DD is more mobile we might fence her into a corner of the room for playing to give the dog an escape
DD3 has a bunch of new eczema and a hoarse voice this morning. I don't know whether to suspect food or just a typical flair up plus a lot of Wonder Week/possible teething crying.

I'm starting to think DS will never get teeth. I'm ok with that though, his toothless grin is adorable. Although, I got my first tooth at 7 months, the same age DS is now. And since he was 7 weeks early, maybe he'll get one between 8 and 9 months? He's had very rosy cheeks this last week, and I've heard that can precede teething.

I swore ds1 was always teething. You could see them beneath the gums at 7 months. They popped through at 1 yr and 1 week!

Woah! That sounds awful to have the teeth soclose for that long!
C is ok. The ER doc looked her over and confirmed the wheezing/retractionams. The good news is that, without fever, it's most likely not RSV. We gave her some albuterol and she is happily snoozing now.
We're in reflux he'll again! Been on same dose since 2 months and I've been strict dairy free and he's been great. Now he doesn't want to sleep anywhere else but on us like he did before. I'm going to see how tonight goes. If it's like the last week I'm calling doctors tomorrow to see about increasing his dose. Poor thing is so uncomfortable. Has wet burps but the goes back down. Guess he felt I was getting too much sleep.
Do any of you have babies in size 3 diapers? I can't tell, thinking about sizing up, but e still seems small.
And when do babies usually grow out of spitting up? E spots up often. He seems fine with it, so I guess it's fine? Happy spitter and all.
My DD1 didn't stop spitting up until 9/10 months! She was fine with it too, but it was so gross. I was so tired of both of us changing clothes 5x a day.

Guys, I'm panicking about the ACA being repealed. My sister was just diagnosed with a pretty significant genetic disorder and I'm terrified she won't be able to get insurance with her preexisting condition and will be trapped in her current job.
Also, Sakinah how are you doing with all the anti-Muslim sentiment right now? If you need any extra support we are here for you.

hannahbear we're still hanging out in size 2. DD was 15lbs 9oz at recent sick visit and we'll have her in 2s for at least a few more weeks. The 3s just seen giant!
