Ds2 had his 6 month today too. I had a lot of questions about appropriately feeding him too. Ds is 70some height percentile and 20some weight percentile. Dr assured me that it was okay though. He is continuing up the growth curve. I talked to him about introducing formula with breast milk. I'm not there yet, but it will be soon.
Yeah, DS is now about 4th percentile for weight and he's dropped each appointment, so at this point we're a bit concerned. He has a weight check in 6 weeks. I'm not opposed to adding formula, but he doesn't take a bottle.
I'm contacting a couple of LCs to see if we can confirm it's a supply issue and figure out a way to fix it. Pedi's only suggestions were to feed him more often and push high cal solids, but it's not like he eats infrequently and there are times when I try to feed him and he just won't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Did you ever have him checked for tongue tie? The LC I saw today was telling me about how she had oversupply and her kid gained a ton but he was tied so when her supply regulated, he wasn't emptying/ stimulating her supply and he didn't gain weight from like 6 to 9 months. This was before she was an LC and they helped her get her supply up and someone fixed his tie. He was gaining well at first because of the strong letdown and he wasn't doing any work to get milk just gulping.
Also @comisansneue the LC today showed me how to cup train an infant. So basically like a small shot glass, seal it in the corner of their mouth and tip it up until they learn to slurp. Syringe feeding is also an option if he's okay at taking medicine from them, they have ones that hold 50mls at a time.
Thanks becole, no he hasn't been checked for ties. I'm hoping we can get in to see an lc and evaluate the whole enchilada.
He is the WORST at taking things from a syringe. Today he had to get a second thing of rotavirus vaccine because he spit the entire first one out. On the second one I showed the nurse how we keep his paci in and squirt it into the side of his mouth to try to get him to suck it down; even then half came back out and she was like well, it's good they only need a little bit of this.

4. Doc confirmed that I'm having a massive flare up of my tennis elbow. It's the worst it's ever been. I blame holding a baby. Seriously. Got a rx for OT and I'm legit so excited. I am really tired of being in constant pain.
And I got an ex for cough syrup with codeine. This cold settled in my chest and will not budge.

Both my girls sucked the rotavirus right out of this package and got mad when it was done.
My kid cried worse than the shot when given the rotavirus. He gets seriously pissed when you invade his mouth with anything he hasn't invited in.
But that also could be a sensitivity like my little guy comicSans. He basically doesn't want anything in his back soft palate and nurses shallow and that's why he doesn't want a bottle. He gags a lot too. She showed me things to do with my finger in his mouth to try to de sensitize him. But your guy takes a paci so maybe not. I bet an LC can get to the bottom of it.
