I am trying to do things that need to be done..but. Well you know. Lol.
DDs bday is tomorrow she will be 2. My god..I can't believe she has grown so fast.
My lil man did a better sleep in the first half and then..well it was hell after. I slept till 9 and forced myself to get the hell up. I need to do some things. Like get all things in order for next weekends bday party.
I will let you know if I am successful at maybe 1 or 2 of the 10. Lol
Baby went five hours last night, but she was sleeping on my husbands chest while he was on the computer. This proves that she can sleep longer, just doesn't want to do it unless she's in contact with one of us. I must figure out how to translate that to us ALL sleeping for five hours.

crimpgirl, its pretty easy with one lil one we used to do 8hrs to buffalo. i did it once alone, had to stop to feed 2x. We are going to buffalo next weekend, 5 hrs..2 kids..meh.
Hi girls - dd is getting harder and harder to put down at night, meanwhile, I couldn't sleep and was awake through her 3:30a - 5:45a sleep. Someone shoot me. The second I let myself start to fall asleep, she starts fussing. After a while, I'm just awake and anxious. Any tips?
A friend is coming over this afternoon and I've been trying to help dd nap all morning. It's all I do lately.
We have a four hour road trip in our future, once we get back to our regularly scheduled sleep schedule. I keep putting it off by telling my grandmother the doctor said she's not allowed to travel yet, but that line will only work for so long. Of course, the doctor said a road trip is totally fine, but I'm scared!

No tips.....but I can commiserate. It's the worst when they are asleep and I can't sleep.
WineNChocolate, those are adorable! So sweet! requiressnacks, Cora is my first baby to care about a poop diaper. She hates it and demands a change right away. The others were content to sit in it until we noticed. So gross.

requiressnacks, i put oil on her head (i had apricot kernel oil handy, but coconut or any other oil will work too), let it soak in, and then use a comb and brush her hair against the growth pattern of her hair to loosen up the flakes. Then apply more oil. I had to do that with DD1 for several weeks b/c she had wicked bad cradle cap. DD2 just has a few dry spots, so I've been doing it to try and keep it from getting worse. Our biggest skin issue is baby acne- she looks like a teenager with the shiny face and breakouts...
@kc295905, my kid has become a poop factory the past couple of days too- luckily we have more wipes than we know what to do with at the moment
LO must be going through a growth spurt...we've been giving her 4oz during the day and 3oz and night (she is the world's SLOWEST eater and we didn't want to sit up forever at night) and she's been going 3-5 hrs at night...last night, she was up the first time at exactly 3 hrs which was 3am. I got up, fed and changed her, and put her back down. I don't think either of us really went back to sleep b/c I kept hearing her on the monitor. At 5:15, she started fussing so I went in. She was pulling her legs to her chest and fussing, which usually means poop, but her diaper was clean and the paci and rocking quieted her down. 10 mins later she was fussing again, so DH went in and put the paci back in and she seemed to calm down...in the time it took him to walk back to our room and sit on the bed, she went into full-on meltdown mode....this is unusual for her b/c she usually only reaches that point if she's hungry and you take too long with her bottle. He went back in and thought she might be dirty so he tried to change her and that only made her more angry. In the end, we decided she must be hungry and just skipped our usual hunger queues (grunting like a caveman and then making these noises that sound like she's asking where her food is) and went straight to melt-down. After we fed her again, it was 6:15 and DH had to be up by 6:30 and I had to be up by 7 to get DD1 to school on time- so I've been up since 3am today. I should be napping, since DD2 , but I usually use the days DD1 is at school to catch up on work for the blog I write for, and to enjoying watching adult TV, so I'm having a hard time sleeping- I'm sure I'll be ready to nod off right about the time DD1 gets home from school, but by then it will be too late.

We had Noras 2 month Pediatrician appointment this morning, then went to target. She had to get 3 vaccines in her legs and the rotavirus one they drink. DH literally had the Tylenol in a syringe and squirted it in her mouth the second the shots were over. It's always so hard to see them in pain but I nursed her right after and she's been great since!

LucyWineNChocolate very cute! I'd love a knit hat for Alex. tbonequeen13 get to napping lady! @kc295905 I understand how you feel about the scrutiny...I feel that way with my older sister. When in doubt, head to target!

It's tough to make yourself fall asleep instantly. Try to relax, maybe some hot chamomile tea can help next time.
One trick we'd do with ds1 was to use the stroller for naps. Strap baby in and just push back and forth.

If anyone is looking for an inexpensive alternative to a Tula or Ergo, I'm kind of in love with this thing, and Cora likes it a whole lot better than the mei tai.

Library and lunch with my sister went well. Leo had fun playing in the toy area and even read a couple books. Alex was out like a light for over 4 hrs. My boobs felt like exploding! Afternoon has been rough again no sleeping. Fx bedtime will be early and easy. I need some down time.

Both kids are finally sleeping. I wish I had some champagne to celebrate after the long day. I have some lame miller lite that'll have to do.
Dh is also already snoring away. Nothing on tv. I'm done googling (today was all about how to cook salmon). I even tried logging on to work to look something up but my password has expired.

littlelion, I'm so glad your day went well! Enjoy the downtime. I actually logged into my work PC today to clear out my inbox. Not surprisingly, the business is still up and running without me.
As for me, I am drinking wine and just ordered a shutterfly book of our newborn photos (free 8x8 book right now - code BIGTHANKS). Gawd...the time goes so fast...sniff, sniff...
I really should go to bed, as the babies are asleep but I'm so enjoying the peace and quiet.
