My house is still a mess but I got some work done. Just needed 3 passwords reset. Smh. I got my w2's so need to get the rest of the papers in order for filing taxes asap.
I took Cora to the dr this morning feeling like a total overreacting mom, but when they're this little it's so hard to tell when things are serious. She's been acting off since Wednesday afternoon. Super cranky, not eating like normal, not sleeping at all. She's not a colicky baby -- she gets mildly fussy in the evenings, but nothing like my other babies who were the definition of colicky. She'd fall asleep and wake up crying like she was in pain. She'd fuss through all her bottles and was only eating half what she normally would. Then last night i was putting a bib on her to feed her and bumped her ear with it and she started screaming. So I assumed it was her ears. We gave her tylenol and she finally slept. So off to the doc to get it looked at.
Her ears are fine. She had a mild fever, but it was after a dose of tylenol, so it could have been higher. The doc thinks its just the virus DS had earlier this week making her feel rotten. Super.

Confession #2: I always smell like milk. Dh was asleep last night and after hugging him he said I smelled good. Pretty sure it was the milk. It's a fine line between smelling like sweet milk vs stale.
lastnamewithheld both DS1 and 2 had reflux but were gaining weight so the pedi wasn't too concerned. DS2's was a lot worse with how much he spit up and would scream even with all the tricks we tried. He did so much better after we started Zantac. He got so much better as he got closer to a year and didn't need it.

My husband got called into work tonight. There' will be no brewery today. Boo.
I hate MHs workplace. It's really not cool to make people go in on their days off with like 3 hours notice. Not to mention, I've been parenting around the clock since Tuesday. Grrrr.
I'm taking the babies to my friends house for a visit. No need to waste the fact that I took a shower and put real pants on.
Ugh! WTF to your DH's work! Sorry! Hope you get there another day soon and have fun tonight.

Has anyone's doctor recommended a probiotic? We started on Mylicon to help with gas, but the doctor also recommended the Gerber Soothe probiotic drops. I haven't made it to the pharmacy yet for the drops, but the Mylicon seems to be helping.

Not for the baby yet, but did for my older ones.... especially DS2 who was always on antibiotics for ear infections.

My confession.... we're visiting my family. DS gave my parents little Christmas gifts he got them at the school Christmas shop. He got the same for both sets of grandparents which included a necklace for the grandmothers. My mother's was broken when she took it out of the package. It was cheap and the thought that counts.....but I switched it out with the one for MIL! Screw that.... you want to come make a mess at my house and take a nap on my couch while visiting, then you get the broken one! Plus, I filled out the form and sent it in to school. 😂
I'm thinking requiressnacks will get a kick out of this! Bhahaha!

Yesssss! I love this! Anyone that comes to your house after you just had a baby and takes a nap deserves a broken necklace. 😂😂😂

Lucy, apparently I'm the opposite and wasn't being cautious enough. I was out of the house taking my make-up final exam on Wednesday, so FI was home with the kids. DS was freaking out crying, and FI was sitting on the couch with his knees up and DS propped against them, trying to calm him down. Then DS squirmed real hard and threw himself to the side off of FI's lap, and FI tried to catch him by grabbing his leg. DS ended up hitting his face on the ground and got a bit of a blood blister. He cried after that happened, but FI was able to get him down for a nap. By the time I got home, he was acting normal, and didn't appear to be in pain so we didn't bother calling the doctor. But then the next day, FI mentioned what happened to his therapist, and the therapist reported it to CPS. They accused FI of severe neglect, and said they could add on general neglect against me since I didn't call the doctor either, even though I wasn't there. So social workers came to my house and told us we needed to take him to the ER. So I took him last night and spent 12 hours there while they took blood samples twice, a urine sample, a CT scan, and full body X-rays. It was crazy! But we found out that my poor little guy has a hairline fracture on his femur where FI caught him. Now he's in a splint, and we have to follow up with the ortho next week. I'm really frustrated that we're being accused of neglect though. Even our pediatrician said it was strange when I talked to him. Like, how are we supposed to know anything is wrong if he's acting completely normal? I had even moved his leg around while changing him without him fussing at all, and even the doctor at the ER said sometimes babies won't cry when they have a break. On top of that, the social workers were acting really unprofessionally the whole night, so that made me really upset.

lbonga1 I'm so sorry! That sounds crazy to me that they can charge something like that when it was reasonable for you to think he wasn't injured. And I sit like that with S all the time too. That is something that could happen to anyone!
mrswillie I should have slept! We had an exhausting day after that!
lastnamewithheld ultrasound was all good! So relieved. She had two more spit ups afterwards and we are starting the Zantac (correct spelling, thank you!) tomorrow. I hope it helps at least a little bit. Knowing that doc was a bit iffy on medication until she saw her spit up makes me feel better about giving it to her. Hope your LO is okay?
S has been super sleepy since her shot today. Slept 2.5 hrs and then DH woke up with her and is still asleep and it has been another 2.4 hrs. I finally woke up in a pool of breastmilk and had to get up and pump. Going back to bed now.
lbonga1 oh wow! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. So many things happen with LO's all the time. If he seemed fine, I'm not sure I would've done anything different either. I hope it heals quick.
