After playing phone tag with dd's pedi yesterday we talked this morning. We're trying only breastfeeding today to see how she does. Doc thinks that either she's learned boob is better and is eating efficiently or there's something else going on. We have a weigh in appointment tomorrow. She also thinks that since dd fights the bottle now that she may have developed reflux so if we can just get her off the bottles that will solve that problem. I'm very intrigued to see what happens. If she really is just an efficient eater and we can be done with the other crap I will be more than happy to feed more.
Nothing much going on here. Getting some random stuff done at home, pumped some milk for the freezer, and takin it easy. Will probably go for a hike after nap time. making red wine and goat cheese risotto for dinner 😍
I have a FTM question (from a Third time mom, ugh):
We're taking the older kids to Great Wolf Lodge next month for their birthdays. I wasn't planning on taking Cora in the water at all, but now I'm kind of wondering if I can. She loves the water at bath, and this is heated to near her bath temperatures. But is she too young for the pool water? I'm going to ask at her 2 month appt on the 30th, but maybe someone else knows the answer too. Do they even sell swim diapers in her size??

I had a pretty good day. Took the babies to see my niece play basketball. Luckily my sister was with me so it was awesome having an extra set of hands. Then I came home and took a long walk and made enchiladas for dinner. H is home tonight so we spent a long time talking about current issues (there are so many!) and vacation planning.
The babies went right to sleep at 7:45 so I think I'm going to hit the sack soon.

mrsp121308 took Hazel swimming! She seemed ok. Right?
Cora and I slept until 10am this morning. Then she hasn't had more than a cat nap all day. I'm kind of worried that she's going to sleep terribly tonight.
I haven't done anything today besides a trip to Meijer this morning. Tomorrow will be more of the same.

Yes, she loved it. The water was a little chilly so I'd get out with her every once in awhile and wrap her in the towel to warm up, but she loved it.
We went out for our first expedition that was longer than three hours, meaning I had to feed her away from home. We had lunch then went to an antique mall. She slept the entire time, except when she was eating. I had to feed her in the car, but that was more comfortable for my first time feeding in public anyway. I told my husband she gave me a false sever of security about venturing out.
My parents are here and my mom is giving me a hard time about waking her to feed her during the day. I need to clarify with the doctor, but if it's working right now, why would I stop? Do you wake your breastfed babies during the day? She eats 8 times a day typically.
She's also giving me grief about holding the baby too much, and said that if I don't stop she'll scream at daycare all day when I go back to work, so now I'm upset about that. 😕

Nope! She can go in. And yes, they make swim diapers that small. DS1 and 2 were both in our pool by ~10 weeks. The pedi said it was fine. I'd def try it. She'll probably like it. 😊

lola tell her to STFU. Lol. Ok. Not so much in those words (or maybe), but you can't "spoil" a baby that little. She'll be absolutely fine at daycare! 👍

lola I don't wake up the baby to feed. He avgs 2 hrs, longest was a little over 4. My pedi was only concerned about waking to feed early on. And I get a lot of my aunts correcting me on how I hold baby, how long I hold him, if he's warm enough, etc, etc. It's aggravating esp when it's something like covering him up excessively. DNW baby overheating.
6:30 am and my boys are sleeping... oh, not anymore because the %#&$*?! fire alarm went off at the hotel for 30 seconds and then shut off. Ok, so I guess we don't need to evacuate. I checked the halls and outside with no signs of anybody evacuating. I called the front desk. They answered but it disconnected. I called back. No answer. Figured they were getting a bunch of questions. And this made me realize we'd like first floor rooms from now on so we don't have to carry 3 LO's down the stairs who were just awakened by a fire alarm.
ETA: I went in the shower and someone knocked at the door saying we had to evacuate. 20 minutes after they shut the alarm off. WTF! We left an headed to my parents house. There was smoke and the smell of fire in the hall. I'm thinking there was a small electrical fire somewhere.

littlelion Everyone's an expert on our babies, huh? I have a baby that easily overheats.
requiressnacks You'll be great! It's silly, but I always tell myself that showing up and giving 50 percent or 75 percent is better than not showing up at all. And especially after having TWO babies, you deserve all of the slack.

My husband just asked if I could take the baby so he could get a little more sleep. So I said, "How is it that you get more sleep while I take the baby, when I'm the one who gets up with her all night!?" #rude
We had my nieces' birthday party yesterday morning. We hung around their house quite awhile after and then went to the mall and out to dinner before going to a couple basketball games last night. We were literally gone from 8am-10pm yesterday. Hazel does really well though, I think at this point she's so used to just being dragged along that it doesn't even faze her.

Our husbands must have been channeling each other last night! I may have out a dirty diaper in the trash can on his side of the bed to get even.

He sounds like my husband. He got mad this morning because the babies barely napped and it interrupted his nap time. Really dude?

Does she just casually nap when you are out and about? I did a lot of things yesterday and the babies completely missed their normal nap times and I was all worried about it
