I showed mh the Milkie after nursing. Granted it's narrow at the bottom so it looks like there's a ton in there but still, his reaction was worth it because he thought I was insane for getting one.
My H had the same reaction lakegirl. He knows not to mess with me and my milk output now after DD lol. He's resigned to losing most of our freezer space to the stash.

Yes! And he knows that it means he'll have milk to feed dd so he's more comfortable when I run out for my me time because I'm not pumping yet. And a happy wife with me time is worth it.
Have you tried looking at pictures or videos of lo? I've heard that can help...
I know you're feeling discouraged and frustrated sometimes but you're doing a great job. I know how hard it can be. Big hugs to you
Yes I do most times u pump she is right next to me too. Thank you. I need to stop whining about it really it is what it is. 😃
I'm genuinely impressed with your commitment to giving E as much BM as possible. Nursing and BM are important to me, but I can honestly say that if I had been through half of what you guys have been through I'd probably have quit a long time ago. So, kudos to you!

At 3 weeks old, DD is suddenly nursing for only about 8-10 min on one side (as opposed to taking 20-30 min at a time). This seems early to have gotten quicker at nursing, no? I can't remember when they get quicker. MOTN I totally let her nurse only twice for 10 min at a time because I was exhausted, but now I'm worried about supply, etc.
weeklyplanner I can barely get dd to nurse 10 minutes on a side. But I hear her chugging away and she's producing enough wet/dirty diapers. Ds was the same way. The LC said he was just very efficient so it's totally possible for them to be that quick at this point.
That being said I'm spazzing out about it until her weigh in at her two week appointment tomorrow!
Obviously everyone is diffferent but it never hurt my supply with ds weeklyplanner. He was still getting the same amount out, just in a fraction of the time. My kids will have awesome chugging skills for college.
weeklyplanner I'm with lakegirl. We are at 5-7 min per side already at 2 weeks old (and usually only one side). DS was the same way. I think it's fine.
weeklyplanner dd2 also nurses like 8-10 mins per side. I've kinda wondered the same thing as you, but she seems to be getting enough bc she is producing enough wets and dirty and gaining weight good so far.
Same here with the <10 minute nursing per side weeklyplanner. Except when B is sleepy, then he takes his sweet ass time half snoozing half half-heartedly sucking for like 20 mins.

We're at about 15 minutes a side at nearly 4 weeks but I'm bad about getting distracted and letting her fall asleep. And it's still a vast improvement over DS at this age.

It seemed to improve over night for us, so there is still hope!
Currently nursing W. He took a long nap this morning and gulped down the bottle I had pumped around 9. Hoping he will top off and go down for another nap after this.

tex, I had a Medela pumping bra, and the zipper broke immediately. I then got a simple wishes bra. I used it for a year with DD and then let a friend borrow it. I have it back and it's still in great condition.

That's good to know! The simple wishes bra is on sale with the cartwheel app at Target.

I guess I had good luck with the Medela one. I used it daily for over a year with no issues. I totally just jinxed myself and I bet it break when I pump tonight.
Soooooooooo L's upper lip keeps blistering. I think he possibly is sucking it in at some point during nursing. N's lip blistered in the same fashion, but he had an upper lip tie, and L definitely does not. Anyone else have this? I feel kinda bad about it, it keeps breaking open and peeling off and looks disgusting.
rinny, are you able to pull his lip out after he latches so it's more flange-like? C did this with her top and bottom lip initially and it made latches really painful. It's gotten better in the last week or so and I'm not sure if she's learning from me pulling it out or if her latch just got better
rinny, B has nursing blisters too. I think they're pretty common. Unless they seem to be bothering L, I'd say it's normal. My LC wasn't concerned when DD had them.
