I had lunch with my cousin yesterday. He and his fiancé are expecting a baby in June (a surprise, at least to him, but that is another story) and he wanted to ask me some questions about baby stuff. He kept saying things like "I don't really go out to bars or clubs that much anymore, so I don't think having a baby will be a huge lifestyle change." Um, well I guess he'll find out soon enough.
Morning! DH was not needed at work today so he's home. I have plans to go to the gym and to do the rest of my grocery shopping. I also have to call and reschedule S's tube surgery. Our insurance still isn't straightened out. I'm not real happy about this.

Nothing much to report over here. Just a dreary, rainy work day. I have so much to accomplish at work and home in the next few weeks that I'm a little stressed out. It'll all work out, but I just feel like I have to be in constant motion or thought to get it all done, which is exhausting just thinking about.
I may have been a little premature in switching S's clothes out. The 18m stuff is a bit big, but I already have everything packed so I'm not going back.
It is gross and rainy here today. I am headed into the office for the first time since 1/12. Boo. I want to be on my couch in pajamas.
Today is my first day back since 1/11.... definitely could've stayed home another day (or forever). We're a little over staffed today tho so I am going home 4 hours early, I normally work 12s. I am debating of what to do, I might get a pedicure or i might go home. I would LOVE to go home and nap but we live next to my IL's who is also daycare so I feel like if I go home then I have to get the kids because I'm being "watched".

Hehe for some reason I think kids in baggy slightly too big clothes are just extra cute. I have no idea why.
We went and signed up for the YMCA today! It's SO NICE. Huge facility with a kid gym (indoor playspace), indoor and outdoor pools, splash pad for the summer, and FREE CHILD CARE. Which I left C at while I did the tour and he loved. So win for me Signed both kids up for swim lessons and then went to kid gym for a bit, which has an actual corner of tiny gym equipment. Adorable. Now it's nap time for both and I'm getting stuff ready for work tonight/school tomorrow. Which means I'm standing at the counter eating m&ms and TCFing. Obviously. Pic of Lu working out. She's now worked out more than I have this year....
Omg Lu, I'm dying 🤗🤣💋 leahks77 that makes me so sad that we don't have a Y. Ugh I so wish. A new gym just opened up but of course didn't put in anything kid friendly. We have NO indoor play areas for kids in this town. Other than McDonalds and Burger King I guess, which I never go to.
DS slept in this morning, and we're supposed to go meet my new baby cousin tonight (she's like 2 weeks old). Apart from that it's a lazy day. I'm still tired since I didn't get to sleep until 2:30 last night. I may order the security blanket for DS because hey if it might help...

Yay squishy babe! Enjoy her. My child hates sleep. Always has, probably still does, but I still endorse the security blanket. I've seen it do its job in action. Hope it works the same magic on him.

not much going on today, but for the rest of the week everyday is another doctor appointment for G.
We went away this weekend to do her cake smash with our photographer and i found these hair barrettes that actually stay in her (almost) non existent hair! they are called wispsy clippy and they are magic. it is light so she doesn't even notice it, and she was playing with the blanket on and off her head and it stayed on the whole time. we got her a flower, and a couple bows

I think he may have a yeast diaper rash. It showed up suddenly after he had pooped and I didn't realize it for a while. Dark red, bumpy, awful looking.

leahks77 baby treadmill is just too cute! I was so excited when someone here mentioned free childcare at the Y, like, maybe this would be an option for us! Alas, not the case here. A family membership when the kids can participate in the programs would be awesome, though.

I picked up birthday outfits for the kids. So cute, I can't wait to see them dressed up! I also picked up some other items at the craft store for their cake and photo boards. I'm getting excited!
Tiny baby was adorable and like 7 lb so smaller than when ds was born. She was super cute, but I love how interactive ds is at this age versus newborn lol. Also ds had no idea what to make of the new baby, he touched her head at one point but mostly ignored her
leahks77 your Y sounds so much better than ours. They actually remodeled the one here a couple years ago and made it smaller, now it doesn't have a pool or basketball courts. But it still has free childcare so that's nice. They even do a "drop and shop" and you can leave your kids for like an hour or 2. And re big clothes: it's not too big of a deal except sometimes it causes problems with crawling.
And now he's been up for an hour screaming on and off, regardless of who's holding, diaper change, formula, snack, lights on or off, TV on, etc. I finally caved and gave some motrin in case it's a tooth or maybe his butt hurts that bad. He's at least now chill. Not sleeping, but not screaming. I'll take it.

No free childcare is a bummer! It's a huge perk. The woman who gave me a tour said "and this is the cafe where people read and relax sometimes while their kids are in childcare.. we don't judge..." She was speaking my language, haha. We did get a family membership so they can do classes. And so I can attempt to work out. Fingers crossed...
