Sending love becole, it wasn't easy to go back at 8 months - 13 weeks breaks my heart for all of you Americans. Fingers crossed the bottle situation sorts itself out quickly.
Do you have the ability to go home on lunch? I did that the first few months. O was much too attached to the boob.
13 weeks is actually great in these neck of the woods. I went back at 6weeks after DD1 was born.

Movies: Die Hard 1-3, Point break, 10 things I hate about you, circle of friends, now and then, bring it on. Basically I'm stuck in my teenage years.
Had a low key weekend, took the kids to MIl's and mostly played around the house. I made burgers, DH grilled salmon and ranchero chicken tenders which were delicious. We were reminiscing a about 2 winters ago when there was so much snow you couldn't even tell where the grill and table/chairs were.
Regretting I didn't go to the Women's March. I wanted to go but it seemed complicated with the kids, but now I feel like I should have been there.

I wanted to go to our women's march too but with a toddler and almost 31 weeks pregnant I just couldn't do it.
My friend in Buffalo went to her local womens march and is due to have a c-section on Thursday! I am so amazingly impressed she made it. She said she did take a chair with her and sat on the side lines regularly.

I forgot about Now and Then! I watched that movie obsessively...."knock three times on the ceiling if you want me..." (it's going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day). I had it on VHS and never upgraded so I haven't watched it in years!

Several friends of mine trekked to Washington.
All of them took their elderly mothers.
I wish I would have trekked to a Canadian city where a march was happening.

yup, I think it's somewhere at my mom's house on VHS. Also, i never owned Circle of Friends, but that was my go to rental when I couldn't find anything good to rent. I must have rented it so many times I could have bought several copies instead!

Such a good choice. That movie, even though he failed her, fueled my love of Chris O'Donnell.
Also, I think Alan Cumming is a amazing actor and an amazing man. He's overcome so much. But holy hell, I can't help but watch the Good Wife and imagine him as slimy Sean Walsh.
The weather was bad all weekend so the highlight of Saturday was my new clothes dryer was delivered. Sunday we went grocery shopping before the rain started again and spent the rest of the day watching football.

On Saturday I worked on painting our kitchen and starting the backsplash. Thanks to the help of M14 our kitchen is starting to look amazing. On Sunday we had people over to watch the Packer game and relaxed a bit. It was a good weekend.
becole I just saw that Nuk has a bottle nipple that has 9 holes for the fast flow and 6 holes for the medium flow. Maybe trying one of those nipples is an option?
Movie: Les Miserables (the Hugh Jackman/Russell Crowe one. Love love love it and cry everytime. Actually so does DH and he isn't even ashamed.
bliz1712 I'm going to let DD get her brows waxed when she starts high school (so 12).
She has a monobrow already and very hairy legs so I will let her get that waxed too.
I remember my mum offering zero advice/support for things like that when I was younger. I had so many catastrophes that I don't want DD to go through the same.
I didn't know to shave using a gel or water so used a dry razor and ripped my legs to shreds. I did this for months when I was probably 13 until a girl in gym told me about it needing to be wet.
I then tried using cream hair removal for my lip - I left it on for about 20 mins as really wanted rid of the hair and burned my upper lip so bad it was pussy and weeping.....My mum and sister thought it hilarious and my mum forced me to go to school like that. Horrific.
My self esteem was trashed by my mums behaviour and my sisters nasty comments (they are both fairer and have less coarse hair than me....remember I mentioned a while back my sister used to tell me I was adopted because I was so different and believed her ha ha).
So for me I've put a lot of thought into DD and the waxing question!! She can have whatever the hell she likes and I'll support her 😀
That's the typical response I hear is that I'm "lucky" I got 13 weeks. It's not good enough. We can do better.
I know the feeling. I too agree it's not good enough. I think people who say lucky are the ones who only get 6 weeks. I only got 6 with DD and was so envious of those with 12+. Regardless, I don't think it's enough. Our babies are so dependent on us still. It's not fair that we have to worry about feeding them with a bottle when they still haven't fully caught on to nursing.
I agree it's not fair and I'm sorry that you are going through it right now. I sincerely hope that the future for women is better. So as long as we keep fighting maybe our daughters or future daughter in laws will have better maternity rights that entitles them to the time off they deserve

13 weeks is not enough! I have 2 weeks left and that will have been a total of 23 weeks and I'm freaking out about going back. I'm still so sleep deprived and he seems so tiny still. And that's 2 weeks longer than I took with DS1! It's ridiculous how little this country affords to new moms/families!

My favorite movie to watch repetitively is The Bourne Identity. I also used to watch Bridget Jones Diary, The Whole Nine Yards, & Sex and the city. My weekend was rainy...
Paid 12 weeks leave for all working women would be a start. Unpaid protection for a year would be even better.
I'd like to see more parental leave for men too both for parenting/family reasons and so that parental leave isn't an anticipated cost only when choosing to hire a woman.

Movies are long ... I could rewatch many chick flicks and fun action movies like the Bourne series and oceans 11 12 13. But haven't in ages. Have researched quite a bit of Grey's and even law and orders - there are do many I rarely remember all the details.
Apparently I can watch many peppa pig and Elmo's world epidodes over and over too.
Weekend: dd is finally all better but now I'm sick.

I'm sorry you are sick! I liked the part about watching repeated episodes of peppa. I'm good at that too!
