That sounds so miserable for C danib, I hope they can figure something out for him soon. FX H is ready for good to be out of the swaddle! That would be so fantastic!
Go J waitwhat!!!! FX soon that 3:30 wake up goes away.

Good morning all! danib - hooray for good sleep! Maybe unswaddling is the golden ticket for H. waitwhat - I'm the same way. If my DH is in bed I'm way too nervous to cosleep (he is a super heavy sleeper and I don't trust him to not roll over on DS2). He usually sleeps downstairs after the middle of the night feed so we often cosleep after that.
AFM - no big plans today. We are in the busiest part of my DHs coaching season (matches 2-3 nights a week and practices daily) so literally just trying to survive the next 3 weeks or so. It's like this every year but man with two kids it is much harder. Also I haven't been to a single match this year to support him/his team which I'm feeling bad about. But they usually start too late (730 pm) and it's just not worth the uber crabby toddler the next day!
waitwhat D comes into bed with me every night now after her latest wakeup (closest to sunrise I should say) because it's the only way she falls back to sleep properly. We both love it. But DH has been exiled into the guest room until such time as she doesn't need it anymore because I would never feel safe having her in the bed with him in it. shedreamsincolor I hope these next few weeks go quickly and smoothly for you!

Poop day here. It's rainy and gusting out. Already have two trees down and I'm getting nervous for the pool cover. The pavers that the hooks are drilled into are starting to loosen and I'm scared wind will get up under the cover and rip the blocks out of the ground. The whole back of my house is made of windows. 😳😳
I took last week off. I was looking through pictures in my phone from when M was born and was just overwhelmed with how quickly she's growing and changing. It's amazing how quickly I was able to forget about the difficulties that each week brought. I just wanted to be a bit more present.
And my sisters getting engaged!!! She and her boyfriend came for a surprise visit last Tuesday and when she went to the bathroom her BF asked H and I for our permission. I'm so happy and excited for her.

That cuddle time around sunrise is the best. I don't know why it's so special to me. I love how she knows to cling to me even when sleeping.

Yes!! It's like we both just know the perfect position to be in. And she sleeps sooo long and well this way because she doesn't have to wake up fully when she's ready to eat.

Thank you for the update @sarahwithanh! Love that he was showing off to his nurses. Hope this time goes so quickly. I so want you to be able to go home with your little family after this surgery and just be able to enjoy your little boy. No shitty reflux, no scary breathing issues, tolerable feeding schedules. It's time.

Anyone interested in a parenting AL/AIF thread? Just to check in and get out any feels? There were some other things that kept me out of here last week, but I wasn't sure if others were still going through weird emotions even though our babies are here.

danib Hope C's appointment goes well. Have you and your H had a date night in a while? Sounds like you guys could use some alone time.
I'm thinking we need to start transitioning out of the swaddle. There's been a couple times now that he's gotten the blanket up over his face while trying to get his arms out. I have some of those armless sacks that I haven't tried yet so maybe I'll use that.
Sending more positive vibes to you @sarahwithanh! Hopefully it goes by quickly and everything goes perfectly. Poor little guy deserves some relief!
AFM, nothing going on over here. I'm coming down with a cold again so I think I deserve to have a lazy day to rest. I probably should do some baby laundry though. H never takes my colds seriously because I fight them off so quickly but this one feels worse than last time. Hopefully C doesn't get it.
I also need to make a crock pot chili sometime soon but I have a cute baby staring at me from his swing. That nap only lasted 20 minutes.
Sitting at the dermatologist, wonder if I can get him to prescribe me a z-pack in addition to my psoriasis meds. Only half-kidding.
DH and I are still sick, although I'm ok to be out and about I guess. He went into work bc he'd basically need an act of Congress to take a sick day, but he did make an appt at the base clinic for later this morning. I think if I could have taken a couple days to just completely rest and recuperate I could've gotten over this sooner, but as we all know, no days off for moms.
I'm a terrible sick person...I so rarely get sick that I find myself really angry when I do come down with something.
Ugh. Ok rant over, haha. Can you tell I just want to get better?! At least the kids seem ok and are sleeping well.

Hi hi. Doing all the laundry today..And N is still snoozing in her carseat from dropoff this morning. We tried not elevating her dockatot last night and that was a fail, she grunted consistently after her first feed and was wide awake, so I guess she has some relfux still. Oh well, we can try again in a few weeks.
Yesterday we had 2 bday parties and at the second N nursed and then spit up all over me twice... Thankfully I had a spare shirt in the car because my shoulder and arm were basically drenched. And I didn't have a real burp cloth with us, amateur hour!
Surgery is done. Monty is in recovery and we are waiting to see him. The surgeon was happy with his anatomy and really thinks this will help. Time will tell, but we are very optimistic.
He did not get his button The surgeon believes that if it's better for healing to leave the original long tube. So we will wait a month and then do it in office.
Sarah- I'm glad the surgery went well. I'm sorry to hear he didn't get the button. I hope the office procedure next month is quick and easy.
I think GUC is technically gently used condition, but same thing as good used. And I've never seen poos, usually i would see XP for cross posted ( like on multiple sights). And WTAF to gods unwanted children?!
@sarahwithanh so happy to hear things went well today with M!!

Remember yesterday when I mentioned that DS1 never went through any sleep regressions and was this amazing snowflake of a baby? Well...
FFMC: Back when DS1 was a baby I thought people were exaggerating when they said they were always covered in spit up or had to change their baby's clothes and their own several times a day. DS1 spit up maybe twice that I can remember. I don't know why, but he pretty much never spit up.
I realized today as I wiped spit up from my cleavage for the 3rd time in just as many hours, thatb DS2 is cosmic karma for the super special snowflake that is my first born.
I think I need to sign up for all of the wine delivery clubs, just to make sure I'm prepared.
Hmm maybe. They need a legend for these acronyms. What the heck is GUC??
Well, spoiler, I googled. Lol And a quick seach tells me that GUC could be 2 things: 'good used condition' or 'God's unwanted children' <<----What.the.actual.fuck
Hello all, busy last few days! DH made it home Friday morning (1:30am), he drove my mom home on Saturday and now we're trying to get used to him being home! danib, does yh seem behind when he gets home? Like baby grew but he hasn't changed to catch up!
We're also running around this week getting ready for DH's family visit! I'm nervous, I don't know where they stand politically but Mainers (outside of Portland) tend to be republicans. DH thinks they are independents so here's hoping no political talk! I'm also nervous about sharing L with them.
danib, I'm working hard to not get mad at him! I'm sure the stress of his family coming to visit isn't helping and work just asked him to go back early!?! Which if we didn't need a new car, I'd tell him to stay but it will help with that!
