We celebrated M's 1st birthday and my 32nd birthday on Saturday. My parents, sister, and brother in law were visiting which was nice! We started the day by joining a local kid friendly women's march. We were hesitant about going but are all really glad we did. The support was so touching. My aunt and cousin went to DC (for the first time) to march. I'm so proud of them! They stepped out of their comfort zones. I asked my aunt to describe the experience in 4 words and she said- inspiring, empowering, hopeful, and amazing.
We finished off the day with presents, dinner, cake (M didn't want any), and an after dinner drink with CET, my sister, and brother in law once M went to bed (my parents stayed home and listened for her).
M had her 12 month appointment this morning. She's 20lbs (55-60%) and 30" (75%). Her eating is hot and cold which I guess is common for this age. As well as her opinions and floppy noodling when she doesn't like something. The doctor said this continues for the next few months. Oh goodness though. At times, I think it will be a challenge.
Currently sitting in the car while M naps after the doctor.
Something strange just happened, an older Toyota hylander just parked in front of us, a man got out and dropped an Amazon package off at our house. No postal markings on the car and the man seemed to be wearing normal clothes.
Once M is up a friend and her son are going to come over to play. It's another rainy day and I think they're getting stir crazy.
Random now I'm not enjoying decaf lattes. I used to always get nonfat with a pump of syrup. Not sure which is better.

Our weekend was pretty good. We've been cranking through our baby to-do list every weekend which makes them not relaxing enough and feel very short.
We went to the women's march in Boston on Saturday which was amazing until I couldn't really stand/walk anymore and needed to eat. Then we had to bail. I literally felt like I'd climbed a mountain by the time we got home. The rally, speeches, and seeing all the cool signs was amazing and everyone we met was so so nice! I know we have a lot of hard work to do before the next mid-term election so I'm hoping I can reinvigorate the political side of me that I haven't felt for at least 10 years.
Sunday we went to Pottery Barn Kids thinking we were going to select our furniture set but were shocked by the quality of the pieces compared to BRU. Like the dresser drawer tracks at PBK were way worse!!! And when you add that to their prices we were very disappointed. So now we're kind of back to square 1 for furniture as we haven't found anything where we're like, yes, this is it!

I really hope all of the marches translate into action.
I can't believe M. is a year old cetcar! Congrats little one. Also, I think that Amazon has everyone and their brother delivering for them these days.
I've been super busy these days. Touring daycare centres and fretting, as well as setting up my private practice, which is daunting. I'll be returning to the agency I work for part-time and will supplement with private practice. I may become bust quite soon though as office space is becoming available so I'm likely going to pounce on that and begin working evenings and weekends (when H. is home with Is.) It's exciting but also time consuming as there are a lot of moving parts with office searches, building website, business cards; setting up phone/computer, tax and accounting, and then of course getting the word out to build a client base. Whew.
