I'm planning to use this bag as my diaper bag, with an organizer insert from Amazon. I love that it expands, and I think it will be large enough for plenty of cloth diapers.
I also kind of want a fancy one. I saw this beautiful leather bag come up in my Suggested Posts on Facebook, but now I can't remember the brand to save my life. It was big, and expensive. And maybe started with a J?

I need help from all the STM's+ on a stroller and car seat. I'm so overwhelmed by all of the choices.
I have been looking at the Graco 4 Ever car seat, but I don't know if I like the idea that it isn't meant to come out of the car and attach to a stroller. We plan to baby wear frequently, so maybe that won't be a problem? Thoughts?? I hate carrying heavy things, so I can't imagine myself wanting to carry an infant seat around much anyway.
IF we go with the Graco car seat, then what stroller to choose??
Things I'm looking for in a stroller: - a jogger, because I have this wonderful idea in my head that I'll get back to running one day - not super heavy or bulky because I'm a tiny human and not very great at carrying heavy things - storage for diaper bag, water bottle, cell phone, etc., if we're out and about
I don't even know what other things to look for. What's important to you when choosing a stroller?
TIA for anyone who wants to help make my life choices!

Ju ju be?
I don't think that was it. It has popped up on my Facebook like 4 times, so I'm just trying to be patient and wait for it to show up again so I can write down the name. #impatient
I know people with that Stella and dot bag and they love it. They don't use it as a diaper bag but I could see it working as one.
This is a brand new design that just came out to customers a few weeks ago, called the Daytripper. It's a little bit smaller than the Getaway bag, which might be the one you're thinking of (unless you have some die-hard Stella friends who bought it as soon as it came out!!). My Getaways are too big for for daily use, IMO, but I think this smaller sister bag will be perfect!

I have a Graco travel system that I like. The stroller is relatively light weight, the handle isn't too short for H and it handles well on the sidewalk. Mine isn't a jogging stroller and isn't meant for rougher terrain but it suits our needs. These may not suit yours though.
I like having an bucket seat for the first 6 months, then we switched DS to a convertable car seat.
We don't have as much selection in Canada so although the Graco extend to fit sounded interesting I went with a Diono r120 - I also wanted a narrower car seat that I could potentially fit 3 across if I ever had to.
Also hopefully your baby likes to be worn but it's not a guarantee so I'd wait on buying all the carriers until after O is born - like get one or two but not 5 or 6 until you know it'll work for you and O

Smart thinking. I'd be bummed if he hated all of them and then I couldn't return them because it was past the return date.
You'd generally need a car seat adaptor and infant seat, or a stroller that reclines to basically flat. You can't jog with them at first either way but you'd only need one stroller.
That being said I adore my umbrella stroller for going to the mall, but they have to be able to sit up more to use those.
I have a summer Infant umbrella stroller and a Graco full size stroller.

I actually don't know too many people that only had one stroller.
Joggers are big and heavy by design. 27 pounds plus. Some like the bumble ride Indy and mountain buggy urban jungle etc have a bassinet you can buy but it will cost the same as a Graco snugride.

Thank you for answering all my stupid questions!! I'm thinking I'd like to find one with a front wheel that can swivel and is a whole travel system (so we can put the car seat base in H's truck and possibly buy a 2nd base for my ILs).

I have an organic ergo carrier I'm looking to sell if anyone is interested. It Is in very good condition. Chocolate brown. Make me an offer, I very likely won't refuse.

Lily Jade? ETA: should have read the whole thread. I swoon every time I see an ad for them
I like having the bucket for when your out to eat or whatever, it's a place to park the kid. Plus not having to transfer a sleeping baby is a perk.
For me I wanted a stroller that had the option to parent face, big storage underneath, and an easy fold.
For a jogging stroller you will need a bucket seat for at least the first 6 months and you can't jog with it until the baby is older. They typically are heavier/bigger but ride very smooth.
For those interested in babywearing, definitely check if there is a Babywearing International chapter local to you. They have meet ups and you can try all the different types of carriers and learn to use them. I found it super helpful!!
Car seats: we had a Britax B-Safe for both girls. We used it with a City Select-just had to buy the adapter. We also used it with a BOB jogging stroller with adapter.
I just bought a new Chicco Keyfit 30 for this baby because I needed the ability to do three across a backseat in grandparents cars and it was the only one that would work with two convertibles in their specific car. I'm excited as I love our Chicco nextfit convertibles.
I also really love the Diono rxt convertible and allows extended rear facing beyond most other seats if that's important to you.
Both of my girls are still rearfacing at 19 months and almost 3.

I wish the Chicco Next fit fit Canadian standards but apparently it would require a redesign to come here and they are not going to. Although it is nice to just be able to cross entire seats/brands off your maybe list

Do you have to have a baby to practice on?? Or do prego mommas go too?

I waited until baby was born but I often saw preggos at meetings, so wouldn't hesitate to go now if you want. Pretty sure they have a weighted doll that people would practice with.

I went to a registry event at a boutique baby store today and only one other woman came with her mom so now I have 1/3 chance of winning a diaper bag full of baby stuff.
I agree get a car seat you can take out and click into stroller. Don't want to wake them up and they fall asleep so early when little. We had the uppababy vista basically for everything and then 6 months later we bought a bob jogging stroller. You could totally wait on the jogging stroller IMO.
I actually have two of this bags. A brandy Madeline and a black canvas Meggan. The are both amazing, stylish and functional. There is also a BST on FB that you can drool over action shots of bags and even buy used ones.

They are fantastic bags.
Whats the name of the FB group??
Lily Jade BST and chat. The owners of the company are active on the board and at times offer sneak peaks to sales and other previews on there, and the moms are really nice.

At this point I have 3...
the graco snap n go (which I always kept in the car bc it's just a frame, super tiny lightweight and easy to open close and just snap infant car seat into.
The city mini GT single which I'd use for my older child (she was 18m when DS was born) and then I'd just wear DS in a ring sling or Tula for walks, trips to the park etc... when we go shopping I just put her in the shopping cart and wear DS.
The city mini GT double (side by side). I used this once DS got a little older for trips to the farmers market, beach, or all day outings where I would want to be able to put the both of them down at some point.
With new baby on the way in July I'm thinking I'll get the standing board for the single stroller for my oldest who will be 3 when baby comes, put the 18m old in the single and wear new baby, or wear DS put baby in Snap n go and let DD walk for a quick run into a party or a friends house or the little gym etc... put he both of them in the shopping cart and wear the new baby or use the double and wear New baby.
Either way I think I'll get use out of all three again and will only need to buy a little attachment for the single.
I see no use in an umbrella stroller for me bc the city mini is super lightweight and does everything I need it to do. The o my complaint is that it doesn't have a ton of under carriage storage but I have stroller clips for my big bag or wear it on my back and there is plenty of room for a smaller to go bag of essentials.
With my son I had six strollers at different points:
First an evenflo travel system which I hated because it was big and cheap and broke and had my hated strap recline. Back then Babies r us only had three brands and all the strollers were the same.
When he was 6 months old I paid 60 bucks for a valet stroller which is a smaller version of these travel system ones. I actually liked this cheapy but inevitably it broke too...
I also bought a low end jogging stroller used but ended up selling in less than a year. It was HEAVY and actually terrible for jogging and always pulled to the one side so I had to keep correcting.
Then I did a ton of research and when my son was just over a year I found a crazy deal on Peg Perego Pliko P3 which they don't sell in North America anymore but damn it was a great stroller. It was amazing for me because when my son was 2 I got divorced and didn't have a car anymore so I had to bus everywhere. My son also loved it lol and was mad when I gave it to a friend when he was four or five even though we didn't use it anymore.
The other stroller I got when I thought I was going to have a second child with my ex. We got a double bike trailer/jogger which was amazing but massive obviously but my son loved it and I felt he was safe when I rode my bike with him. Just wish I had only got the single haha. I did also jog with it and it was much superior to the other one I had bought and sold.
My sixth stroller was one of those 25 dollar umbrella strollers. I do not remember when or why I got it but it was a surprisingly useful thing especially for me as a pedestrian my only complaint is that it had very low handles so it wasn't good to push for a long time as a tall person.
This time I want to just have the two Uppababy and the umbrella.
I do love be jogging but I think I prefer to jog alone and would rather leave baby with dad and go out than push a stroller. I really need my arms to be free.

Does anyone have experience with the tula ring slings? I really want a ring sling for DD and I want one with a large size option because I am a thicker lady. I had a mei tai when DS was a newborn and I liked it but when he was going through his purple period of crying sometimes I would put him in and shortly after have to take him out so I want a cozy carrier that is really quick to pop baby in and out of.
