DD1 was a total butthead this morning. I hate arguing with her before school, I feel like I just end up upset all day. My anxiety kicks in and I think "what if something happened to her today and she died thinking I'm mad at her?" It's completely irrational, but I just have a yucky feeling in the pit of my stomach until she's home.

I'm so sorry. That's awful but I totally get it. Sometimes I get super frustrated at night and say things I regret. And even though she's a newborn, I still feel awful! Hopefully when she gets home it will all be fine. 😊
crimpgirl Love the idea of matching tops! And there are several outfits I would buy in larger sizes if I could find them! My girl has taken a bottle twice and I know it's important, but it makes me SO sad. My husband doesn't get it.
Dd finally slept in a 2 hour and 3 hour chunk last night. Hoping the every 90 minutes bit is done.
My work sent out an email this morning about how everyone has to do a run, hide, defend drill again. I'm so glad I'm not there to do it, but kind of bummed to miss the inevitable drama that will ensue since we did the drill already this year and it's a huge pain.
Hey everyone! Feeling super nauseous today for some reason... currently in the bathroom with my puke bucket, just in case. I have a counseling appointment in a couple of hours and I don't want to cancel, not sure what to do!
Baby girl slept amazing two nights in a row, but last night was back to her two wake ups... seriously hoping it wasn't a fluke and we're on our way to one feeding per night.

Happy Wednesday!
I took LO to a Baby and Me group yesterday. I enjoyed it and plan to go back but LO seemed so overwhelmed by it. She's almost seven weeks. It was so fun in the beginning to see her look and smile at the other babies and she got so excited when the baby next to us touched her hand. But then she seemed to just be overwhelmed and cry. I nursed her which helped but as soon as another baby started crying she'd stop nursing and cry too. I'm wondering if this stuff is good for her to get used to or if I'm trying to make her do too much too soon. We just started taking her out in the stroller. Before it was almost always in a wrap so she never saw much, so I think the whole world out there may just be a lot right now.

lastnamewithheld - so we use the 4 oz bottles and if I fill it all the way then I'm leaving the vent system out while I shake it. Once it's shaken, I open it back up and add the vent system. Screw the top on really tight. So far, it's been working! Stupid leaks are so annoying!!
Afm, vomit city. I don't feel sick other than being nauseous and I really hope I'm done now! Thankfully, dd has been napping for a couple hours now (which is totally unusual!).

she loves the whale on her playmat. We've really started doing awake time/tummy time in earnest this week. She favors turning her head one way so I moved the whale to try to motivate her to turn her head the other way.

We have the same playmat and Hazel loves the animals too! I love this age when they are starting to notice and interact with their surroundings.

lastnamewithheld,I use Dr Browns and haven't had any trouble except for when LO is lazy and wants the boob. You'd think the bottle would be easier, but she prefers the boob sometimes. I'm trying to feed her all day with the bottle now and just the boob at night so we're ready for daycare next week. Who knows if it works or not.
I'm back at work now. My friend is nannying for me and I'm finding it hard not to just go in the next room and take care of her myself. I do not want to be a hover mom. And I'm trying to pump when she eats so I make note of the schedule. I'm a first time mom and proud! LOL
I'm calmer today than I thought I'd be, and things are going great.....because I have nothing to do for work yet. I'll have a meeting with my manager from 4-5. But we're getting into a routine and I love routine.
Jane is so much better now that we're home. I've been hearing over and over how your scent is important and if they won't sleep on their own put a shirt you wore with them or something so I think I might try that tonight. Our dog is not home with the cone of shame so last night I got him out of the kennel at 3 am when Jane was finished eating and he came in and slept with us. He wants to play so bad, but he's got to take it easy. Luckily, he can't get the cone through the doggy door easily so I can watch him easier.

@cahistoryteacher, DS has that sleeper in NB size!! So cute!
It was one of the few things dh picked out when we were pregnant. She wears it all the time, plus the snaps are just right that we can leave the crotch undone(to check her diaper) but still keep her feet in the pjs.
babycowbell, where was the baby & me class? I'd love to do something like that.
It was at the women's center at the hospital, the same place that had the childbirth classes. There's also one at the library that I planned to try today but I think I'll save for next week. Many of the other moms at the group really liked a class called Music Together which looks like it might be in many cities. I can't imagine what a baby does in music class but I've had so many people recommend it, in multiple cities, so it must be good. Also just found a baby and me yoga class, but I think I'll wait another month or so on that one.
It was really good to go and hear what other people are going through and to have a way to meet other moms since I don't know many near me. I think it will be a positive experience in the end to have a place to go where it's okay if she's fussy and comfortable to nurse her, and learn about other cool baby activities I never would have found on my own, like music class.

Long day today. It might be a pizza night. Leo starts at the new DC next week so I'm trying to get as much quality time with him. We ran errands in the morning, took him out to lunch and then had Alex's 2 mo appt. Dr agrees I should try to stretch out Alex's feeding time. Gave some suggestions. Apparently he's growing faster from the sides than length wise. With Leo at DC I hope we can make some strides before I return to work. Here's my chunky monkey.
