So I'm back at work. Only half days, but it's a start. I don't think I'll be going back full time until after M and any subsequent littles are in school. This week was just paperwork for the surgery center, but next week our clinic nurse is on vacation so I'll be doing patient care. We're hoping a combo of the Tula, bounceRoo, and the one employee who seems to have 'the touch' will be enough to keep Mia content.

Would anyone take a six month old to Key West? We have a wedding coming up in May and are sure what to do. Last month it was a hard no, but each week seems to be better.

I might but only because I loved Key West and want to go back. Are you flying or driving the keys?

I probably would. We took DS to a wedding in North Carolina when he was 7 months old and it was pretty fun and uneventful.

+whatever to fighting sleep; I figured it out about a month ago that he won't just fall asleep on his own. I have to do the whole swaddling, rocking, paci routine for naps and night time sleep. Sometimes I just don't want to do it, ya know? It's always a battle and it's exhausting. If I let him nap on me or unswaddled it only lasts 30 mins though.
sophiegrace I was thinking about going to key west in July! (8mo old) H family goes every year. We only go every 3 and it's our year to go. I'm just worried about the heat. It's always hot as hell there in July and I don't think that's good for a baby.
sophiegrace I would definitely travel to key west with a 6 mo old. The good thing about being 6 mo is that they can now use sunscreen. I flew 3 times before O was 6 mo and it was quite easy. If M can take a stroller nap, you'll be golden. If not, like O, we were challenged with getting 2 naps a day in while trying to do stuff. But def worth it IMO.
He was a older but we took O to a destination wedding in DR when he was 15 mo and it just meant a little more quiet time/breaks for me and O in the room. It was H's friend so I didn't feel like I was missing out too much during daytime naps or early nights. We had contemplated paying for my mom to come with us and would have if it hadn't been during the school year. But it worked out anyway.

Sure, as long as you aren't hoping to be partying on Duval St. every night
We started flying with DS when he was 3 weeks old. He'd been to two weddings (also involving plane flights) by 6 mo. Honestly, I think they're easiest to travel with the younger they are.

Yup I would! I traveled quite a bit with DD as an infant and frankly it has been easier than as a toddler in many ways. I was glad my first trip (flying just me and DD at 3 months) was to my parents house so I could still be a little scattered, but we did a trip to Atlanta at 5 months and stayed in a hotel just as a family of 3.
+whatever YES go to Key West with a 6 month old. Esp if you can get a direct flight. When we went we flew out of DC (to avoid NY storm cancellations/delays) to Miami and drove down (obv without a child and on purpose to do the Keys drive) but I believe our friends went NY to SC and SC to KW. I love KW because it can be as casual as you want and I don't think people would bat an eyelash at kids in many of the restaurants. The butterfly garden would be fun witth her. sophiegrace

Ok I'm now tentatively excited. We have a small airport that flies into Philadelphia and Charlotte and the Charlotte airport offers a non stop into Key West. Off to convince H....
