Yes! We have the fisher price rainforest one that has lights and the penis giraffe. When DS1 was around 2 weeks old, we couldn't figure out why he was crying. DH had the bright idea of laying him on the mat to look at the lights. Sure enough, DS1 was bored because he silenced almost immediately 😅 I found it useful to lay him in it 10-15 minutes here and there just so I could do something and he'd watch the lights
When he got a bit bigger, we got a kick n play piano he loved to stomp on and kick
LOL - has no one else caught the hilarious autocorrect in this post?

Dying over here right now.
I thought she was really just referring to it as a penis giraffe....?

I've been using a mirror for over two years with DS and never even heard of it being a hazard until this thread. That doesn't mean it isn't a hazard, but I'm a little surprised considering how many times I've seen the "not in the shopping cart seat, no puffy coats, correct chest belt, no slumping" posts on social media.
Ours attaches in two directions, I don't see how it could detach. I have all kinds of other potential projectiles though that I'm worrying about, like DS sand pail and the diaper bag

Ughhhh I just realized if we really do go camping with the baby we don't have a portable crib for her. So maybe I should put the pack n play back on my list?

Look at the size and see if it will work in your tent/camper - they're smaller but not that small.
Also they go on sale fairly frequently so if it's a we MIGHT go camping do you want to store it just for a maybe?

We have a 32 foot travel trailer so I know space isn't an issue. I just don't think I'll want to take our newborn glamping this year. I mean H really wants to go but she won't really be able to leave the camper much.

@osw I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious. But it's the second time seeing the comment. Why can't you take M outside if you go camping? Not computing in my brain lol

I'm worried about bugs in the woods and sun lol.
Yeah, I don't think it would be fun until they're at least 6 months, that way sunscreen is ok and they can sit/sit assisted and be more interested in what's going on.

That's my thought process. Plus my house furniture is way more comfortable than a camping chair.
