I have my 16w appointment with my OB on Thursday afternoon, and my first weekly ass shot on Thursday morning. I can't believe I made it this far!
What's the "ass shot" for? Good luck with your appointment!
It's weekly progesterone shots to try and keep this LOL cooking longer than DS. He was born at 34w and there was no reason why, so I'll get the shots and cervical checks every other week.

That makes sense. Keep cooking baby!!! I'm sure that's lovely for you but do you get to hear baby on the Doppler at least?

I'm not sure if I'll hear the baby on the Doppler with the nurse, I'll have to ask on Thursday.
I wasn't supposed to, but I am going in this afternoon. I think I have a mild yeast infection and the I'm having cramping in the right side of my abdomen. I'm sure it's just round ligament pain, but they're going to do an ultrasound to be sure. I'll take it!
I have an appt Tuesday at 1:15. H is going to try to come since he hasn't been to one for this baby. I always get so anxious when an appointment is approaching. Hoping the Doppler works this time, though my Dr. is quick to pull out the US wand. I'll be happy with either.

My appointment went well. HB was in the 140 range and she measured my uterus (?) and it was 16 cm so she said that was good too. I haven't gained any weight at all but she said I shouldn't worry, that it was fairly normal not to have gained yet. Makes me worry I'm not eating enough though. Next appt will be the anatomy scan!!
I had my 16 week today...a few days early because my OB has now adopted some BS called Pathways and I have to attend 3 group appointments each with a different topic. Today was Pelvic Floor. They pretty much suck and today's took a little over an hour. But on a good note I got to hear my little guy's heartbeat for the first time. It was worth the group appointment for that.
Everything went well at my appointment. Baby looks good. It was flipping all around. Baby started out facing us, flipped face down, faced away from us, and flipped back down. It's so amazing! And I could see the spine and ribs. Crazy!!! Heartbeat was 148, but she had a hard time getting it because baby wouldn't stop moving.
They don't know what's going on with my side. She pushed to make sure I could feel the round ligament and that definitely wasn't it. She said the only other thing on that side would be my appendix. I don't think that's what it is, so we're thinking my body is just being quirky. Now to wait until gender scan next Monday!!

The practice I go to has something similar, but it's called Contouring. However, it only applies to women that got pregnant between certain dates, so I don't have to deal with it.

You my dear are lucky! If I didn't love my OB I'd go elsewhere.
Appointment was good. W was unimpressed with the heartbeat, but she blew a kiss to my Dr when he left.
AS is scheduled for the end of Feb. I was scheduled to see the Dr that told me to lose weight last pregnancy, so I just said "No, I'll need a different day. I don't want to see him." Old me would have just taken it, so I'm proud that I stood up for myself.
I totally forgot, I did have my 16w appt last week. Everything looked good and I heard the heartbeat at 152 ❤
I am however going to request not to see that particular dr again. She was very dismissive of my *important to me* question and never answered it despite my continued prodding.
Background: I had a substantial pilonidal cystectomy a few years ago that utilized a flap surgery to fix it (don't google that). I had been experiencing pain and twinges in the incision area that were making me afraid that the cyst could be coming back and if it is reinfecting, I'll need to go on abx. My first pregnancy began 4 months after the surgery and I was still experiencing normal nerve ending twinges at that point. My question was, specifically, could my hips and things moving around cause pain in the incision area after more than a year of nothing. She said "my observation is that everyone I see says that their second pregnancy is the worst and they all complain about more aches and pains than any other pregnancy." I further clarified, "no this is pain in a specific problem area of my body. Could moving pelvic parts cause pain in an old incision in my ass crack or do I need to speak with my pcp about my cyst potentially coming back?" The second answer was "everyone has more aches and pains in their second pregnancy" in a dismissive tone and an actual hand wave. I was done with her after that non-answer and called my pcp. If you don't know, then say so. Don't dismiss me because you think I'm whining. (Directed at her, not you)
Omg what the eff? I agree with you that is a legit question and if they couldn't help a you will have to see your PCP would have sufficed.

My OB appointment was uneventful today. Got to see a brief glimpse of the little gals on US since that is how he checks for the heartbeats.
Had my early GTT this morning, got the fruit punch flavor and didn't have to fast for the one hour test. Keeping everything crossed that I passed and don't have to do the 3 hour. If I passed the 1 hour, they will re-test again at 28 weeks.
The nonanswer and my pregnancy rage were a dangerous combination, I was very close to snapping lol.
1. she was wrong to be so dismissive. Maybe talking to your PCP is better anyway since they probably have actual knowledge of the issue first hand. 2. I hate it when Drs are dismissive of aches and pains. Maybe this is nothing but at least act like you are considering the question!
This is why people use Dr. google! They don't want to be made to feel like an idiot from a doctor rolling their eyes at their concerns. I could give you better answer than that!

I had another appointment with MFM today. Cervix is nice and long and closed. I have a marginal placenta previa which they expect will clear up so I'll get more ultrasounds to monitor.
My PT went alright today. She kept saying that because I'm pregnant there isn't much she can do, so I need to go get a maternity support band and see if that helps. Boo.
