Well I met with the benefits person at work to setup my leave and I don't know why I am surprised but I was to blow all my sick time before my leave can officially start. Perfect. So I don't have any when the kids go back to daycare in the fall.

This is what I had to do, but I earned time off while I was on maternity leave so I had a few days when I went back to work.

I guess it's pretty standard but I think it's stupid. I also don't earn any time while out.
Yeah I think that's pretty standard. I had to use all of mine down to 40 hours. If you don't use it as days off or sick pay before birth then they pay it out first before benefits kick in. I didn't earn any while on leave. So going back to work I still only had 40 hours.

Our contract gives us 2 days when we come back (16 hours). With my flu I'm down to like 10 paid days total for paid leave by using all my sick days! Any time DH takes will be unpaid.

Dh got an indoor smokeless grill thing for Christmas and we used it tonight for dinner. It cooked our food fine, but when I was hand washing it in the sink with dawn and a sponge, the black non stock coating started coming off. Hopefully Amazon will be awesome about it since it was a gift from his sister.

Our sitter for tomorrow night is sick with a bad cold and cancelled because she doesn't want to get the girls sick. I'm actually secretly happy it, because going out tomorrow night would have meant missing out on TGIT.
DD1 woke up at 1:15 crying and asking to wake up....uhhhh no. GTFO with that nonsense. DD2 has been waking up around 2/2:30 to eat so I just woke her up to feed her now since I was already up. Hopefully I won't be up again in an hour or so. 🙏🏻
WTF! SD is in traveling Bball so we have tournaments almost every weekend from middle of January until end of February. It's traveling so we have to travel anywhere from 1/2 hour to almost 2. Every year the Superbowl is on the 1st Sunday of February. This is not new. SO guess what?!? We have a tournament on Sunday and the last game could potentially not start until 6 pm and it's a half hour away. REALLY?!?! I'm a little peeved. The last games aren't determined until the first handful of games are played so we won't know what time exactly our last game will be.
Why is it that the flowers I want to plant, magically don't have seeds? No way of getting cuttings and can't afford to buy mature plants, as I need A LOT of them.
O put her head in my lap this morning, looked up at me and said, "I want a baby sister Mommy."
A) I have no freaking idea where she put that together. Most of our friends kids are older than her. If there's a baby in the picture it's a little boy. Not many baby sisters around.
B) I was not not emotionally prepared for that this morning.

I'm sorry her innocent comment threw you off. 😕 Hugs!

Awww - kids say so many things. They don't know how they make us feel. I was told this morning "hi little mama." What?? Where did he get that phrase from.

DD has been having melt downs as school lately. A lot of her friends in class are having baby siblings and she's been watching Doc who got a baby sister. She gets excited and tells people at school that she's going to have a baby sister and there's a baby in my belly but they know there isn't so they nicely say no to her and then she cries and gets upset. This happened at drop off this morning when another one of her classmates announced she was going to be a big sister. She said me too! And I told her it will be when she's 4 and she broke down crying. Breaks my heart but I need another couple years before that happens

Aww, sweet girl ❤. The older she gets the more she'll remember her baby brother or sister and the more self sufficient she'll be. I think that's a major plus to waiting. James will not remember this time at all. He will never know life without a sibling. And we are dealing with alllll the emotions and potty training, etc. with an infant too. My point, there is never a perfect time for anything. Whatever ends up happening will be perfect for your little family 😊
kittyriot , we dealt with this recently and it was so hard watching her heartbroken face crying for a baby brother when we had to tell her no. A few of her classmates have new baby brothers so I know where it came from. We are firm in our one and done, but it was tough watching her react to it, I'm sure it's not going to be the last time either.
I guess having a self-centered boy is handy in these situations! DS's classmates are starting to get new siblings but he is clueless.
Speaking of my self-centered child, apparently DS has become the bad influence in his classroom. I was told that yesterday he was hitting, spitting and generally not listening and that even the kids who don't normally act out were starting to copy his behavior. I see this as the first of many similar discussions throughout DS's childhood...
Also PSA for Canadians emmagk and kittyriot If you have been wanting to buy the Pixi line of cosmetics and lotions then they are now selling at Shoppers Drug Mart only at the beauty boutique locations.
It started just at end of January and my flyer is giving me extra Optimum points until tomorrow. I really want that Pixi Glow tonic so running after work today.
