Dh called in sick to work for tonight. He and I are both sick with different bugs. This means when we get better we will get the other bug. And then the girls will get them.
Wait. I can take decongestants while nursing? Like sudafed (phenylephrine kind)?
Not recommended because it could decrease your supply.
Kellymom says "both pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine are generally considered to be safe for the breastfed baby, but pseudoephedrine may reduce milk supply." I have the phenylephrine kind.
Got a last minute babysitter. Going out with H's dept for bar golf. But it's actual golf? I'm not really sure. Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out soon.

Sorry you're so sick microworm. The Vicks soothing vapors plug in thingy (plugged in near my bed at night) has been really helping me the last couple weeks - it clears the congestion a lot while I sleep/counteracts the usual nighttime buildup that messes with sleep and causes the lively morning sore throat.
If your ds2 is still in your room maybe use the non-menthol one instead. It's helpful too (for me) though not quite as much as the regular menthol one.

Antibiotics dropped my supply but it came back after they were done. I would recommend a neti pot, humidifier, and Flonase. Nasal sprays have very little crossover into Bm but they will work like a decongestant and let your nose drain.

footloose, I don't have much to compare DS's behavior to except what I saw at soccer and what I hear from DC. He acts completely differently at home. He has his moments but generally is pretty good. We can take him to the store, restaurants, etc. and he's totally fine. It seems to be when he's in a big group of kids. I wonder if it's some sort of social anxiety or something...

Also colleagues at school are swearing that elderberry syrup (or gummies or tablets) makes cold go away way faster. I haven't yet read up on if it is ok while breastfeeding or pg though.

I have to start taking mefloquine (antimalarial for our trip to visit dh's family in India) tonight and am afraid. Have any of you ever taken it? It is less non-recommended during pregnancy than the other antimalarials are so I'm stuck with it.
I really wish all the info with it would say what (presumably large) percentage of people who take it do not report having any of the frightening list of potential side effects. May Google it but I'm afraid that will mostly turn up horror stories I do not want to read right now.
kittyriot I finally went to giant tiger and got some fleece leggings. They are just like the Rickies ones but $5 instead of $15! Haven't tried them on yet though
Is it OK to ignore valentine day at daycare? I have no idea who's in DS class to hand out cards
If you are expected to hand out cards, the teachers should provide a list of children's first names. Ours sends it out in an email.
But I usually send a little trinket and don't address the cards by name. Last year it was little valentine rubber duckies, and this year is crazy straws. I'll tie a note to each one with ribbon, but not write the kids name on them. The teachers are the ones that distribute them anyway.

Exactly the same....get an email with number to send and teachers write names. Even for the 6 month old
Ugh! At my friend's place and we are drinking and basically now in an uncomfortable argument. I want to go home so bad and can't because of so many drinks and my car being here.
DH and I went out to dinner together for our first date night in a looong time. It was really nice to be just the 2 of us even for a couple hours but DD1 is still friggin awake in her bed and it's almost 10pm. Go the fuck to sleep kid!! You're ruining date night!

I'm annoyed with DH. I went out and got really cute lamps that imo look perfect in our bedroom. Anyway he doesn't think so, but instead of giving valid reasons he is just being a ass. He could even say something like " I don't care for them but if you like them, ok" but no, he is just hating on them with no other suggestions. This is why my place is so undecorated! He refuses to do anything and when I chose stuff without him he side eyes it.

I can't remember the exact one DH took before going to India but it made him violently ill and the doctor told him it'd get better. After almost a week he finally just stopped taking it. I felt terrible for him. I hope you are good with the one you're taking. Where in India?

MH does this too. So frustrating. But on the flip side, I know I frustrate him when he just wants something simple and I want decor that is sort of tied together.

Then he just came into our bedroom and tried to initiate some sexy time, I was like nope buddy.

Yuck! I hope that doesn't happen! I've taken 2 other ones before and been fine on them, so FX this one will be ok too.
Mumbai
There shouldn't be mosquitos there at this time of year (there weren't when h was young) but due to climate change and spread of a Aegypti and other things like that there are now.
Ugh we had it super bowl weekend last year, and just had it earlier this week. Cleaning up toddler puke and nursing a baby while nauseous are high on my list of worst things. It was less than 24 hours this time for us. Hopefully it will go quickly for you too.
