Sorry but it's true. She's kinda like Britney for me. She's a good performer, but I don't find her to be all that talented, musically. I'd rather pay money to see someone play the piano or guitar and really sing their songs vs. see her shake her ass and lip sync.
Beyoncé the agent of social action > Beyoncé the singer/performer. Less music, more girl power.

Nope. We had like one spirit week where we would wear silly socks or school colors. It's too much now.
I don't get it either. We never had ANY dress up days in elementary school. Lately my news feed is full of kids dressed up as 100-year-olds.
We never dressed up, but had to make projects featuring 100 of whatever we liked. I think I was unoriginal and just stuck 100 fruit loops on poster board or something. I thought it was fun.
Did you do this when you were a kid? This was never a thing when I was growing up. I mean, I get it, but I don't understand why it's a thing either...

I'm usually anti any school dress up days because I think they're just another opportunity to put more pressure on parents to do EVEN MORE than they already do, BUT:
My friend's school did a "dress like a teacher" day and her whole class came in with top knots and a puffy vest (basically her thing) and I think that's super duper sweet.
I also don't get why people are losing their minds over B's twins. Was there a similar reaction to Mariah's twins? B's photo shoot was just plain weird.
I would not wish a twin pregnancy on my worst enemy. ETA: I don't mean to say that it's not also a blessing. I fully realize that, and am grateful for 2 healthy babies. I just want to clarify that I'm not intending to hurt anyone's feelings or struggles with this comment.
I hate Elmo (mostly his voice and the way he talks). Just call me Oscar I guess?
I thought Beyonce's twin photoshoot was iconic. She looked like a beautiful goddess.
It was so weird looking I almost think she was trying to be ironic. Why is she lying on fake flowers? Why is she on such a cheesy set? Why is she wearing mismatched undergarments? What's with the veil? I literally hate everything about the picture other than the fact that she's a pretty lady.

Nooooooooooo, she was flawless! I thought it was a weird/quirky shoot and totally her style. She couldn't just do a normal maternity shoot! She's Beyonce!

That's cute but I feel like that could get very mean.
We never celebrated 100 days of school at any school I went to.
My old HS had a "Señors and Señoritas" dress up day for the seniors right before their graduation. It turned in to "Dress like a Mexican" day, with people dressed up like Border Patrol handcuffing people, pushing strollers with 10+ baby dolls in them, etc. It was AWFUL. It made national news and the principal lost his job.
Some of these dress up days can get pretty out of control.

I love Beyoncé. Her voice is amazing. She is not a frequent lip syncer. Her dance moves are flawless. Her body is amazing - I love that she has curves and flaunts them. She isn't afraid to stand up for what is right. She is unapologetic in her beliefs. Lemonade is a work of fucking art.
She could have done her maternity shoot in a potato sack and I wouldn't give a crap. I love that someone as mainstream as her, also has as much depth, and actually good music.

rachydc I HATE my side by side stroller for the girls. It's awful and gets stuck everywhere. Today we got caught on a table at the bookstore and I knocked over a ton of books.
Also, Yo Gabba Gabba can be downloaded on iTunes I believe. I recently found that I had a bunch of old episodes downloaded to my iTunes account from when my niece was younger. Along with Dora, Bubble Guppies, The Backyardigains and The Fresh Beat Band. W isn't too amused.

Well scratch my first one. I have a new one. I was sitting working on our taxes when my doorbell rang.
I could see two gentleman standing on my doorstep. And I kid you not it was one of the local new stations. They wanted to interview me for the evening news. I said no. I am like Claire Dunphy, I laugh at inappropriate times, plus I had run previously so I had not a stitch of makeup on. I guess I am vain.
So my UO is that I have zero desire to be on the news, ever.

I love that Claire Dunphy is your point of reference. I the Dunphys.
A friend posted a pic on fb of the gifts "her daughter" made to take to everyone in her class because it's her birthday.
Is this a thing? Am I supposed to make a MF-ing gift to bring to everyone on my kid's birthday? And incorporate some kind of pun? WHO HAS TIME FOR THIS SHIT?!

Makes me glad for this July birthday.
No. Rage, rage against giving gifts on one's birthday.
I did not expect the list to be THAT bad. Those names are AWFUL. Moana? Yeah that will be easy for her growing up, I'm sure. Benajah. How do you even say that?
I'm irrationally annoyed by this list.
I'm also very annoyed that Sherlock is on there. Do these people not realize those stories are decades old? Suddenly it gets a TV show and the name is hot. No.

Man, between the 50s at 50 days, 100 y/o at 100, and this birthday madness I am SO glad to live in a place where Pinterest is not a thing.

No this is not a thing at least where I live. Both of my kids schools we have brought treats for classmates usually Rice Krispies from the box since they are gluten free and peanut free. My kids have never brought home a present from their classmates.
Also sorry to add the schools celebrate 1/2 birthdays so you will still have to bring something on their "un-birthday"

Apparently I am living the kindergarten dream over here where they just wear the class crown on their birthday and we don't do 50 or 100 days of school. He had to dress in school colors one day and that's been it.
