bwisco123 no matter what time G wakes up, I leave her in her crib until 7. She used to get up early but doesn't anymore. This morning she woke up at 6:15 and fell back to sleep until 7 a few minutes later.

Good morning all! I am feeling better than last night besides having a headache. My SIL wants to go shopping. I want to go but I am leaving it up to her whether or not she wants to spend time with me knowing I had a slight fever last night. She is supposed to be her in an hour and a half and I haven't even showered yet.

Can you have strep throat without a fever? DD has been complaining about a VERY bad sore throat since yesterday. She has absolutely no other symptoms. I know she is prone to strep but shouldn't she have other ssymptoms?
So FB brought up this memory from 6 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was really depressed then because my now ex-husband was cheating on me and drinking too much. You can totally see the sadness in this photo.

Not sure-- but the sore throat may just be the start to a nasty virus or cold.
hotcoconuts82, I don't think I have ever had a fever with strep throat. Then again, I hardly ever have a fever when I'm sick. This is probably not helpful.
My manager is calling me in a few to do my review over the phone since I'm working in another office. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Is this the awful manager that is leaving?! If so, be happy you don't have to look at her during the meeting. You can pretend she looks like a mosquito or something. 😊

No, this is actually her boss. There are going to be so many changes in my office in-between now and my maternity leave and possibly opportunity for me to move up. So I'm really hoping for a good review. What sucks is they do our review now and then in about 6 weeks we find out IF we get a raise or not. Lame. But crappy manager leave a week from tomorrow. I'm still in shock over the whole thing.
hotcoconuts82, the bug that hit our house the past few weeks started with sore throats, then added congestion, and coughing, but no fever. It lasted about 1.5 weeks for us and went in waves of symptoms.
Does her throat look irritated with any pockmarks or puss? Does her voice sound "milky" when she talks? Those were telltale signs for me when I was younger and the queen of strep throat.

My kid keeps licking things. I'll wipe down the coffee table, and I turn around and she's licking it. She keeps trying to lick my sisters face, the dog bowl, my iPad. I have no idea why she is doing this all of a sudden- but how gross!!

Her throat looks normal to me but I'm no throat expert . Voice sounds pretty normal. Maybe I'll give it another day and see if anything develops.

I fucking hate late people. I am raging right now. My SIL was supposed to pick us up by 10. That is 20 minutes later than we originally planned but no big deal. She calls me a few minutes AFTER 10 and says she will be a little late because she has to drop something off somewhere and she is just leaving her house. Wtf? You are already late and you still have shit to do. It's now after 11 and she is telling me it will be 20 more minutes. I told her if we are not in her car by 11:30, don't bother.

yes you can have it withou a fever. I never run fevers when I'm sick or have anything like strep.

Oh trust me. I leave her in there. It just sucks when she hears me getting ready for work and sits in her crib screaming MAMA MAMA MAMA until I go in there.
Typically I have to wake her at 640 to go to daycare.
We had a check on M's hemangioma this morning at Children's National. Good news is they're comfortable with the fact that it's not changing and she doesn't have to come back for more follow ups! Bad news is it might not go away until she's 4 or 5 but at least it's not super visible.
bwisco123, my mom has been a teacher for eleventy billion years and she's had this problem before. She started buying cheap snack and keeping them in her classroom. She didn't advertise the fact she had them. I know it's hard because you already have to spend so much of your own money on supplies, but maybe buy some off brand cheap snack stuff in case of emergency. I could understand the reasons not to buy it too, just a suggestion. Or, my mom would scoop up extra stuff kids didn't want from breakfast or lunch. For example, maybe a kid got a granola bar at breakfast and was going to throw it away. She would take it and save it for someone who needed a snack.
Awesome! I would buy them all together....I am not sure if they are like Motorola but I bought the set, and was going to add a camera 6 months later and they had changed to a new model and it was impossible to get a camera that would work with the parent unit and initial camera. So now, I have 2 parent units and cameras, (our Master is on the 1st floor & girls upstairs). Super annoying!
emu0013, gah I am afraid of that. This is the brand new model and the camera is available on Amazon. I could buy the camera sooner rather than later just to make sure.
Anyone have thoughts on cameras that go straight to your Iphone? Does anyone have one?
That's what we have. We have a drop cam and then an app on our phones. I love it! Nothing extra to carry around and the picture quality when it's dark is much better than on the monitors our friends have (maybe there are better ones out there, I don't know).
bwisco123, could you talk to your PTA or just class parents about donating snacks for kids that need them?
As a parent, I'd happily buy some snacks as backup if it meant my kid's peers weren't going without and feeding those kids wasn't falling solely on her teacher's shoulders.
